Inside An Adult Game As A Former Hero chapter 40

Inside An Adult Game As A Former Hero 40

EP.40 Imperial Social Gathering

After asking for permission from other nobles, Frilite withdrew from the Social Gathering together with Cloud.

No matter how high-ranking aristocrats were, no one could raise their voices towards her, a woman of the Perdiak family and a Hero of the Empire.

Thanks to this, Cloud was able to get out of the Social Gathering with ease.

After the two left, the Social Gathering became noisy again. However, the topics they talked about were very different from before.

– What did you say? He’s also losing to the newest knight in your house? Your family’s knights are great. Even a hero like that would be easily defeated.

-…

Or simply admiring Cloud’s inaction.

– Is that the incompetent Hero? What the hell has happened in the last few months?

They also wondered about what had happened in the past few months.

– Just because it was a surprise attack. Besides, Gis didn’t even have a weapon.

– The Cloud wasn’t armed either?

-Uh-huh, do you think Cloud will be able to defeat Gis if you fight properly with their weapon? Have you shown anything in the past?

– Hw must have trained hard with a sense of revenge. I’ve seen a lot of cases like that. A person who has the right motivation and is completely transformed.

-Would you like to make a bet then? I heard you bought a decent beast slave this time…

-…Okay. That child is mine. No more mention.

They just thought it was an interesting gossip.

The reason why those who were negative about Cloud showed this attitude was simple.

This is because Frillite personally led Cloud and left the Social Gathering.

It means that there is a close relationship between Cloud and Frillite.

They didn’t want to scratch Cloud’s gossip in their mouth for nothing.

While the nobles did, Lorian recalled the scene he had just seen. Frillite took Cloud’s arm and left the Social Gathering.

‘I found out that there is a friendship between the two.’

But he didn’t know if it would help in this situation.

‘Cloud… you’re going to ignore my warning.’

After tricking Eri into bringing her in, Lorian didn’t care about Cloud.

Because he wasn’t worth it.

It wasn’t now.

‘The penalty for ignoring the warning is…’

It will cost you a lot Lorian vowed to himself.

Meanwhile, Lorian was not the only one looking at the entrance of the Social Gathering where Cloud and Frilite had left.

Eri and Neria.

They also looked at the place where Cloud had left with empty eyes.

Looking at them sadly, Ophelia sighed.

* * *

A bar with a dark and intimate atmosphere.

At the long table in the center, a middle-aged bartender was cleaning wine glasses, and a man and a woman with identical red hair were sitting in front of them.

“When I was about to go inside the social hall, there was a lot of noise inside. So I wondered if Gis was making a riot again. But It’s you were the culprit. I was surprised in many ways.”

Among the two, the woman with her long hair tied in a ponytail, Frillite said.

She was wearing the same tailcoat she had worn in her former Social Gathering.

“Put aside how you managed to defeat the Gis. Because that’s not what’s important to me right now.”

Frilite’s red eyes turned to Cloud.

“What happened?”

“Why do you think so?”

“It just seems so.”

“What is it. You’re too rude.”

Peek Smiling Cloud.

He waved his glass and looked at the sparkling wine.

“It’s just because I keep thinking about the past.”

“Think of the past?”

“Yes. At the time, it was really hard to the point of wanting to die, but looking back, I miss that time again.”

“…”

“Who did it before? When you close your eyes, do you remember the glory of the past? But I really sympathize with it. Me too. Even if I try not to think, I think of it, and sometimes I dream. A dream in which I overcame danger with my colleagues.”

“…”

“Let’s pretend that something we will never forget for the rest of our lives. But… even that didn’t go as well as I thought? So, well… I was a little disappointed.”

Cloud shrugged as if it wasn’t a big deal.

Frillite looked at him with vague eyes. What comes to her mind is her past at a bar. She was the drool that Cloud did when he fell asleep.

-Sorry…

-If I had done a little better, you…

‘Yeah… you didn’t forget those three even back then. The nostalgia seems to have gotten worse.’

Frilite’s sweet mouth shut.

The hasty words of consolation seemed German. But no matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t come up with effective words of consolation.

So there was a moment of silence between the two.

It was Cloud who broke the silence. He asked, glancing at Frilite.

“Frilite, can I ask you just one thing?”

“Ask anything.”

“Um… I mean. If I ever need your help. But it’s very dangerous, so I can’t guarantee that even you will be able to save your life. If I ask for help in such a situation, can you come?”

“Yes.”

An answer without even a single hesitation.

Cloud laughed at her.

“Yeah, you were that guy. Thanks. for answering me.”

He looked away from Frillite and began pouring new wine into the glass.

Frillite tilted her head.

“You seem to be misunderstanding something.”

“Yes?”

“Did you not think that I would risk my life to help anyone?”

“No, not for anyone. Do you follow chivalry? so…”

“As you said, I am a knight. A knight, the only heir to the Duke of Perdiak family, and a Hero of the Empire. I know my position, my role, and my responsibilities.”

Cloud gave a questionable expression.

I can’t even hear you say this

Frillite sighed and said.

“I have never promised anyone that I would risk my life. It’s the first time I’ve made such a promise.”

Cloud stared blankly at Frillite for a moment. Then he suddenly started laughing out loud like a madman.

Frilite blushed slightly at him.

“What, what! Why are you laughing when I told you with great care! Are you kidding me?!”

Cloud grabbed his stomach and desperately tried to stop laughing. He said, looking at Frillite with a smile on his face.

“No, it’s just that I feel like an asshole until now. It was right next to me and I couldn’t find one. I’m really dead, I.”

His expression, which was full of laughter, gradually changed to a warm smile.

“Frilite, can I borrow your shoulder?”

“Shoulder? It doesn’t matter.”

Why are you all of a sudden trying to cross your shoulders at this time?

Frillite thought so to herself.

However, she soon realized that she was wrong.

“Cloud?”

“Yes?”

“I thought it was shoulder-to-shoulder, but why are you leaning on your head?”

Cloud rested his head on her shoulder instead of putting it on his shoulder.

“Did I never say shoulder-to-shoulder?”

“Cloud, no matter how much I don’t know about friends, I know that this is what lovers do.”

“Well, how are you? It’s not worn out either. Besides, you said you’d lend me your shoulder earlier, didn’t you? Aren’t you supposed to say two things with one mouth?”

“If you can’t speak… Whoa, do whatever you want.”

In the end, Frillite let Cloud’s head rest on her shoulder.

To be honest, she didn’t feel bad at all.

It was when the resigned Frilite was drinking wine again.

“But there was one.”

Cloud muttered a little.

“What did you say?”

“Thank you. And your shoulders are soft.”

“Is it? I thought it would be stiff because of the muscles.”

“No, it’s very comfortable. If I make a mistake, will I fall asleep like this?”

“I would like you to take a look at that. In that case, I have to carry you to the bed, but I don’t know where your bed is.”

“Can you teach me?”

“Done. Have a drink.”

“Spicy.”

The two drank quietly again.

Cloud asked quietly when another bottle of wine was empty.

“It must be difficult to travel with you, isn’t it?”

“I will. Regardless of whether you can keep up with my schedule, other kingdoms will protest. It’s not about maintaining neutrality, it’s about giving the hands of professionals and the kingdom.”

“Well, even if you don’t have that intention, it must look like that. too bad. I wanted to travel with you.”

“The journey is only to go after defeating the Demon King.”

“After you defeat the Demon King, you have to take over the family. Where do you have time to travel?”

“Isn’t there a honeymoon? How about going around the continent at least once with a little grandeur?”

Cloud’s eyes widened. Then he laughed.

“Wow, I didn’t know it was going to come in like this. Have you grown a lot too?”

“Is it? Well, if you were, then you would. More than that, it seems that the problem with colleagues is quite serious, seeing that you even want to travel with me. How about like I said last time, to have the talents of the Empire as colleagues?”

Cloud waved his hand.

“It’s okay. Because it seems like everyone here is the same except for you. I’ll just save them from the guys I know well.”

“You know?”

“Huh. With well-known and certain guys. And you have to go back to the beginning. It was too emotional for now. Is it because it’s been a while since I smelled an old perfume?”

Cloud scratched his head.

“I’m glad that the energy has returned. But since it’s your beginning… What is your initial intention?”

Cloud grinned at Frilite’s question.

“Secret.”

Frilite’s brow furrowed.

  1. LOL Nah LOL Nah says:

It’s from a another previous life from when he was summoned to a world before this one.

  2. Shengs Shengs says:

It’s hard to imagine he has an affection towards the three. He’s simply a guy inserted into another’s body. I don’t think I’ve seen text that says he inherited the memories. I think in the earlier chapter, the memories came in for of a letter? So he didn’t adopt the original’s feelings. “A dream in which I overcame danger with my colleagues” The three hoes weren’t in danger tho? It must refer to his past life, or atleast he feels guilt on how the dungeoning turned out.
