Genius Warlock chapter 228

Genius Warlock 228

228. Return from vacation (2)

‘Well·····. It’s strange too.’

Oliver thought as he passed through the main gate of the tower and arrived at the elemental school tower located inside the site.

For some reason, it seemed that people were increasingly paying attention to him. That’s one or two out of ten.

Of course, it may not be a huge number, but the horse tower is the same size as a small city.

There were too many people to match its size, so if you count one or two out of ten, it was quite a lot.

In other words, it wasn’t something that could just be skipped over.

“Who is that? It’s a personal employee of Hong-in.”

“right.”

“Is that person tied with Derek? It doesn’t look like anything.”

“I agree too.”

“It was just a practice match, so maybe it was a rough match?”

“Where’s the guy who looks at you like that?”

“I heard you were playing with Derek?”

“No, I said it was urgent to stop it.”

“I was told it was going to be tight.”

“Whatever it is, you’re saying it’s a draw with a defective product with aplasia?”

“Kick kick. That’s right. My self-esteem hurts.”

Oliver thought he was mistaken, but the warlock’s piercing eyes and the gossip around him were telling him that he wasn’t.

Several students in the tower were watching him.

Some were just curiosity and interest, while others lit up feelings such as displeasure and suspicion.

The fortunate thing was that the depth was not deep or serious, and it was shallow.

It’s not certain, but if you keep quiet for a few days, everyone will forget it.

I wanted to apply for a vacation again after looking at chores, but after hearing another gossip, I decided to quit soon.

“But, why haven’t you seen it yet?”

“I didn’t even apply for vacation, and I didn’t come out for a few days.”

“How many days? What is it, other masters don’t do that?”

“What do I know? What’s important is that Kevin, that filthy bastard isn’t saying anything.”

“Isn’t that a vicious personality like the color of his skin? How many times have I heard the professors swear?”

“So····. I hear you say what kind of mastermind. I don’t know why you’re under a professor like Kevin.”

It didn’t seem like it would be quiet after a few more days off. Maybe even more strange rumors spread.

You’re the master… I just wondered what had happened while Oliver wasn’t on the tower.

‘After all, was it not a good choice to compete with the Matop students?’

It wasn’t terribly strange. Oliver, too, had expressed concerns about this just before the match.

Kevin, too, only said it would be slightly better to stand out a little bit, but never said it wouldn’t be a problem.

The fact that he often went on vacation regardless of whether he was competing was also a notable factor.

Even Oliver could not help but stand out even more because he took a break without an official application.

Of course, if there wasn’t an unfair part, it wasn’t. The reason I took the vacation without permission was because Kevin said so.

But Oliver thought for a moment and then shook his head.

Whatever it was, it was he who made the choice, and if he received consideration, he received no harm from Kevin.

I was not in a position to blame anyone.

If you were going to take care of all these things in the first place, you wouldn’t have even entered the tower.

Whatever anyone said, the primary responsibility rested with Oliver himself.

‘First of all, the order is to go to the professor and ask. I don’t understand what’s going on.’

Oliver thought so, and got into the elevator.

***

“It’s been a long time without contact.”

Dunbar, dressed in a well-groomed black haircut and a luxurious suit that rivaled the other professors, greeted Oliver with an impeccable attitude.

····Oh, correct. Strictly speaking, it wasn’t welcome.

He seemed too busy to greet anyone. Even if it wasn’t the slightly rough skin, the dark circles just formed under the eyes, and the slightly faded vitality due to fatigue, I could tell just by looking at the documents and textbooks piled up on the desk.

“Are you very busy?”

“little.”

Kevin didn’t deny it.

“I took three classes. Besides, I can’t properly allocate my schedule for research, and I feel like I’m 1.5 times busier because I’m too busy.”

It was a fact, not an exaggeration. You could tell by looking at his emotional state and Kevin’s character he had seen so far.

He wasn’t bluffing or ostentatious.

“The increase in chores for each class also plays a part.”

oh····. The moment he heard that, Oliver apologized. Because it was none other than Oliver himself who had to share the chores instead.

But Kevin’s reaction was not at all.

“I’m sorry? done. You can’t even think like that.”

Taken from n̲o̲b̲l̲e̲m̲t̲l̲.̲c̲o̲m̲

Not just words, but sincerity. Kevin soon explained the reason himself.

“At first, I had no staff. In other words, what I am doing now is what I should have been doing. It’s not for you to care.”

oh····. It was then that I understood what he was saying.

As Kevin said, originally Kevin had no staff. Merlin, Kevin, and the man from the tower have talked about it once.

Kevin, who is a red man, had a hard time finding an employee, and Kevin also had no intention of finding an old-fashioned employee.

Oliver’s appointment as Kevin’s employee was just a sudden decision by Merlin.

In other words, as Kevin said, Oliver didn’t have to be sorry whether he was on vacation or not. To put it bluntly, this task was originally just Kevin’s responsibility.

But for some reason, Oliver was a little uncomfortable to just let it go. In any case, he was an employee of his own Kevin, and didn’t he say that he was helping with the work?

“I’m sorry though. I can go on vacation again, but until then, I will help again.”

He apologized for taking a vacation, but he said he would go on vacation again.

Rather than displeasure, he shone with a sense of absurdity.

“That is a very arbitrary word. I’m sorry, but I’m going on vacation again. Well, I have no intention of arguing that this was the case in the first place, but then, wouldn’t it be better not to apologize?”

“But I’m sorry because I’m sorry.”

“I mean, you’re saying that what you want to apologize for is more important than my feelings?”

Oliver paused at the unexpected question. I’ve never heard of such a story, and I never thought about it… It certainly didn’t sound like a bad story.

For Oliver, what he felt sorry for was more important than Kevin’s situation or mood.

“Well····. That seems to be correct. I never thought of it from that perspective… sorry.”

At the apology that followed, Kevin frowned as if he was facing a riddle.

“If I can, I want to lock you up in a lab and observe you for a decade. If you don’t understand how to apologize, I’m serious… Well, I wonder if you’re the only one who is selfish in this place.”

After Kevin spoke with mixed emotions, he went back to work on the paperwork.

“great····. If you want, let me share the work again. However, I will no longer be handing out paperwork related to classes. Also, if you go on vacation, your work will only increase due to takeover.”

When it comes to paperwork related to classes, reading books or thesis and finding materials necessary for class content was Oliver’s personal favorite.

I work and study.

“From now on, I will only entrust you with simple tasks. Any complaints? tell me if Because you can leave.”

“no. None at all.”

“… well, fine. First of all, I left the class schedule material in your office, so read it and understand it today. Fortunately, there is no class today. You are in charge of preparing for the miscellaneous classes starting tomorrow. Necessary materials, such as setting up a magic battle practice. Any questions?”

After clearing Kevin’s head in his head, Oliver shook his head.

“There is none of what you said.”

The pen, which had been moving slowly, stopped for a moment and then moved again.

“…it sounds like you have a question other than that?”

“you’re right. Could you please allow it?”

“I’d like to tell you to shut up because you’re busy, but I’ll let you in on just one thing to buy a job. Ask a question.”

Originally, I was going to ask about the apocalypse, but I decided to postpone the question in light of Kevin’s workload, mood and circumstances.

It seemed far better to ask when I could get a more detailed answer than I do now.

“While I was on my way to work today, some students looked at me and talked to me.”

“okay?”

It wasn’t a surprise at all. Rather, it was closer to a known reaction.

“Do you have any idea why this is? I don’t quite understand. When I first went to work, no one even looked at me… Is the draw with the Matop student so noteworthy?”

“It could be if an employee suffering from aplasia hadn’t been fighting the Redhill family’s prospect.”

“Are you looking forward to the Red Hill family?”

“Uh, by the way, the Red Hill family is a well-known family in the Agni Small School. Derek Redhill is a colleague, but he belongs to that family. I am very much looking forward to it.”

Oh, I knew that the quality and quantity of magical power in my body was different from other students, but I didn’t know it would be that much.

“Then, was it a mistake to fight after all?”

“I don’t see anything like that. The buzzing now will subside in less than a week. After you went on vacation, it was noisy for a day or two, but then it calmed down. When I see you again, I’m just shy for a moment. If you stand still for a few days, it will subside. It’s not easy to keep an eye on one incident here.”

“ah·····. Is that so?”

Oliver answered. It was an explanation that exactly matched the emotional state he had seen. Shallow and light interest.

“Honestly, the interest in you is not that great. To be honest, I’m more interested in Derek being humiliated than I am interested in you.”

“Why?”

“The horse tower is a place where competition and politics come into play, and the only thing you can be happy about is your own achievements or the misfortunes of others. Would you like to know more?”

Oliver nodded. I was interested because I had read a story about it in the diaries or journals of the wizards I defeated.

“Then, I’ll tell you later. Not now, because I’m busy. You, too, go to your seat and do what I told you to do.”

Kevin stopped the story at the funniest part. Oliver regretted it, but decided to follow Kevin’s advice.

It was true that he was busy, and as Kevin said, we could listen to it later. Oliver decided to do his job first.

***

Kevin wasn’t wrong.

People showed interest in Oliver on the first day of work after vacation, but when he went to work the next day, the number was cut in half, and after three or four days, he turned his attention to Oliver as if he had forgotten everything.

It was the moment when Kevin’s words that it was difficult to continuously receive attention from the tower were proved.

Oliver realized that he had been worrying unnecessarily, and concentrated on his task.

It wasn’t particularly difficult.

Kindly Kevin kept a weekly class schedule in Oliver’s staff room, so Oliver could easily follow up on lessons he missed while on vacation.

He always told me the necessary preparations and dating, etc. All Oliver had to do was prepare it when he had the right amount of time.

Other than that, all the work was simple errands and chores that occurred in between.

There was nothing too difficult compared to before… No, I could see that it was a little easier.

I don’t know if it was because of the match with Derek, but it was because the students and other staff members of the tower had become more gentle with Oliver.

Previously, he was a reluctant outsider, but now he recognized him as an insider in his own way.

Thanks to this, there was no case of being bullied and taking on work, and I was able to be called along with other employees and receive a relatively fair share of work.

Personally, it wasn’t too bad for Oliver.

Because I was able to get to know other employees and to talk a word or two. And as time passed, I was able to exchange greetings with the students as well.

It was the students who were taking Kevin’s class, and most of them were students who didn’t get attention at the tower, but sometimes, students with high grades spoke to them as well.

Most of those students had some kind of intention, but wouldn’t it be important to have a conversation anyway?

So, after returning from vacation, Oliver was easily adjusting to the horse tower.

That is, until the matop administration asks for support.

“Why are you telling me to go to Kangchon, Northland?”

Kevin looked at the official from the matop administration department and asked.
