Became a Master of the Academy’s Hidden Skills

I don’t remember much of the story, but I remember thinking it is at least a decent story and it seems I’ve read till ch 100, so I think it’s at least not poison. So I’ll put this on my ever increasing read later list since I’m taking a break from mtl for a bit.

What I remember is disjointed but it is basically:
MC is playing a character whose special skill is something like Ding Dong Ding Dong or whatever that no one knows what it even do. He got send another world when he failed to kill the final boss again. Go to academy, lead his class, getting the ability to use his other save file version of his character, send back to the past, fight his past mentor turned evil because of love, etc. And the heroine I remember is that one princess girl from an isolated location that reminds me of Lucy from How to Survive at the Academy, only not as OP.

The mc in this novel is ridiculously competant to an almost inhuman degree, in a good way. He’s pretty badass in the way he takes down enemies way above his level with scams, will, and strategy. Not exactly ground breaking stuff but very fun. Ecspecially when he plays games with other students. He still can’t predict everything, and has an extremely rough backstory to explain his experties. He gets op quickly but it feels earned considering all he goes through. He as a poisoned 7 year old mines stones until his hands are so covered in callouses that they look like a demons. He spends 10 years in the wilderness to improve his body and senses. Goes through hellish training under his sensei. Does things in such an animal like way it gives him a title. My favorite novel on this site.

Having said that, character development is minimal and the story isn’t anything to grand.

Story is basically about a person playing a game like Final Fantasy where he took a character with same name as his as the party leader or main character. Game character had bad stats and a hidden skill like Weakness Finder or more simply a Path Finder which shows the character the way to victory.

Character itself was weak and had main skill which was kinda useless but has an ability to take any number of hidden skills, others can only take 1 in their play through. Due to this the Game Character get a decent power spike as you collect more hidden skills. Our MC tried to defeat the end boss and in the end try the Path Finder skill. That skill showed the way to how to defeat the boss, Character jumped to the boss and died but he had something in hand which called MC to the game world, basically Game Character found the only way to defeat the Final Boss was to force MC to take his place.

System here is more like a Game System. It will show notifications if you start some quest or get an achievement. The person above said that System is forcing MC to do the quest. In the first stage MC had a quest to steal the map or die, he had only one chance to do that and if he didn’t he would have been killed one way or another as he was a miner who can get replaced any day. System was not wrong in forcing such a quest. And quest itself appeared only when MC went to a specific place where map existed.

Quest forces Mc to things or die. The novel is crap when the Mc is forced to do what the system wants as this shows the author’s in capability to make Mc’s actions look natural, instead author has to insert in a system to make Mc do certain things or die.

So the moment i sees system quest that has a death penalty for failing a quest I’m jumping ship
