I Possessed an Academy Without a Protagonist chapter 110

Episode 110. Cathedral Basement (1)

Episode 110. Cathedral Basement (1)

“How much time has passed?”

“Huh? About five minutes…?”

The passage of time was different.

I spent more than a full day in ‘my own memory’.

In reality, he was still waiting to meet the Pope.

“What? Are you asleep?”

“okay······.”

“Is it a nightmare?”

“············”.

It was what Erica said with a sneer.

It seemed ridiculous to ask how long it had been since he suddenly woke up from being bruised in the air.

I shouldn’t have shown agitation in front of my friends.

There was a fear that it would give the impression that the conduct of the war could be hindered.

“Yeah. It was a nightmare.”

Could it not be a nightmare?

I had to spend more than a full day experiencing the loss of my eyes and ears while being crushed by a feeling of hopelessness for no apparent reason.

It’s really hard to describe the fact that a slightly depressed feeling still remains.

“You, but you usually sleep with your eyes open…?”

“Don’t worry. This will never happen during battle.”

“No, that’s not it, I’m worried…”

“I mean, there’s no need to worry.”

“Cee. It’s okay if you do it.”

Feeling offended, Erica sat down.

Thanks to that guy, I barely regained my composure.

Still, he couldn’t turn his head to the side.

I couldn’t look at Iris.

I couldn’t quite figure out what to say.

I’d have to say it though.

Because I am now Schlus.

Iris must have something to say.

Just as he was biting his lips, the door swung open and the cardinal entered.

“I’m really sorry. The Pope has a sudden schedule…”

“We should have contacted you a day ago.”

“I’m sorry, Schlus. I couldn’t figure out what to do….”

The cardinal shook his head.

Seeing the troubled expression on his face, I could understand to some extent what had happened.

There was no sudden schedule for the Pope.

He must have refused to meet with me simply on a whim or for political reasons.

No, I’m not that good of a brain person, so I could have just messed around because I felt bad.

In the end, to summarize, it was, ‘Why didn’t you come to me earlier and play chess, you foolish commoner’.

“Ha·············· Clear.

“Uh, yes.”

He held hands with the cardinal and waved them.

If not as much as Iris, this person was definitely Schluss’ benefactor.

Because he willingly lent his name to avoid the kingdom’s pursuit.

“Did you have any problems because of giving you your last name?”

“hahahahaha. Before you became famous, you had already risen to the rank of cardinal. Even now, rumors of illegitimate or illegitimate things still circulate in the cathedral, but every time they are treated with severe punishment, they don’t spread. hahahaha.”

“············”.

Aha.

It seemed that power had taken care of everything.

It was judged that the adverse effect on his prestige would be small if it were not for the election of the Pope.

I didn’t think there was any need to pay attention just because I was borrowing someone else’s name.

“Shulus. Really. It’s a really difficult question to ask…”

“Do it. You deserve it.”

“Huh. You really haven’t found your mother yet?”

“············”.

There was no way to answer.

Again, I had no choice but to keep my mouth shut and remain silent.

“Don’t get me wrong, just listen. Just by chance. If that’s what I’m thinking…”

“It’s not like that.”

I didn’t like the cardinal’s pitiful gaze.

I was dumbfounded by telling a story I didn’t know, and he was just treating me like the poorest guy in the world.

I don’t know Schlust’s situation well, but here I couldn’t help but pretend to know.

“Alive. It must be alive somewhere. Don’t say that.”

“I’m sorry. I was excused….”

“no.”

We don’t know for sure, but Schlust’s mother will be alive.

I didn’t doubt it that way.

As a matter of fact, my father died in the war.

I was wandering around with bare hair on my body.

If even the last blood relative died, wouldn’t that be too far-fetched?

Besides Marie’s son, there was another person to find.

Of course, it wasn’t that I was going to find Schlus’ mother and take care of her with utmost sincerity as if I had become a filial piety.

I was just going to do the natural thing I did as a child.

That was the minimum responsibility I had to bear for taking Schlus’ body without permission.

“Wow. The Pope is real, too. This man is real. I’ve already said it before, but suddenly I have an appointment.”

“Einz. Such a story in the cathedral…”

“I know. I know, Erica. The saint is still there, so why are you, not very devout, so upset?”

“If you’re not devout, can’t you even point out blasphemy?”

“Yeah, at least…”

“The three of you should go back to the inn first.”

“···········?”

When Erika and Einz were about to start fighting, they cut off the conversation with a loud voice.

I’m tired of looking at it all the time.

And I needed to be alone with Iris.

“Why? What is that, buddy?”

“There is something to see from the inside of Iris and the cathedral.”

“If that’s the case, let’s go together…”

“Ah! Yeah! Come on! We’ll be going to the inn!”

“Erica! Why are you holding my hair! aah!”

After looking into my eyes, Erica grabbed Einz’s hair and left him.

He was a quick-witted, grateful guy only in times like this.

It was much better than not noticing every moment like Einz did.

He glanced at us at the tree, and then turned away.

“I, I will be waiting outside.”

“Yes. Thank you, Tree.”

“Yes sir.”

He tapped Trier on the shoulder and walked away with a smile.

It seemed like he had a lot of responsibility in his role of escorting me.

It wasn’t reassuring.

It was so awkward to be called a teacher all the time even though I didn’t have a clue what I was taught.

Iris and I were the only two left in the hall of the cathedral so wide.

As soon as I started taking steps, Iris followed right away.

“Is there something inside that you should see? Huh… What is it? I’m looking forward to it.”

“Isn’t that what you didn’t see in the future?”

“I’m sorry, but it is.”

“It’s better to look forward to it, because you’ll love it.”

“Heh heh, I wish I could.”

It’s a new feeling, but her smile was pretty.

Not the pretentious smile that Iris always has.

It’s a laugh I can’t stand because it’s really funny like it is now.

Is it because of its rarity?

It seems that the rarity of the tree is probably due to the fact that the smile on the tree doesn’t look so pretty.

“Iris. I remembered.”

“What did you remember?”

“The one who gave me my eyes and ears back. I just remembered who it was.”

“Huh huh huh … . . . That’s good. Who was it?”

“············”.

Iris brought her face to me with that fake smile again.

Feeling embarrassed, I turned my head away.

It was never because I was ashamed.

“Ah. My ears are turning red.”

“You took my hand. What the hell did you know?”

“Oh, that’s it. It was just a joke.”

Joke.

That sounds funny.

That was the moment I was about to say.

“Isn’t it when the collar rubbed against the door of the training room in the first place? Schlust’s eyes were strange. As if he was looking at something other than this world. Or maybe he was reviving memories… When was the next time you kissed the back of my hand? I don’t know, but Schlust stayed still for a while at that time. So I came to a conclusion. And I found that the more close the contact was to the past, the more Schluss recalled it. I didn’t know that I would fall into my memory like I fainted.”

“ah······.”

“I’m sorry. It brought back memories of that time. That was the most vividly ever. It was a nightmare. I’m really sorry…”

“Iris. It’s too late to say thank you.”

“yes······?”

“I’m a cunning guy who forgot grace. I’m really sorry that I only remembered now. And thank you. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for opening my eyes and ears…”

“Puffy…. Ahahahahaha…!”

I’m having a serious conversation.

Iris suddenly burst into laughter.

Thanks to this, this wide cavity was filled with Eris’ laughter.

It was the first time Iris had ever heard the cheerful laughter of Iris, which was not mixed with any pretense.

It was a little uncomfortable at first, but that feeling soon disappeared.

It was a sound that made me feel better just listening to it.

“Ah… I laughed so much. Uh-huh… I guess you’ve remembered everything yet? You’ve already thanked me enough. Kneeling down on your knees and kissing the back of my hand.”

“············”.

Only then did I remember.

When I kissed the back of Iris’s hand, ‘memory of my own body’ was activated and I heard it.

-Thank you so much for giving me back my ear.

– I will never forget this grace.

– Next time, I will definitely save you.

That was a thank you to Iris.

Now it felt like the puzzle fit a little tight.

“Thank you so much, count twice.”

“Uhhhh.. forever.”

“I’ll never forget it again. I won’t forget it.”

“Yes. You will.”

“I will not forget you until I repay you for this favor.”

“Oh, I didn’t know you had such a wonderful idea.”

“············”.

With that pretentious smile again, Iris lifted her claws and patted my top.

Now I think I’ve realized just how stupid I am.

I wasn’t usually an idiot.

He was such an idiot that he didn’t even know the character of the character I made.

No matter how blunt and hostile she seems, Iris always does good.

I had been practicing shadow boxing with Iris as an imaginary one by myself.

Now it’s really clear.

Iris is on the side of me, Schlus.

It has always been and always will be.

Then, from now on, there was no need to focus on keeping Iris in check.

This means that Iris can be completely trusted.

“Huh….. your friends will be waiting for you. Shall we go slowly now?”

“What do you mean going? I haven’t shown you anything yet, Iris.”

“Yeah? Wasn’t that just an excuse to create a chance for the two of us to talk?”

“Have you ever seen me bluff like that? Follow me quietly.”

“···········?”

I took Iris and went further inside.

It was the first place I had been to, but it was a surprisingly familiar structure.

Sophia Cathedral is a building that I and I loved so much that we even designed the actual architecture using computer graphics.

The memories of that time were fresh and I could clearly see the maze-like structure of the cathedral.

After going down the stairs, going down and down again, we came to a dead-end door.

“Shu, Schlus. Is it okay to come here?”

“No problem. It is a space that is allowed to anyone who serves Aegis.”

He slammed the door with both hands.

Then it opened with a squeaking sound, and soon a huge space appeared.

The ceiling had been dug up in the shape of a dome, and the sun was shining on the altar warmly from the hole at the far end.

god with a sword. Aegis statue.

There was a small figure standing alone in front of him with his head bowed.

“Stand, I hope….”

Iris’s voice was trembling, perhaps recognizing who it was just by looking at her back.

It was just as Iris had expected.

A monk called the Great Sage in the world.

A demon who received the title of sage by the Pope.

It was tilpit.

Is he in denial isn’t he? Marie is searching for her son to give him the pocket watch that at one point triggered Schlus’s memories to come out. Then we know that he was originally searching for his mom, his rebuttal back then was the different family name but now we found out it was a borrowed one rendering his earlier reasoning moot. Knowing MC so far, he is smart enough to think of that possibility.
