Civil Servant in a Romance Fantasy chapter 74

Warm Southern Territory - 5

Warm Southern Territory – 5

I think I know why he was called a god in the past because he didn’t die gracefully and left behind a terrible curse. What is the god of the sea, as the captain said, this is the god of disaster.

“Huhhhhh”

Irina, who was trying to hold back her crying somehow, collapsed once, and as it was, she cried out loud without caring about her face. It was to the extent that I thought it was fortunate that the wizard leader was sent back quickly as he cried for the world to leave.

In the meantime, I found out that when people are really sad and distracted, they cry so desperately that the viewer gets sick of it. It was a face-saving cry that could only be done when one was still conscious.

Of course, it wasn’t information I really wanted to know, and it was information I shouldn’t have known.

‘I should have gone back too.’

Seeing Irina crying to the point of feeling sad, I wonder if it would have been appropriate to leave her seat, but leaving the crying child alone among her kraken corpses would be nothing to do. Even down… A crying child.

Inadvertently, I lowered my gaze down to the stream of water and hurriedly raised it. If Irina noticed seeing the crystal of shame, she might go far away to the sea and never come back.

‘What can I do with this?’

Really what? What to soothe?

I don’t care, don’t you worry? In front of a person who is no different from the enemy of the family, I did not have to worry too much. Did i not see anything? To the point of damnation, just saying such a thing itself has a strong meaning that you have seen something.

What on earth can I do to soothe the heart of a 17-year-old high school girl who has been hit hard by her sensitivity? It’s a very difficult problem.

“Irina, hold on.”

“Huh?”

I carefully picked up Irina, who seemed to be hoarse from crying. I’m sorry to put my hand on a child who’s afraid to even be by my side, but this is the only way I can think of right now. If you leave it like this, you will collapse from dehydration.

With her body hardened, they tried to avoid Irina, who was looking up at her face, covered in tears, and they both went into the sea to the extent that her body was soaked.

“I was in contact with the monster’s bodily fluids, so I didn’t know. If I wash it like this, it won’t be a big deal.”

Actually, it doesn’t matter if you don’t wash it. The Kraken is troublesome when it is alive and moving, and it does not care about bodily fluids spilled when it dies.

However, I can’t keep Irina in a state where her lower body is uncomfortable. I know it’s a weird logic, but in my head, this was the best. Kraken like this dog. If you’re going to die, you have to die gracefully.

“Let’s go back. You must be very surprised, so you should rest.”

“…Yeah…”

Looking at the small answers, I think I’ve calmed down a little bit. It may seem absurd to get into the sea after lifting my body without permission, but I’m glad it gave me an opportunity to shed some tears that had been raging like a storm. Originally, when you go through something absurd, your emotional flow breaks.

‘Now how does his face look?’

However, this moment has passed, and the things I went through today have not disappeared. I will never see Irina again. I will also grit this and avoid it.

Many people would be surprised if someone who said he would be away from today would return in less than a day. Even more so if you come back wet with someone completely unrelated.

“Brother? Irina?”

That doubt was proven when he ran into Louise who was coming down the stairs. It seemed very confusing to look at Irina and I with wide eyes at the unexpected meeting.

“I’m back. Work ended earlier than expected.”

“It’s fortunate. It’s sad when you go to work and die.”

I was worried about that too, but it was over in one day. Although the price was a bit hefty.

As I nodded my head slightly in affirmation, Louise quickly walked over and examined my body.

“Then why are you so wet? Where did you fall?”

“The waves were a bit strong. I got hit while passing by.”

“Be careful…”

In the first place, unlike Irina who was wearing a swimsuit, I went into the sea in casual clothes. Still, thanks to that, a young lady’s tears stopped, so I think it’s a good sacrifice.

“Irina, when did you go out? Are you feeling better?”

“Ugh, yeah. It’s a little better.”

“It’s fortunate. I was worried a lot.”

Seeing Louise laughing while holding Irina’s hand, Irina’s eyes fell on her floor. She’s been faking it. But let alone her doubts, she must feel bad seeing Louise so happy.

“I met you on the way and came with you. You look tired, but let me rest.”

“Oh, yes!”

It would be better to leave it to Louise than to have me by her side, so I avoided the seat appropriately. She told me to let her rest, so Louise must take good care of it.

“That, oh, brother.”

As she tried to pass Louise, she heard Irina’s voice behind her. On the first day of dispatch, when I didn’t know I was the head of the inspection department, I called him once and never heard of him after that.

When I looked behind her, Irina, who was hesitant, lowered her waist. No, she doesn’t have to do that.

“Thank you…”

“Thank you. It’s no big deal.”

It’s very embarrassing to hear a thank you from someone from Count Yorun, not from anyone else.

***

It felt like the sky was falling. I showed a side of myself that I couldn’t show to my family or even my closest friends, to the person I shouldn’t have shown it to.

It’s over. My life is over… As a woman and as a person, my life is over… If I had known it would be like this, I would have been eaten by a squid earlier.

After that, I cried for a really long time. As soon as his mouth opened, he cried as soon as his voice came out. Face? I’ve already been drowned in that sea, so what’s the face? I’m already finished, to the inspector general, ‘It’s the same color as your hair, perhaps because it came out of your body.’ I can’t refute it even if I hear it.

“Irina, hold on.”

I never imagined that the director of the inspection department would lift up my body all of a sudden. I couldn’t even go to the sea in that state.

‘Am I going to soak it like this?’

The more the inspector general went into the sea, the more my body was submerged, the more I thought that. ‘Seeing them grow tired in front of me, the Count Yorun is guilty!’ Are you going to send it like this? I wanted to struggle later, but my body stiffened and I couldn’t move.

But the inspector general only walked until my body got wet. Far from throwing or letting go, I held it tightly so that it would not shake.

“I was in contact with the monster’s bodily fluids, so I didn’t know. If I wash it like this, it won’t be a big deal.”

At those words, I just stared blankly at the inspector general.

‘Why?’

It was only now that I was able to properly see the expression on the director’s face. The inspector general was holding me and making an expression that was neither annoyance, contempt, nor ridicule. At least it wasn’t expressionless.

I am embarrassed and sorry about this situation. It was clearly an expression of such emotion.

‘Why…?’

Why are you making that face? Why are you, the enemy of my family, doing this to me? I’m so avoiding and so scared, why are you coming this way? Why do you care so much

I’d rather ignore it. If so, they may be dismissed as being unlucky in a natural disaster called the Inspection Department. Why do you keep showing strange things, giving strange consideration?

Why do you make me feel strange?

‘Why the hell.’

I hate you, I really hate you.

“Let’s go back. You must be very surprised, so you should rest.”

But the thing I hate more than anyone else.

“…Yeah…”

It’s me who is thrilled by you.

I bit my lip and lowered my head. She didn’t even say anything on the way back to her lodgings. My heart is so complicated right now. I don’t even know what the hell that feeling is.

So even if Louise, whom I met at the inn, found out that I had gone outside, I couldn’t properly explain it. Even so, I felt sorry for Louise, who believed in me and worried about me. I’m sorry, if I knew this was going to happen, I wouldn’t have lied then.

As I looked down at the floor blankly for a while, I heard the sound of going up the stairs.

‘Ah.’

Go first. Cowardly shake my heart

“That, oh, brother.”

I felt sorry for calling him urgently. Oppa, come on, oppa. What would you think if you pretended to be friendly while avoiding it like that… No, it’s a waste to call that person an older brother.

Still, since you saved someone from almost dying, wouldn’t it be natural for you to say “Oppa”? That’s right, you called me that when we first met anyway. Yes. No problem, nothing strange.

“Thank you…”

I’m just saying thank you. It is natural for a human being to say thank you for saving someone’s life, even if it is a family enemy or a person you hate.

“Thank you. It’s no big deal.”

I closed my eyes at the voice of my brother who answered calmly.

As expected, he is a coward. It only shakes my heart with words like that. What a coward.

***

The Captain saw the Kraken subjugated, and the wizard leader even checked the corpse. I sent it first, so the news must have reached the Golden Ball.

– Good job. I didn’t expect it to end in less than a day.

I didn’t know that I would be contacted as soon as I entered the room. Ah, this resort belongs to Golden Ball. I think the staff informed me.

“I was lucky.”

– Don’t be too modest. What will become of my vassals who suffered while you were gone?

“I’m a little better.”

– Yeah, how nice to look at it.

I said that because I thought I wanted this kind of reaction, but I don’t know if I know Golden Ball’s sensibility. What is good about being confident? After all, each of the dukes is unique in some way.

– Oh, and the reward. I guess I’ll have to make some adjustments.

“Yes?”

Could this bastard be eating?

No, it can’t be. No matter how unexpectedly it ended on the same day, there was no way the Golden Ball would do such a nasty thing.

– Didn’t his radius of action widen compared to when I first asked you? It wasn’t mentioned in the promise, so I’ll have to apply it anew.

“Oh, yes.”

– And prevented human casualties? At least, the tourism industry was hit hard. You have to take that into account too.

A golden ball that spreads his five fingers while doing so.

– This should be enough.

“Thank you, sir.”

Increased from 30% to 50%.

Yes, the Golden Ball has always been a fair person.

As expected, the golden ball of cool trade.

Jesus Christ, didn’t think I’d run into another commenter with no brain cells here. Must have read too many other MTL stories without translations and burned away all their mental faculties to make such a stupid comment as that.

Getting wet over the guy who almost genocided your family? Now that’s a certified Woman Moment.

afaik, the mc is not the one who made the mistake. Someone else in the prosecutor’s department made the mistake, they got executed, and THEN mc took over. He took responsability to apologize for to the family and compensate them, but he’s not actually the one who persecuted them.
