– Volume 4 Episode 10
“Come on, try this too!”
Jeong Dae-sik accepted Sogang-doo’s hookah.
As soon as I took a sip of it, a sudden burst of laughter swelled up.
“…Ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha! ah ha ha! ooh, laughter… ha ha ha ha!”
Jung Dae-sik thought that he was crazy for laughing for no reason.
But that thought was only a fraction of reason, and in reality it felt like it was going to be okay.
“It’s called a roaring cigarette.”
“Ahaha… Haha! It’s strange. I don’t know what it is, but it’s so funny!”
“Hahaha! In our opinion, you are the funnier! The higher the mana, the stronger the reaction. Usually, I laugh a few times, but I don’t laugh to die like you!”
“Ahahaha! My stomach hurts! Wahahahaha!”
Soon, So Kang-doo and Yoo Tae-hoon also started to smoke and laugh.
Mu-won Park refused, but Mi-rae Heo said that he was more hungry than cigarettes and drank a few glasses in a row.
Mi-rae Heo suddenly stood up from her seat as if her spirits were on the rise.
She put her hands under her belly button and nodded in greeting.
And then suddenly shouted.
“Heo Mirae~ Show! Show! Show!”
As soon as Heo Mi-rae cried out like that, a swarm of black butterflies rose from behind her.
Jeong Dae-sik was surprised and said, “Wow!” Heo Mi-rae burst into laughter as he fell backwards screaming.
Then the butterfly, which was originally black, changed to a fully natural color.
“Heo Mi-rae, you’re already drunk!”
Park Mu-won, the only sane person, forced her to sit.
But I kept getting up and trying to put on his butterfly show.
Seeing this, Dae-Sik Jeong smiled nonstop.
I couldn’t stop laughing because I was receiving too much laughter cigarettes.
So Kang-doo and Yoo Tae-hoon laughed while watching that scene.
Anyway, it was a mess.
“Ah, mic test, mic test.”
It was noisy outside, and the men clinged to the railings of the wide open windows.
The smile faded as if the effect of the laughter cigarette had barely faded, and Sogangdu pointed somewhere and said.
“It’s the best event in Gapyeong. It’s an amazing sight. The phantom lives here. It’s no exaggeration to say that he made this place.”
The Phantom was an Awakener with a history of rescuing millions of people with his amazing skill of creating illusions when Monster Break occurred.
He did not play an active part as a hunter, but he was a person who was often talked about among first-generation Awakened people.
While I was thinking that such a person was in a place like this, the announcement started.
「From now on, the highlight of Gapyeong Night! The Phantom Festival begins!”
The sound of applause and shouts resounded, and the announcement continued.
“Now everything you see is welcome. It’s just an amazing overnight dream created by the illusionist Phantom, so don’t be afraid. But don’t get too caught up in the illusion. It’s just a mirage that will disappear after a while. Alright then, let’s begin!”
After the not-so-fresh introduction was over, it suddenly became dark everywhere.
It felt as if the glowstone had lost its light at once and was blinded.
Jeong Dae-sik was confused and stood still.
Like Jeong Dae-sik, some surprised hunters could hear the whispers.
Jeong Dae-sik looked around, waiting for his eyes to ripen in the darkness, and saw the dark night sky.
I thought it was dark when the glowstone was bright, but it wasn’t.
The stars were awesome.
Were the stars so bright here?
Jeong Dae-sik, who raised his head in admiration, immediately felt the starlight begin to descend.
The starlight, which descended like snowflakes or like fireflies, soon began to dance.
Jeong Dae-sik knew that it was a fairy.
Fairies with beautiful appearances that seemed to come out of a fairy tale when they were young danced.
They spun around in groups and sang the perfect solo.
Then, suddenly, it grew large.
Jeong Dae-sik was surprised to see the fairy suddenly appeared in front of him and turned his body back.
The fairy, who instantly became human-sized, was very beautiful.
The fairy smiled mysteriously and hovered between Jeong Dae-sik and the crew.
Suddenly, the fairy turned into a mermaid.
With its long, scaly tail wrapped around the crew once, he went out the window to meet the fairies who had also turned into mermaids.
Then a soft voice was heard.
Suddenly, the outside was transformed into a landscape in the sea.
Dolphins and tropical fish swam, mermaids rode large tortoises, bounced harps and sang songs.
Then, as darkness fell over my head, a huge whale appeared.
The whale passed them by with a strange howl, and soon a bigger one appeared.
It was a creature that Jeong Dae-shik had never seen before.
It was a sea dragon.
The sight of them swimming leisurely while moving their numerous fins as if in a row was amazing.
It was a sight I had never felt before looking at other monsters.
He looked at it with his mouth wide open, and soon something suspicious of his eyes appeared.
Jeong Dae-sik shouted in shock.
A monster that almost sank the Japanese archipelago to the bottom of the sea appeared chasing the sea dragon.
Sea Dragon and Kraken fought fiercely in the air.
But the sight was not threatening.
Every time the sea dragon and the kraken collided, star candy poured in all directions.
The more they fought, the smaller they got.
Then it changed into another monster several times.
Eventually, the two became a giant dragon and a manticore.
The dragon vomited fire, and the fire burned the valley.
The manticore bit his throat, and poison poured out and extinguished the flames.
As it went up and down, the fire grew bigger and bigger.
Before long, even the Dragon and Manticore were engulfed in the flames.
Everything was on fire.
Jeong Dae-sik looked down at his burning hands.
I looked at my colleagues and they were on fire too.
But the heat was not felt at all.
Soon, a phoenix appeared from the fire.
The phoenix howled and flapped its wings.
Then he led all the flames and disappeared into the sky, far away.
When I woke up, it was dark again.
Soon the glowstone lit up and reality returned to its form.
“Wow, today was great!”
Jeong Dae-sik, who was startled to see Mi-rae Heo enjoying himself clapping and applauding, came to his senses.
Tae-Hoon Yoo blew a whistle, and Kang-Doo Soh also sent cheers to Phantom, who was somewhere else.
Park Mu-won? He looked unimpressed.
Jeong Dae-sik honestly admired it.
“It was great.”
“Isn’t it cool? This isn’t the end of the event tonight. There are a lot of fun events waiting for you, so look forward to it!”
So Gang-doo boasted that it would be a night to remember for the rest of his life.
And it really did come true.
Jeong Dae-sik drank a cocktail called ‘Yongtrim’ to his heart’s content and laughed and chatted.
And I went to the wrestling board where the transformation magicians were fighting with the members of the squad to watch.
So Gang-doo competed and defeated quite a few people.
In the end, we lost to the giant Wear Bear, but the match itself was worth watching.
With the prize money received there, he went to another shop to drink, and joined with other hunters.
The second event started while everyone was talking loudly about the saga in the dungeon.
A talented person called Gardner made me sing the Gapyeong Forest.
The grass and trees that grew at an amazing speed bloomed and swayed in the wind, creating a marvelous sight.
When the second event ended, a ‘strange auction market’ was held.
It was an auction selling all kinds of weird, funny, and weird things that came out of the dungeon.
It wasn’t really worth it, but people bid for fun.
The night was long and long.
Jeong Dae-sik drank dragon tart and smoked a cigarette.
Surprisingly, however, at the same time he was acting, he was strangely smart.
No matter how much he drank and talked, he never felt tired or sleepy, and his body and mind were full of vitality and joy like never before.
In the end, they were only able to dig up their seats when they saw the morning sun.
“Drung! Druckle! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……”
Jeong Dae-sik woke up to the sound of someone snoring loudly.
With a flash of light, he opened his eyes and jumped up from his seat to see Sogangdu lying on the floor.
He was gasping for breath with only one piece of panties on.
Jeong Dae-sik didn’t wear much either.
He scratched his new home and looked around.
‘Where the hell is this…? Oh right. I slept at Yoo Tae-hoon’s house yesterday.’
The place where Yoo Tae-hoon was living was not a private residence.
He had his own apartment.
It was Tower Palace in the middle of Gangnam, where Jeong Dae-sik sang like that.
‘Ah, nice house…….’
Jeong Dae-sik went out to the living room in admiration.
Taehoon Yoo was already waking up and drinking coffee.
Mu-won Park and Mirae Heo were not present.
When they parted at dawn, they went back to their respective homes.
Park Mu-won, like Yoo Tae-hoon, had a house of her own, and Huh Mirae still lives with her parents.
Only Jeong Dae-sik and So Kang-doo, who live in the house, came to Yoo Tae-hoon’s house.
Jeong Dae-sik asked for a drink himself and sat down on the other side of the table.
“You woke up early. Aren’t you tired?”
“I can’t be tired.”
Jung Dae-sik suddenly realized what Yoo Tae-hoon said with a smile.
I drank like that yesterday and played like crazy, but I didn’t have a hangover at all.
On the contrary, I only slept for three hours, but my condition was very good as if I slept well.
Seeing the bewildered Jung Dae-sik, Yoo Tae-hoon handed him coffee and explained.
“This is the reason why Yongtrim is expensive. Not only does it not have a hangover, but it also refreshes the body. Some hunters carry it with them and drink it as a remedy for fatigue.”
“That’s right. That’s really good!”
It was a drink without a hangover, which was the best.
The problem is the price.
Jeong Dae-sik frowned, recalling the fact that the price of a cup of dragon trim was close to 300,000 won.
Yesterday, he almost paid all of his alcohol bills, so he squandered nearly 10 million won in one night.
It wasn’t even playing with women or drinking alcohol, but it was a considerable amount.
But it was fun.
