Genius Warlock chapter 23

Genius Warlock 23

23. Call (2)

Oliver followed the letter and entered Joseph’s room.

The room in the basement was the most luxurious place, but Oliver went to the place where he was told, as if he was not interested.

right next to the bed.

There was a small chest of drawers and a lamp that worked with magic stones.

Oliver put away the lamp as the letter instructed, and whimpered and pushed the chest of drawers aside.

Then I could see a small safe under the wall, as written in the letter.

“Well····.”

Oliver pulled out the letter again and checked the password.

“4·····. 7······. 8····. 19·····. 24·····. 2······. 41… 5··········”

The dial in the middle of the huge lump of iron moved and then clicked.

When there was a gap in the locked safe door, I pulled the door open, and I could see the metal storage boxes piled up one after another.

Oliver grabbed locker number three and pulled it out.

A storage box that comes soft as if it was painted with oil.

It was so long that I couldn’t see the end of it, and the elongated locker was filled with bundles of large sums of cash.

Even with the amount of money filled in one locker, a large amount of money that most people cannot accumulate in their lifetime.

However, Oliver did not get excited or even agitated at seeing such a large sum of money, just putting the money in a mechanically prepared bag.

“Take 30 100,000 Randa tickets…. One, two, three·····.”

The piles of money piled up gradually filled the bag.

“···. Twenty-nine… thirty.”

After I had all the money, I triple-locked the backpack.

It was quite heavy, but it would have been quite difficult if it hadn’t been for a large amount of money.

Oliver pushed the metal locker into the safe, closed the safe door, and moved the chest of drawers and the magic lamp into place.

It was the same as the first time, but then I put the bag on my back, tied the locking strap to the body, and went outside.

When I went up outside the factory, Marie and Peter and other students were gathered.

“···. what? Everyone get together?”

One of the senior disciples answered.

“Ah, you are leaving at the master’s order, but it seems polite to see everyone off together… Any problem?”

Oliver touched his body.

“Yeah, not really….”

Just then, Marie approached cautiously and fixed the wrinkles on Oliver’s top, coat, and trousers.

Then, he carefully placed the newsboy cap over his head.

“It would be inconspicuous.”

Oliver touched his hat once and nodded once.

Taken from n̲o̲b̲l̲e̲m̲t̲l̲.̲c̲o̲m̲

Now it was time to depart.

“Follow me. A truck is waiting in front of you.”

The truck was none other than a pharmacist’s truck, and Oliver decided to ride it as well as he was visiting Landa just in time.

Oliver was just about to follow along, but suddenly he had a question and asked a question.

“I have one question, can I ask?”

“Yes? what····.”

“Does the original owner run errands for money like this? How much money is that?”

The disciples who were out, including the senior disciple, looked at each other’s faces.

Everyone tilted their heads as if it was the first time it had happened.

“···. There wasn’t. Usually, you take as much money as you need. If you really need it, send it through the bank or send it by letter.”

Well····. It’s an exceptional case.

Then, another senior disciple spoke.

“But in the first place, the situation itself is a special situation, isn’t it?”

It wasn’t wrong. The reason I left in the first place was to treat Andrew, who was seriously injured.

The lack of money made sense, and it was unreasonable to send such an amount by remittance or mail.

If you do it wrong, you might get some attention.

Convinced, Oliver moved again.

“···. Yes. Let’s go. Good luck everyone.”

“Yes, good-bye.”

“““Yes, good-bye.”””

Oliver went to the truck waiting at the front door.

It was a six-wheeled truck that I rode when I went to fight a wizard, and there was a black porter’s tent hanging over the cargo hold.

“········.”

Oliver stared blankly at the luggage compartment for a moment, not knowing how to climb it.

He was relatively short, so there was no place to put his legs.

“Do you have a ladder?”

“Take my hand.”

A third voice suddenly interrupted.

I looked up and saw a man in the luggage compartment.

He held out his hand and spoke again.

“Take my hand.”

As he took his hand as instructed, the man pulled Oliver up with a vicious force.

“It’s been a while?”

said the man Oliver looked at his face and then recalled a memory.

That was Employee A, a subordinate of the pharmacist.

The man who was in Oliver’s truck when he went to fight the wizard.

“Ah, hello.”

As I recalled my memories, I said goodbye. A smile appeared on the man’s angular face, and he made a gesture to suggest a seat.

“Sit down for now. Although there is no place to sit because of the luggage.”

As if to prove that statement, Employee A sat roughly on the pile of luggage on the floor.

Oliver also followed him and sat on the load.

“········.”

“········.”

“········.”

“········.”

“········.”

“········.”

“Wow, that’s really awkward.”

Employee A looked at Oliver for a long time and said at once.

Oliver didn’t understand what was awkward, but he continued to talk.

“Aren’t you supposed to say something like that?”

“Nothing. I just don’t do it unless I have something to say.”

“why?”

“Then, the supervisor didn’t hit me.”

“Ahh····. right. Most of your kids are like that, aren’t they? But isn’t it all a thing of the past? You are now the second-in-command in a black magic organization, right?”

“no. The second person is still Andrew. I am being treated.”

“Are you going to be pushed out anyway? He was beaten up by the wizard, and you won? Isn’t it about skill?”

“·····. Do you know?”

“Well, if you’re in our organization, you get to know a little bit about you. Other than that, I have a lot of experience in the world. I’ve met a lot of people since then.”

Looking at Employee A’s feelings, it seemed to be true to some extent. It’s a bit pretentious, but it’s within the right range.

“So your knowledge is as wide as the sea and as thin as a finger. Then I settled in this town.”

“Why?”

“·····. Are you curious about that?”

“A little.”

“He’s a funny guy… Well, a lot has happened since then. I’m getting old and I’m almost dying. So now I wanted to settle down somewhere a little safer. In that sense, I envy you.”

“Am I?”

“Oh, seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to do this. I lived thanks to you. You left us right when we were about to die. Otherwise, I would have been beaten up by the wizard. It was not a firepower fight with a regular firearm.”

Employee A’s feelings were sincere. There was also a little bit of envy.

“Why are you envious?”

“Hey, are you fucking kidding me?”

When Oliver did not respond, Employee A asked with a frown.

“You really don’t know?”

“Yes.”

“ah····. Is it true? Why am I envious of you, my goddamn genius? It’s black magic.”

“What is it?”

“Are you going to hit this bastard? I saw how you fight. I see you in my dreams every now and then. Dozens of black blades poured down like rain, and the area exploded… You said you haven’t been here in a while, so you’re a genius, aren’t you? Isn’t life the way it is?”

Oliver didn’t really react. No, the response would be more correct than that.

Let life be solid… To Oliver, these words meant nothing.

Because Oliver’s greatest concern has always been survival, and the only recent additions are black magic and beautiful light.

Other than that, I wasn’t really interested.

The money or power that Employee A spoke of did not elicit Oliver’s inspiration.

When Oliver didn’t show much reaction like this, Employee A said in dismay.

“under····. Is it like the leisure of a genius? Or are geniuses like that?”

“I’m sorry, but honestly, I still don’t know what I’m talking about……. In short, are you saying that I am envious of using black magic?”

“What····. That’s it. Can I not bother carrying a gun?”

“Then, the staff can do it too, right?”

“Mr. staff? Oh, you didn’t tell me my name… By the way, what do you mean by learning black magic? Why, do I have any talent?”

“I do not know?”

“No, Mr. What do you do if you say you are an actor and you don’t know that?”

“Isn’t that better than not doing it?”

Oliver said these words without much thought, but at those words, Employee A’s eyes widened slightly, and he smiled strangely.

“Why would you teach me?”

“If the master allows it.”

“·······. I’m serious?”

“Yes.”

“that’s interesting. They don’t teach warlocks or wizards their knowledge, and they like to suck their marrow.”

“is that so? oh····. Instead, there are conditions.”

“Then yes…. What?”

“When we first met, you seemed to know a lot about wizards, can you teach me what you know?”

“What?”

“About the wizard—”

“—No, no, no. You didn’t hear it, are you serious? Isn’t that a joke?”

“Yes.”

Employee A stared intently at Oliver. And he said seriously.

“I only know a little bit more about wizards than everyone else.”

“That is enough. Or any other story.”

“·····. great. We’ll talk more about it later.”

Oliver nodded. Employee A then nodded with a strange expression on his face.

***

“Come on, we have arrived.”

How many hours have passed? Employee A raised the tent slightly and said.

Landa’s background crept in through the slightly opened tent, and Oliver took a closer look to adjust to the new environment.

The first thing I saw was a big road and the cars that filled the road.

It was so gorgeous and numerous that it could not be compared with Wineham.

However, the difference did not end there. Airships flew in the sky,

There were so many people moving under the long and huge building that it was bizarre.

Compared to Wineham, which is quiet and quiet, it is a den of cockroaches.

Compared to the people in Weinham, who wore only a top and pants, the people here were wearing very colorful clothes overall.

A man in a cape wearing a silk hat, a man with goggles where his eyes should be, a man with a mechanical arm on one side, a woman in tight-fitting clothes that show off her chest, and even a man with a cross on her back.

It was a completely different world.

“You look surprised.”

Employee A said as if he had guessed.

“Yes····. There are so many people.”

Oliver said, looking at the lights so dense that he couldn’t see any gaps.

“Of course. This city is a city that has grown rapidly, eating up numerous cities and rural areas around it. They call it a country within a country.”

“Are you familiar with this place?”

“Then, I used to live here.”

“then-“

As I was about to ask more, the truck stopped on the shoulder and I heard a voice from the driver’s side.

“Come on, you have arrived. get off.”

“Hey, I guess it’s time for us to part.”

Employee A said.

It was a little disappointing, but Oliver nodded his head, as people had priority.

Employee A reached out and said as he was about to get off the truck.

“I wasn’t bored on the way. I want to continue the story I told you earlier.”

“···. Yes, thank you for taking me.”

Oliver answered, holding hands.

As I was about to let go after shaking hands, Employee A took Oliver’s hand again and said:

“Ah, by the way, my name is James, not Mr. James. Call me James from now on.”

“Oh, yes. All right.”

“Then tell me your name.”

“Yes?”

“I know your name, but I want to hear it in person… What is your name?”

Oliver looked at James’ face for a long while before answering.

“It’s Oliver.”
