Civil Servant in a Romance Fantasy chapter 80

Dynamic Life History - 1

Dynamic Life History – 1

It is surprising that the family head, who has been inactive since the war, came to the memorial service, but there is a high probability that he came because the imperial council asked him to go as a representative. Because the basic title attached to Imperial White is a member of the Imperial Council.

No matter how flashy the name of a lawmaker is, the essence is a public servant. If I were an administrative official, I would be a legislative official… In the first place, the island is not far from the county of Tyleglehen.

“Oh, are you here already?”

“Are you here?”

As I sat in the office until the start of the memorial service, the executives began to gather. The first to come was Section 1, who arrived mumbling with a piece of bread in his hand. It’s your style to eat breakfast. It was somehow healthy.

“You’re on dispatch, right? What do you see three times during the dispatch period?”

“I didn’t expect to see you three times either.”

When I was first sold to the academy, I thought I would come back at least once, but like a lie, the head of section 1 came to the academy during the fair, and I was dragged into the system during the Ma Jong-gong incident. I’ve had the unexpected happen twice. Happened twice…

“Would you like something to eat?”

“All right. Eat all of you.”

“Yes.”

I was told to tear the bread in my hand and give it to him, so I declined. I feel like I’m stealing food from my subordinates.

“Oh, I was just hungry.”

“Huh?”

And the second section robbed the half of the first section’s hand at the same time he went to work. It’s gorgeous for morning greetings. Section Chief 2, who shoved the bread into his mouth in an instant, nodded at me. You’d better run away in time to say hello to me.

“Spit it out now!”

Chief 1’s necklace hit the 2nd clerk’s fence.

Chief 5, who was about to open the door and come in, saw it and quietly closed the door. It’s a smart choice.

Unlike last year, several big figures also participated in this memorial event. The Minister of the Palace on behalf of the bureaucracy, the Minister of War and the Minister of War on behalf of the military, the Earl of Tylglechen on behalf of the Parliament, and the Minister and I who participated in the war.

Last year, it was a time when I was able to get along so well that I barely found time, so other people couldn’t participate. This year, since the emperor started flying 6 swords, he managed to stand a good reason to participate.

“If it wasn’t for the dedication of the loyalists towards the empire, how could the empire claim to have the Mandate of Heaven?”

The voice of the Minister of the Imperial Household reciting the Emperor’s eulogy for the dead in the Great Subjugation War resonated in the National Cemetery. With your sacrifices, the empire’s life was preserved. Among the compliments that the emperor could give, it was a remark ranked at the highest rank. Because the Mandate of Heaven is the only factor that allows an empire to rule as an empire.

“The dedication of a hero who embraced hardships becomes a stepping stone for the empire to move into the future, and its name will be immortal.”

‘I’m immortal.’

I put strength into each and every remark, whether it’s because I drove away things that passed quietly last year. Or does the emperor even have a sense of affection for those who died for the empire? Indeed, it is living subjects who threaten the imperial authority, not dead heroes.

After the Minister of the Imperial Household finished the reading, all of them bowed their heads and prayed silently. Compared to last year, you have more time, but you still have a lot of work to do.

“Knife.”

As if I was behind in work, I exchanged eye contact with the hurried Jeon Seung-gong and was about to go to their tombstones when I heard a familiar voice from behind. Looking back, I see a black-haired man.

“Meet the head of the household.”

The head of the household, Count Tylglehen, has come to represent the council. When he came to the National Cemetery, he only made moderate eye contact and passed by, and I thought he would just go after it was over, but he didn’t know that I would talk to him first.

“Yes. It’s been a while.”

“I’m sorry. I should have looked for you earlier.”

“I’m not blaming you, so don’t worry.”

Actually, I didn’t really care. It’s been a few years since I’ve been seeing the head of household, but I know only about their tendencies. On the contrary, if I had forced myself to take the time to visit the householder, I would have heard nagging that I was doing things poorly.

In fact, the governor did not express any other complaints as to whether that was the correct answer. Rather, it was a look of slight satisfaction on his face. It’s kind of strange to see someone like me. When I get older, it will be just like that.

“Count Blotchen. Have you been well?”

“That’s always me. I’m glad Count Tylglechen is doing well too.”

And the gaze of the head of state turned to the minister next to me. The two of them have known each other, so it’s okay to say hello. It’s a problem that we’re not close enough to talk for a long time, but the conversation ended quickly.

“Is Erich doing well?”

The patriarch, who was silent for a moment, spoke to me again. Wow, was this person originally asking after his son?

“Yes, I’m fine.”

“I see. Tell them instead. It’s more important to go far than to go fast.”

“Okay.”

He nodded slightly at my answer and turned his back without regret. This is a bit surprising.

“I thought he was blunt, but surprisingly.”

“That’s right.”

The minister muttered as the governor moved away. Going far is more important than going fast. At first glance, it sounds like a statement that guides the direction of nothingness, but in reality, ‘take your time because hurrying will hurt you.’ It means. What’s wrong with the neglectful nobleman?

“Well, things change when you get older.”

At those words, my gaze was involuntarily fixed on the minister. You’re so old, why are you so consistent…

“Let’s go before it’s too late.”

“Oh, yes.”

At the same time, the executives standing in the back line also came this way.

In the National Cemetery, you have to go to the fallen area, especially the Great Subjugation War area, and finally to the Inspection Department area to find their tombstones.

“I’ll give it to you first.”

“Yes, please.”

When we reached the place where the six tombstones were erected side by side, the minister came forward with a bottle of boyar wine. Yes, it’s right to get the elder’s drink first.

A spectacle pouring a bottle into a tombstone. Drink to your heart’s content. It’s a rare item that’s hard to find, so you can only give it once a year.

“Chief.”

“Yes.”

The minister, who had finished drinking, touched the tombstone a few times and turned his back, handing over the box the conductor was holding. I could have it, but if someone in the front row was holding something, their eyes would be drawn. It was the conductor’s own consideration, so in the end, I had left it until now.

Carrying the box he was given, he went to the tombstone and the minister patted him on the shoulder and passed by. This gentleman has become a little sentimental today.

‘Can I give you this?’

Looking at the soaked tombstone made me laugh. It’s still a strong boyar wine, but wouldn’t it be really drunk with two bottles in a row? I was worried for a while, but decided to pour it as it is. It’s an annual event, so it’s no big deal to get drunk.

First of all, the culprit of this situation is the young per week.

Gerard, Sacred Energy 1348 ~ 1375

‘You would have had a short life because of alcohol in the first place.’

As soon as I opened the first bottle, I poured it right over the words written on the tombstone. The sum of the drinks of the other six team leaders couldn’t keep up with this kid drinking alone. How well the guy who was so good at handling spears.

“Oh, you’re good at it? If you train for 300 more years, you’ll be as good as I am.”

“Are you crazy at last?”

Still, I wasn’t good at teaching. Having learned from him, I’m so big that I’m amazing.

Oliver, Sacred Power 1346 ~ 1375

On the other hand, this guy didn’t drink alcohol at all. To the extent that he drank a lot once every month or two.

“It’s bitter when a person who worships a god surrenders himself to pleasure.”

But what to do, the next saint of your church is the king of roulette. I didn’t see that and went to Enen’s side, so is it a good thing?

Drake, Sacred Energy 1351 ~ 1375

He likes to drink, but he’s not the type to drink. Still, it was fun to watch the alcohol increase while drinking.

“If you hold a sword in each hand, can’t you cut it twice?”

“I’m in the same rank as this bastard?”

“Hey, don’t go anywhere and call it the Inspection Department.”

The problem is that his intelligence has become a little strange as time goes on, probably because of that price. Still, it was surprising that he really mastered the dual swordsmanship.

Walter, Holy Power 1350 ~ 1375

Still, compared to the guy whose intelligence was questionable from the beginning, Drake must be good. Because this guy was really great in so many ways.

“…What are you doing?”

“Practice walking on water. Wouldn’t it be possible if you put your other foot out before sinking?”

“If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be better to walk on air?”

“Oh.”

“Oh, damn it. Isn’t it coming out right now?”

But at the end, he really walked on water. Of course, it was a shortcut by putting mana on his feet, but if he had lived a little longer, he would have flown into the air. He was like a different world version of the Wright Brothers.

Idrid, Sacred Power 1349 ~ 1375

As I opened the fifth bottle and poured it on Idrid’s tombstone, I felt strangely calm. He was the only normal person among the team leaders of Division 4 who wondered where he had gathered all these things. If you hit it now, it’s a deputy manager or a 5th section manager position.

“When the war is over, get rid of this dog-like life in the Inspection Department.”

He was also a prophet who first dreamed of escaping from the Inspection Department, which was insane because he was a normal person. Escaping the Inspection Department was on his bucket list, so I was going to accomplish it instead.

‘I’m sorry.’

I still haven’t achieved it. The military transfer, which was the only opportunity, failed because of the crown prince, and after that, the minister did not think of accepting his resignation. The other kids’ wishes have come true, but you seem to have a hard time in the future.

As I reached the last tombstone, my body froze for a while.

Hecate, Sacred Power 1352 ~ 1375

Still, like the others, I took out the last bottle and quietly poured it onto my tombstone.

Emotions welled up from the depths of my heart for no reason, but I tried to calm them down. Still, it’s really too much. When I think of the hardships you went through after leaving, I want to get it right at least once.

‘Why did you do that?’

He patted the drunken tombstone of Hecate and let out a small sigh. The classification of burials in national cemeteries is thorough. The dead are buried by the dead, and the dead are buried by the soldiers. Hecate was not a warrior, but a suicide, so originally he couldn’t be here.

I somehow managed to transform it into a warrior and keep it side by side with these guys.

‘Why did you do that?’

The feeling of writing your signature with my own hand. How do you think it would have felt to write down a falsely fabricated signature instead of the real thing? I went to the person who knew the truth and bowed my head several times and asked him to close his eyes. Well, at least it was about winning.

‘Too much, really.’

To be honest, I resented it a lot. It’s sad that the five of us left first, but we lived. I wanted to do what they wanted with you, and live remembering who they were.

But what if he goes away like that? I was the one who found you dead, and I was the one who took care of it.

“I’m sorry, Carl.”

Why did you do something to be sorry for? It was sad that you made that choice, but it hurt even more to think that I left because I couldn’t support you.

After touching the tombstone several times, he stepped back. Seeing it this way sucks.

‘How am I still the youngest?’

I’m the only one out of seven who gets older, but I’m still the youngest. It’s amazing, really.

So it turns out that Hecate didn’t die in the war or of injuries as was the original implication, but rather took her own life sometime after the war concluded. No doubt she was suffering from PTSD as well and was in a poor mental state.

And MC was the one who discovered her body, what a messed up situation. As if he didn’t have enough trauma already, having to bury the body of his lover probably didn’t help. He’s definitely got some serious survivor’s guilt being the last one alive in his squad.
