Chapter 143 – Unexpected things always happen outside the house
The first thing our team did when they found a food pantry in the basement was the amount of food in the pantry. It was to figure out how much.
The combat team leader, Jason, asked how long it would take to inspect all the items inside the warehouse, and I replied that it would take a couple of hours.
“You mean a couple of hours, maybe more?”
“That’s right. It’s going to take some time, since the warehouse is large and contains a variety of items.”
A rough estimate of a couple of hours was the amount of time it took simply to calculate detailed items such as grains, meat, fish, liquids, spices, and drinking water.
This food warehouse built underground was a very large building.
Now I have only guessed that the building was built for the purpose of supplying food to the area around the site.
Otherwise, there is no reason to build it so large that a simple calculation would take more than a couple of hours.
If this food warehouse built in the basement of this building were the food storage of a family home, no matter how big it was, one room would be enough.

A single room can store enough food for a family of four to live on for a month or two.
However, this food warehouse we are currently investigating was the size of five or six rooms combined.
Unsurprisingly, the number of food items in it would be enormous.
Even the footprints on the dust piled up on the floor were only ours.
In other words, we were the first to enter this place.
“As a rule of thumb, it would take more than two hours, which means there’s a huge amount of food stored.”
“It’s probably like that. I’m guessing that this food warehouse was built to supply food to the ruins.”
“It seems like that to me. In our manor, we built a large warehouse like this, stored food there, and distributed it to the residents.”
Jason’s words made me interested in the manor he lived in.
“If the food is distributed by the territory, is it paid if the crop is ruined that year due to a disaster?”

There is plenty of food and plenty of drinking water.
Indeed, it was a perfect space to stay for the purpose of holding out until the end of practice.
“Then let’s make this a temporary base and stay there until the end of practice. Does anyone have any objections?”
No one objected to Jason’s statement that he would make this place a temporary base.
If someone would argue that staying here doesn’t fit the purpose of the practice, no one raised an objection, so it was safe to assume that everyone had the same idea.
‘If you get out of here, you’re a high school student!’
The most important thing in survival is securing stable food and securing a base to avoid threats.
In that respect, we were several steps ahead of the other teams, having food, sleeping, and maintenance space.
“Among the evaluation scores, it is said that securing a safe base is also included in the score. Perhaps, in that respect, we can say that it is close to perfect.”
“However, if there is one deduction factor, it would be that I found the food by accident rather than securing it myself. But in that case, I’ll be able to solve it.”
A very picky evaluator might have a bad opinion of our stay here.
However, the reason we found this place was that I, the leader of the support team, had found this place using my knowledge.
If we say that we discovered this place through the knowledge we knew from our adventurer days, the evaluators will have no choice but to acknowledge us.
In the end, what we wanted to see in practice was how well we use the knowledge we know in practice.
“Then, now that we have secured our base, let’s see what we need to do to survive here.”
“Good.”
Jason and I took out our backpacks the mission cards distributed by the school as the group leaders.
This task list could be described as a kind of task list, with what we have to do during this practice period.

“I was thinking of bringing something else, but I didn’t bring it because I thought it would be inconvenient to move because it would only add weight if I had to bring something I wouldn’t use.”
“Good job. Knowing how to distinguish necessary from unnecessary is also included in the evaluation.”
As I just said, distinguishing between necessary and unnecessary items was an important part of the evaluation criteria.
I’m not sure how the score is calculated, but I’m guessing that something will be scored based on the documents you marked to see what items you took in your backpack.
Anyway, that’s just my opinion, and I have nothing to say about the specific scoring.
In this exercise, my goal was to lead my team members and help the combat team fight properly.
It’s a bit sad that you can’t cut down monsters with your own sword, but what can you do?
Since following Nina and learning the subjects of the Department of Healing, I rarely had to use a sword.
I was holding a pen instead of a sword, fighting the problems written in the book rather than fighting monsters, and making potions not to heal wounds but to submit assignments.
Who would see me like this and think I’m a white reaper?

Actually, this was also half my intention.
After sorting out our luggage to some extent, we brought various ingredients other than meat from the food warehouse and prepared meals so that the combat team could eat when they returned.
Thanks to one of the members of the crew bringing cooking utensils, there was no difficulty in cooking the ingredients.

However, the return of the combat team was strangely slow.
