Civil Servant in a Romance Fantasy chapter 47

At that time, the Inspection Department - 1

At that time, the Inspection Department – 1

Deputy Inspector General, Deiras Croton’s daily routine was the same. He lives with most of the paperwork of the inspection department as the only office manager caught between a boss who is dubious to be good at office work and his subordinates who are not at all interested in looking at paperwork.

In the Ministry of Finance, the Deputy Director’s Office, which consists of Deiras and the deputy director’s attendants, is openly called the Inspection Department’s Division 0, so its importance cannot be ignored. Of course, the work of Section 0 is completely focused on office work and chores, not field activities.

That’s why the Inspection Department went back without too much trouble despite the fact that the manager was dispatched without a promise. In the first place, Deiras was in charge of most of the office work, and when the manager left for the academy, Deiras was entrusted with the authority to act as manager, so a fair amount of approval was made at Deiras Sun.

The only thing I’m concerned about is the seizure of the section manager trio who got off their leashes due to the absence of the manager, but it has been surprisingly quiet so far. In particular, the head of section 1 is living like a rat after going to the academy. He was suspicious, but it wasn’t a bad thing, so he let it go.

So, compared to concerns, Deiras was spending his duties as acting manager in peace.

At least it was peaceful until recently.

‘Chief?’

The communication tool of Deiras placed in a corner of the desk was shining blue. He periodically says hello and contacts, but usually there was no contact at this time?

“Yes, manager.”

– The Emperor has descended.

At the direct words of the manager, Deiras corrected his posture and sat down.

– I heard there is data delivered by the Ministry of Information?

“Yes. It was data about a family that had contact with the Third Glory. I received it this morning.

– His Majesty questioned the loyalty of the three families.

At that, Deiras quietly nodded his head. It is a family that has been in contact with an organization that talks about the revival of Apels. It was only natural for the emperor to doubt his loyalty and reap his rights.

– That’s why the Inspection Department follows Hwang’s orders and sweeps up weightlifting.

“Okay. How much would you like to set?”

– Without exception.

Deiras’ eyes trembled slightly as he waited for the manager’s answer.

“Okay.”

However, the agitation was short-lived. Deiras, who quickly settled his confused mind, obeyed his manager’s instructions.

– I want to go myself, but unfortunately I can’t leave.

“We’ll take care of it. Don’t worry.”

– Yes. The conductor can be trusted. I trust you will do it neatly.

“I will not disappoint you.”

The manager nodded and cut off contact, and his communication tool lost its luster. Deiras, who was looking at the communication sphere on his desk, leaned back in his chair and put his forehead on his forehead.

‘Something happened.’

The answer to the question about the scope was to not make exceptions. An instruction to kill all members of the family designated as traitors, regardless of age or gender, and to wipe out the servants of that family as well.

Of course, in principle, that is correct. As a rule, the seeds of a traitor should be dried, and the person who served the traitor should also be punished to get rid of the repercussions. But that is a principle that only applied in those days when the priesthood boasted a power that could not be ignored and had to catch and trample even the slightest pod.

In the present, when the imperial power has an overwhelming advantage, it is customary to slash only the ringleaders and demote the rest to slavery. Because that noble family, even if they don’t stop the seed, they can’t threaten the imperial authority. The current situation is to show the tolerance of the emperor by killing only the ringleader who plotted rebellion.

‘Something happened.’

Of course, if customs and principles conflict, it’s okay to stick with the principles. It would not be a problem for the emperor’s sword, the Inspection Department, to stop the seeds of the traitor who threatened the emperor. It is obvious that even the emperor would be satisfied with the loyalty of the inspection department.

It’s just a question that the general manager, who behaved as usual, came with principles. Clearly something is going on. He has something he doesn’t know.

After organizing his thoughts, Deiras reached for his communication port. The director’s order has been given, so we must move first.

Deiras looked up at the sound of a knock on the door while checking the information delivered by the Ministry of Information.

“Come in.”

Then the door to the deputy manager’s office opened and four people rushed in. All of the department heads gathered at the same time, probably meeting on the way back.

“What’s going on? It’s been a while since we called a meeting.”

Chief 2, who was in the lead, trudged over and chose a suitable seat to sit down. Following him, the three chiefs also took their seats and looked at Deiras. The 2nd section chief expressed his doubts as the representative, but the sudden summons must be all the same.

“Section 1.”

But Deiras stared at Section 1 before answering. Chief 1 blinks his eyes and tilts his head as if he didn’t know he was going to be called.

“What happened at the academy?”

Judging by the way his eyes trembled at those words, there must be something going on.

“Academy? Didn’t you just catch the third honor or something?”

Chief 2 yawned and spoke softly, but Deiras’ eyes were still fixed on Section 1. I’m sure I’ve heard reports from Section 1 that the Third Glory was captured, but there’s something more that I haven’t told you.

Chief 1, who is constantly being looked at, looked around, and finally opened his mouth quietly.

“The third glory brought up the north in front of the general manager.”

Chief 2, who had been yawning, froze in that state.

“Even the people of the 6 swords.”

A creepy silence fell over the staff meeting, where fatigue and annoyance lingered at the words of the first manager.

It was Section 3 that broke the long silence.

“No, why are you talking about that now?”

“What if I know in advance? Is there a way to release it?”

“I don’t have one, but…”

Director 3, who sighed as if he was helpless, then the head of section 5 asked a question to section 1.

“How was the manager?”

“How about it. You just pretended to be fine.”

“You broke it today.”

As the chiefs’ eyes fell on Deiras again at Deiras’s words, Deiras placed the intelligence department’s data in the center of the table and continued talking quietly.

“The family that came into contact with the third glory has been identified. Viscount Gorfu, Baron Bendel, and Baron Dosil.”

“It’s all nonsense.”

“Yes. Did you just leave because you had nothing to lose?”

“The manager ordered the punishment of these three families without exception.”

The chiefs kept their mouths closed again and exchanged glances. Even during the great purge two years ago, the punishment without exception was something that only happened to a very small number of families. Even the Asilon family, which the manager was gnashing his teeth at, no one died except for the head of the family and the heir.

“If we can’t do it right, won’t it be our turn next?”

“He said he believed he would do it neatly.”

“Waah, I’d rather be criticized.”

Chief 2 shudders as if in horror, and Section 3 wipes the sweat from his head with a stretched handkerchief. Now, the manager’s anger is limited to the three families, but if the subjugation against those three families is even a little insufficient, the direction of the anger is obvious.

Is it difficult to come to the Inspection Department because you are in the middle of dispatching to the academy? Well, if the manager’s eyes are completely gone, will we care about that? Despite the crown prince’s words that there was no need to kill even the family head of Asilon, it was the director who disguised it as suicide and killed him.

He even mocked me before I killed him. Thanks to this, the head of the Asilon family was recorded as a noble who committed suicide out of shame, rather than being killed. As a stupid nobleman who took his own life unable to overcome the momentary shame.

“The punishment for the three families is the imperial order.”

Deiras calmed her throbbing head and opened her mouth. Yes, it is Hwangmyeong. It is an order of the manager full of anger, and at the same time, it is a solemn order. Even if the manager didn’t mention anything, he had to deal with it thoroughly. It just broadens the scope a bit.

“Leonard Hodela, Director 3, Marsilio Viago, Director 5. Lead each department and subdue the traitors.”

“Okay.”

“Yes.”

Division 3 is in charge of the external force of the Inspection Department, and Division 5 is in charge of collecting untreated objects. If these two come forward, the lower nobles can quickly deal with about three.

“Director 1, Erzebet Masalo, and Section 2, Lafayette Baron, proceed with the interrogation before punishing the servant.”

“Yes.”

“I will.”

It’s been a long time since the department of the inspection department and all of them rushed at me. But what can I do? It’s not a simple corruption, it’s a problem related to treason, and the bomb that is about to explode is also flickering in front of your eyes. There are at least two people who will become enraged at the slightest sloppiness.

“Again. There are no exceptions. There shouldn’t be any delay. I’ll ask for help from the Special Forces, so move quickly.”

It will take a considerable amount of time to visit the three families on foot, and while one family is dealt with, the other two families may hear the news and run away. A situation where movement via teleport is essential. It is reluctant to complain to the special task force, but since treason is at stake, the special task force will readily cooperate.

As Deiras watched the quickly disbanding managers, he inadvertently let out a sigh. 6 Swords? You provoked the subject of the 6 swords in front of the manager?

‘Crazy bastard.’

It wasn’t just the north that touched them. If you’re a suicidal person, your wish would have been properly fulfilled. It would have been safer to curse at the manager, but I don’t know if the body remains.

***

It is impossible to give instructions to the conductor in a place where there are many eyes. I sneaked out of the auditorium and gave the subjugation order to the deputy director, and while I was gone, I sat on a bench and got some fresh air.

‘I’ll do well.’

It’s unfortunate that I can’t use my hands directly, but I’m in no position to leave this seat recklessly. Because I can’t leave public work behind for private reasons. If the emperor had given an order to Karl Krasius instead of the inspector general, he would have run without looking back.

‘Sorry.’

My kids believe. If you look at it from within the Inspection Department, even if it’s a group of idiots without such idiots, outside work doesn’t disappoint. Of course, disasters such as the mistaken shooting of section 3 are not absent, but if you designate such a clear target, you cannot make a mistake.

It’s just a pity. The fact that I have to leave it to someone else is too much.

Let’s still be satisfied. If no family had come into contact with the third glory, I would have had to let go of my anger with only blowing my head in the forest. At least this is my order, my men moved.

“Brother!”

As I stared blankly at the sky, Louise was running towards me holding the trophy next to me. Behind him, he hung his members in clusters.

“I’m going to fall. Be careful.”

I got up from my seat with a smile on my face.

Okay, let’s be satisfied. Because today is a good day Let’s believe that the Inspection Department will send one more good news.

I wonder if Irina will have any importance in this story? The author set her up as someone he felt some guilt to so I would’ve thought she would appear someday but their is barely any further meeting with her until now. Well she is most likely wary of him so her avoiding him would makes sense especially since Karl also avoid showing himself to the students more than necessary so I guess the probability of a chance meeting would be low.
