I Became the Hero Who Banished the Protagonist chapter 7

“So, are you that legendary mercenary?”

“Come on, I am that legendary mercenary.”

From the beginning, Arjen did not like the hero. Perhaps the warrior who welcomed him as a colleague had the same thoughts. The two knew each other. The hero was unconcerned, and Arjen could not stand such a hero’s arbitrariness. It was only after defeating the ‘Third Plague’ and triumphantly returning to the capital that their conflicts, which had been stuck on the same line as if they were about to explode, were fully revealed.

“Arjen, get out of the party.”

“What?”

“I thought about it during the last expedition. You’re right to go out. I felt that this party would be able to run well enough without you.”

It’s right to go out. right? It was an arrogant voice. No, if I had been completely arrogant, I wouldn’t have been angry. The warrior’s voice as he spoke while glaring at Arjen contained a hint of anxiety. Those dull turquoise eyes shook. As usual, the warrior’s office was dark with the lights off. Arjen let out a laugh.

“That’s right. Okay, let’s hear the reason.”

Did you let go of your mind after defeating the ‘third plague’? Do you think he even managed to defeat the monster alone just because he delivered the final blow himself? I stared at the warrior’s eyes, which were shining like those of a beast.

“You are so selfish. Don’t you realize that if you don’t obey my control alone, you won’t realize that our whole party is on the verge of splitting up because of you?”

“Really, how can you be so annoying from start to finish?”

Arjen spoke with anger in every letter. Still, as if he had any pride, the brave man distorted all his facial muscles and gnashed his teeth.

“That is what I will do. How can you never obey my control from start to finish?”

“If I had the right to follow you, I would have followed you. You incompetent bastard.”

“Was that your qualification?”

Ugh.

The floor Arjen was standing on cracked. The hero also raised his mana to face the torrent of mana rising with unbearable momentum. The spirits of the two seemed equal at first, but at some point, Arjen’s spirit became strong enough to eat the hero’s strength.

“Even though they have eyes, they refuse to see, so there is no such thing as a blind person.”

“Then you must be deaf if you don’t listen even though you have ears.”

The tension grew as if it was about to explode the room. Arjen raised his blood and listened more, realizing that there was no reason for him to cling on so much, and shut his mouth. There was no sense of mission in the first place. There wasn’t much love in this world. On top of that, I hated it even more that I had to go around the world with this dog-like bastard all the time.

“Okay, try your best.”

Arjen turned around with a long line at the end of ‘Zal’. Talking more than that seemed like a waste of time. It was the warrior who kicked him out, and the guy who summoned him alone bears all the responsibility. Arjen did nothing wrong. Arjen grabbed the doorknob and looked back at the hero. After he lost his confidence, how long could he keep his arrogant eyes?

“I don’t know how long your proud warrior will last.”

Arjen opened the door and paused for a moment. After throwing everything like this, there was still one thing left to catch. Isis. A saintess who rebelled against a warrior with only flowers on his head, completely unaware of that reality. And, the comrades who suffered more than that.

Isis.

Recalling Isis’ eyes and smile, Arjen bit his teeth again. It bothers me that I have to leave her behind. It would be better if he left without a word, lest he get her into trouble.

“At least, don’t bother the remaining party members.”

bang.

Arjen left a note on the road, packed up everything, and got on the night carriage. No matter what happened, I wanted to get out of the royal road first. I wanted to leave this country that forced me to take care of that gray-haired warrior who was living a free mercenary life.

“For the time being, it’s not okay to be a mercenary again.”

Inside the rattling wagon, Arjen rolled his eyes. At the edge of the starry night sky, the lights of the royal capital shimmered faintly. Arjen cast a hateful gaze at the city and then closed his eyes.

“Let’s try being an adventurer for a while.”

The face of Isis that came to mind in the corner of my mind was put aside for a while. Still, I left a note, so I’m sure you know what happened.

Isis was the first member of the warrior party. Before Illroy was chosen by the holy sword and given the title of hero, Isis was already fulfilling her duties as a saint. The reason she was able to become a saint, knowing nothing about destructive magic or swords, was only mana with healing properties.

“ah… , Holy Lady! thank you… thank you!”

“I thought I would have to live as a one-armed person for the rest of my life… thank you… .”

Whether your bones are broken, your stomach pierced and your intestines spilled out, your limbs cut off, your eyes gouged out. Isis’ magical powers healed everything unless her throat was cut off. As soon as Seongguk discovered Isis’ talent, he made her the face of the church and even gave her the shy nickname of a saint. Although the nickname was embarrassing, Isis was basically very proud of her duty.

“… Are you going to defeat disaster?”

The narrow-eyed bishop, who always had a benevolent smile, nodded.

“This time, it was decided at the meeting between the Kairos Kingdom and the Holy Nation. A person chosen by a Noble Phantasm appeared. People in the kingdom already say they call him a hero.”

At the word hero, Isis widened her blue eyes. Seeing Isis’ reaction, the bishop let out a small laugh. The dim light of the candles dimmed the bishop’s smile. The bishop sighed slightly as he turned his head toward the relief on the wall where his shadow shimmered.

“Even in the Holy Land… To be precise, it was something we had to do at some point in our Puritan church. It was welcome that Kairos Kingdom, which possesses the holy sword, sent the proposal first. And, this time, Seongguk will recommend you, Isis, to assist the hero. And if possible, I think it would be best for you to volunteer and be the first to enter the party.”

He had always lived for his duty, so it was nothing special. Isis nodded confidently. As for the sense of duty and justice, I was confident that I would not lose to anyone. Even if it was the hero chosen by the holy sword.

“So, are you going alone with that hero?”

“That’s a lot. The Kairos Kingdom will mobilize all its capabilities to support this expedition. If this cause is supported, other countries will also roll up their sleeves and help.”

It was the bishop who seemed to say not to worry, but Isis could not help but be concerned about the support of other countries. I didn’t think they would understand the meaning of this expedition and properly support it.

By the way, who would have known that the hero would be the biggest problem after the party was organized.

“Here I go first.”

“No, you back out. Let me step forward.”

The hero was self-righteous and selfish. I didn’t listen to the opinions of the party members, and when something happened, I always tried to pull out my pride, the holy sword, and go out. His temper was so impatient, it wasn’t once or twice that he put the party in danger by recklessly attacking the monster.

“Don’t interfere.”

The warrior was not weak. However, they were weaker than the mercenaries who joined during the journey. Worst of all, the fact that the warrior had feelings of inferiority and inferiority while watching the mercenary. The first journey of the warrior party, the path to defeating the ‘third disaster’, could be summarized as a fight for pride between the warrior and the mercenary. If there was a difference between the two, the warrior only showed his pride, and the mercenary did not have to show his pride.

It was a natural step for the saintess to rely on mercenaries rather than heroes.

Why did such an incompetent person become a warrior? Wouldn’t the journey have been easier if there hadn’t been a hero? In the midst of this, the hero showed no sign of notice, and openly showed that he liked Isis. In fact, this was one of the hardest to hold on to.

be patient Still, if Arjen is there, it’s worth holding on.

And just a few days after they defeated the ‘Third Plague’, Isis heard news like thunder from the sky from Georg.

“You kicked me out? Arjen?”

There was nothing but thinking. Isis headed for the hero’s hideout with Georg, who hurriedly pursued her. He opened the door and poured out his dissatisfaction towards the hero. No, it wasn’t a complaint, it was the reality of this hero’s party. The face of the hero who had listened to Isis pretending to be calm had changed to a blank expression before he knew it.

“Okay, if you’re just going to be so stupid and without explanation, I’m leaving this f*cking party. It would be much better to go looking for Arjen than you.”

Isis decided to leave to find Arjen. The holy sword was just a secondary element. If you’re going to continue your quest to save the world, you’d be better off convincing Arjen to go with you than sticking by the side of this damned champion.

“Who wants to walk out of this party?”

The hero seemed to be mistaken that he was in control of the situation even at this moment. Isis poured out words in the stupid face of such a hero.

“under! Whoever wants it, whoever wants it, whoever wants it. you can’t hold me down You should know that.”

“for a moment-“

“That’s Okay. I don’t even want to hear more. If you don’t want to cause friction with the Holy Kingdom, don’t hold on to me or chase me anymore.”

Isis knew that the Holy Kingdom would always be on the side of the saintess. And it was clear what path the party of warriors who expelled Arjen would take. If the Kingdom of Kairos sided with him, he would, but he would never be on the side of the hero. It was because the main figures in the kingdom didn’t particularly like or welcome the hero.

Isis thought so and set out on the royal road.

.

.

This week has passed.

The current Isis looked more like a female adventurer that could be found anywhere rather than a saint. Wearing a cape to avoid people’s eyes, Isis sat in a bar in a village on the outskirts, her blue eyes shining.

“… Wait. I will come to you soon.”

Isis had a note left by Arjen in her hand. Arjen briefly described on the note what kind of disagreement he had with the hero, why he left the party, and where he planned to go. Isis folded the note carefully and put it in her pocket, then let out a deep sigh.

“Oh, so the guest is from the royal capital?”

At that time, Isis heard a conversation between the bar owner and a customer. At the word ‘royal road’, Isis perked up her ears and tried to listen to what they were saying.

“yes. I’m not an adventurer, but I arrived here today for a brief dispatch mission.”

“Is there any interesting news in the fortress capital? Is the warrior party going well again?”

warrior party.

Isis’s blue eyes sank. I didn’t want to know, but it was information I needed to know.

The guest glanced around and began to speak in a much lower voice.

“It seems that the members of the hero’s party have changed significantly this time. I heard the saintess and the mercenary went out.”

“Really? Why the hell are those people… .”

The guest covered the host’s mouth, pretending to put a finger to his mouth.

“Shh. Only the owner knows this. If you tell me this, you know? I know this because I worked in the royal palace. It’s not like you can brag about it to just anyone.”

“You know, man. Choose whatever you want to drink. Let me tell you the story first.”

At the customer’s words that followed, Isis couldn’t help but let out a laugh.

“Besides those things, it seems that the hero party has a lot of problems this time around. So, they said they would hold a hearing this time at the palace.”

Lmao, I did a bit of research on this guy on the wiki. What I’ve learned is not to rush to judge someone even if they seem innocent, especially in Korean novels like this. The author is deceiving in so many ways, twisting these situations, confusing you and then slapping you in the face. But I like this kind of novel. Haha
