Became an Academy Self-Inflicted Blackmailer chapter 15

15 - Suggestion(2)

15 – Suggestion(2)

‘…… What is this man?’

Beatrice was taken aback. He had no choice but to do so.

I really never imagined that I would hear the name of Flugel’s demonic sword right now.

It’s a secret that even the gold dragon didn’t know about.

That’s the plan that the Holy Church has thoroughly hidden.

Even so, in a place like this, it wasn’t a story worth hearing through the mouth of an unexpected opponent.

Beatrice bit his lip. It was one of her unconscious quirks that she would display when she was deeply embarrassed.

‘Did it leak?’

When, where, through whom?

I didn’t know. There is not a single part that can be guessed at.

Even though it was the Holy Church’s plan, it wasn’t a soft enough plan that all the clerics belonging to the church knew about it.

It was a mission to infiltrate the academy, which is no different from the gold dragon’s lair, and investigate the ‘underground’.

Considering its importance, it was the yard where Beatrice, the core of the core of the church, entered the academy. When it comes to leaking gaps, the scope of what can be recalled is considerably narrowed.

‘…… How?’

That’s why I was even more perplexed. Beatrice felt genuinely confused.

It was Beatrice’s plan, no one else’s, to enter the academy as a special admissions student and end up in the middle of enemy lines.

She shared the plan with the emperor, weighed the possibilities, and chose the safest and most reliable method.

With the help of cardinals and bishops, she finally succeeded in safely entering the academy.

It was said that there were less than 10 people within the church who knew about this.

…… To that extent, Gold Dragon Tsumei. She wouldn’t have had any chance for the woman to notice her.

Beatrice’s expression changed sadly.

The word ‘introvert’ came to mind in her complicated mind, but she struggled to ignore it.

There was something more urgent than continuing those thoughts right now.

Her wavering eyes scan the boy in front.

The silver hair fluttering unnecessarily, and the blue eyes shining through the cracks, did not waver at all.

I said ‘Dante. For sure.’

Remember the name.

She met her eyes at the same time.

She wanted to slap that sloppy mug right away, but that didn’t suit her saintly dignity. Beatrice knew how to control her own emotions.

…… At least, in a public setting.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

She obviously didn’t think much of it until just a moment ago. She suspected that there might be some kind of hidden relationship, but that means she wasn’t really wary of her partner.

She thought that, at best, she was an acquaintance of the Gold Dragon, and thanks to that, she would have been a special admissions student.

She is a boy who is literally just him, nothing more and nothing less.

Actually, Beatrice’s judgment was not that strange.

If it’s natural, should we say it’s natural?

I couldn’t feel the presence of mana in Dante’s body. Bizarrely.

There were two main hypotheses that could be established.

One is that the opponent’s body does not contain even a handful of mana.

At first, Beatrice also considered this possibility.

It was a normal thought process, and a conclusion that would normally be infallible.

It is because the probability was too low to predict the possibility of the ‘second hypothesis’ being correct.

A story so absurd that it has absolutely no value to consider.

‘…… Really?’

Beatrice swallowed the silence.

The second hypothesis.

Because the opponent’s mana control was far superior, Beatrice’s ability was incapable of estimating its depth.

As the possibilities that she didn’t want to believe or didn’t want to believe began to emerge, Beatrice involuntarily frowned.

This is nonsense. It was an odd idea.

Who are you? A saint of the Holy Church, a symbol of purity bestowed by God.

No matter how outstanding a person was, she couldn’t fool her eyes and senses. She had to be gone.

At the very least, it is impossible to show such a disparity unless you are a swordsman or Tsumei.

Beatrice’s complexion turned pure white for an instant.

Her head, which had hardened before I knew it, began to roll wildly and draw out her absurd delusions.

Dante introduced himself as an aide to Tsumei.

Come to think of it, maybe she just said that she was friendly, but that was okay. In Beatrice’s mind, it was already an established fact that Dante’s identity was the dragon’s henchman.

‘He’ is an aide to the Gold Dragon. I won’t be weak at all

The possibility that he was hiding his power, and the possibility that he had achieved a level higher than himself, which was still insufficient at this point, could not be ignored.

He looks infinitely young, no matter how good he thinks, he doesn’t seem to be more than a year or two older than himself.

Right now, the head of this academy, in other words, Tsumei, was a girl with a flawless appearance. Appearance was not a very important factor for the strong people who had reached the stage.

A trickle of cold sweat ran down Beatrice’s white cheek.

‘How old are you? Fifty or sixty? If that’s not the case, aren’t you not human at all?’

Inside her, Dante was already in a situation where it was determined that she was something like an alien monster.

Beatrice began to be extremely wary. Since she couldn’t figure out Dante’s identity, she was careful and looked at it for now.

The moment she found out the heartless truth, she would be engulfed in severe shock, but well, that wasn’t something the present Beatrice could know. Very unfortunately.

In any case, the delusion was spreading without knowing how to stop. It was a constant expansionist move.

‘…… The gold dragon said he already knew this. But he’s still leaving me alone? Why?’

While trying to somehow guess the dragon’s intentions, Beatrice recalled a word that Dante proudly said to her just before.

-Flugel’s demonic sword. Can you show me where it’s kept?

‘…… Ugh.’

I am out of breath. Beatrice pressed her lips firmly together with her lips.

She was unprepared, and she felt as though she had been hit by a series of sudden and swift attacks.

Even that went as Dante had hoped, but Beatrice did not realize that his purpose was her confusion itself.

I just think. He endlessly racks his brain, trying to figure out his opponent’s purpose and true intentions.

‘The gold dragon has already seen through all my plans. Still he didn’t touch it. I just left it alone so that I could enter the academy. …… There must be a purpose for that.’

Like putting together a complicated puzzle, Beatrice gathered the pieces of information she was holding in her hands and put them together.

Her eyes shone quite sharply.

‘…… First of all, the dragon is leaving me unattended right now. Since it can be dealt with at any time, are you saying you want to watch it for now? Either way good news for me. Anyway, it means you’re not paying attention.’

One, the dragon was currently caught off guard.

For this side, it was an opportunity if it was good, and if it was bad, it was being looked down upon.

Beatrice continued her thoughts without taking her eyes off Dante for a moment.

‘Dante. Why did this man approach me? It doesn’t look like the dragon gave a separate order.’

Two, the boy in front of him approached Beatrice.

And then I handed over her proposal. He said he would guide you to the place where the magic sword is stored.

There must be some hidden purpose behind that proposal.

Beatrice was not naive enough to accept the hand of kindness from an unknown person.

‘But, it’s okay.’

She wasn’t bad though. Beatrice’s expression became more calm.

No matter how much he hides his true intentions, it is because the current situation is not literally the ‘worst’.

Gather the evidence she has and come to a conclusion.

1. Tsumei doesn’t seem to want to approach her yet. If she did, she would have used her hand long ago.

2. Even so, Dante, her aide, secretly revealed her true feelings to her. She seems to be hoping for something.

3. And perhaps, in the process, Dante disobeyed Tsumei’s instructions. The proof was that she brought out her words, ‘I will guide you to the place where the magic sword is stored’.

‘…… Whoa, good.’

Taking a breath, Beatrice calmed her mind.

Her head is definitely cold now.

It meant that we had entered a stage where we could make relatively normal judgments (?).

…… At least the person concerned seemed to think so.

Beatrice’s expression became quite confident.

That strangely conceited expression came from the thought that she had grasped Dante’s intentions to some extent.

It was literally baseless confidence.

“I think I know what you mean.”

At that point, Beatrice opened her mouth, and Dante tilted her head.

“Yes?”

From noble mtl dot com

“In short, you mean to defy the dragon of your own will?”

A voice full of conviction. In his expression and eyes, a meaningless composure was revealed.

“…… Uh, didn’t you hear that?”

From Dante’s point of view, it was a completely incomprehensible turn of events.

“There is nothing to pretend to be.”

Of course, Dante’s sincere questioning did not reach Beatrice, unfortunately.

She went on with her shrug.

“You seem to have not abandoned your loyalty to the dragon, but you know that too, right? How dangerous that demonic sword is.”

“… ….”

“That’s why I’m making this suggestion to you. I couldn’t betray her, but in order to break her Flügel’s magic sword somehow. You can’t go out on your own, so try to use me.”

“… ….”

“How about it, am I wrong?”

Beatrice finished her words, her eyes still unmoving.

He seemed quite confident in his guess.

“…… Uh… ….”

And at that point Dante had to make a decision too.

He rolled his eyes here and there, then blurted out his words for a while, then tapped his forearm as if to organize his thoughts.

“…… You are indeed a saint of purity.”

As if this would be all right, he awkwardly avoided his gaze and nodded his head heavily.

“I thought I was hiding my true feelings, but it’s useless in front of the saintess’ eyes. I never thought it would come out like this.”

“As expected… ….”

Dante’s voice and tone were certainly subtle.

However, Beatrice at this moment did not notice such a subtle difference.

Simply satisfied that his predictions came true, he leaned his back against the wall, unaware that there was something wrong with his guesses and arguments.

A satisfied smile appeared on her face.

‘Is this right… ….’

Of course, even at that moment, Dante was just looking at the distant mountains with a shy expression.

He thought.

She wondered if the day would come when this saintess would know the truth someday, and she would look for her mouse hole out of embarrassment and shame.

Well, as a result, she was an illusion and misunderstanding that benefited him, so she had no intention of correcting it.

  1. I love this story so far, but just the way its written particularly hurts my brain sometimes. A book that’s got an off kilter writing style, combined with sorta choppy MTL
