Magical Genius With Quantum Magic chapter 2

Talent that will never come again

Talent that will never come again

“mother?”

Leon couldn’t believe it.

Leon lived 45 years as an orphan in South Korea, Lee Won-hyung.

It’s been a long time since Kang and San changed four times, but nevertheless, Leon could not forget the moment when his mother passed away.

Naturally, I thought that even if I died and woke up, I would never see my mother again.

But what is this?

In his first death, Leon wished for a world without magic, war, and mothers.

So, I was born as an orphan in Korea.

And when you draw your mother in the second death, you are reincarnated into a previous life with your mother?

No, should it be called regression, not reincarnation?

“Leon? What’s going on?”

The mother’s face, looking at Leon with a worried expression, is vivid.

Unbelievable, Leon unconsciously reached out and touched his mother’s face.

“Are you a real mother?”

“…Did you even have a bad dream?”

Her mother took Leon’s hand and held her in her arms.

“Okay. Everything is fine now.”

The warm warmth and warm voice made Leon burst into tears without realizing it.

Her eyes were clouded with tears, and she couldn’t see her mother’s face.

Leon hurriedly opened his mouth, as if his mother was about to disappear from his sight as if it had been blurred.

If only I could see my mother again, there are so many things I would like to say.

But there was only one thing I wanted to say first.

“Sorry, I’m sorry. mother. I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry. sorry. mother······.”

I miss my mother even when she is in front of me.

Leon wiped away his tears to see his mother again, but his mother kept holding him in her arms and wiping her back.

“okay. now it’s ok Everything is fine.”

“sorry. really sorry······.”

That day, Leon apologized over and over again.

However, no matter how many times he apologized, the apology was not enough, and Leon eventually collapsed from crying until he lost his mind.

When he woke up the next day, Leon was barely able to admit that what was happening right now was real.

It was because the nostalgic scent of thin porridge made by mixing oat flour with boiled water welcomed the morning.

“Are you awake now?”

A part of his heart became heavy again at the gentle smile on his mother’s face, but Leon did not spit out any more apology.

It was thanks to the realization that apologizing more than this would only be a matter of worrying about her mother for alleviating her guilt.

Instead, I scooped out a spoonful of the thin porridge from which steam was rising and poured it into my mouth.

Although it has been more than 50 years already, the taste of the thin porridge was familiar as if it had been eaten yesterday.

“Delicious. mother.”

A slightly suppressed laugh rang out at those words.

“I just mixed oat flour with hot water, but that’s too much of a compliment.”

“no. Really, really tasty.”

Leon bowed his head to hide the flowing tears and ate the porridge eagerly.

Maybe it was because the tears seasoned the nostalgia, and the porridge I ate in a long time was twice as delicious as Leon remembered.

It was only after eating that Leon was able to regain his leisure and organize his thoughts.

‘You must learn the magic.’

His mother had said he had to learn magic in order to stand out from the Marquis of Parostel, but this was not the time for such a laid-back talk.

You must come up with a way to cure your mother’s chronic illness right away.

And if Leon had the means to achieve it, it would be only magic.

Suddenly, a red mana stone embedded in a burner where water was boiled caught my eye.

If I could sell it, I would be able to purchase what my mother needed, be it medicinal herbs or holy water.

Is the problem heating?

My mother, who was weak, gave up heating to light a lamp to give priority to Leon’s education, which made her chronic illness worse.

That should never happen again.

However, it was something that Leon could easily solve if he learned magic.

It may have been impossible in the past, when knowledge could only be acquired through books, but now it was nothing more than making the interior warm or lighting the darkness with magic.

There was such power in the knowledge that Leon had accumulated in the name of Lee Won-hyung in his previous life.

Although he couldn’t reveal it to anyone, the field that Leon studied was quantum magic.

Leon’s unique learning that only Leon learned and built up.

He was recognized for his achievements only in the detection and research of dark matter, a by-product of his research, and was even nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics.

However, the problem was the fact that Leon’s quantum magic had not yet been put into practice.

That’s probably because Lee Won-hyung didn’t feel the magic.

The theory that reinterprets magic through science is perfect.

I think it will be perfect, but what if there is at least one error in the theory of the binary type?

If the knowledge that Won-hyung Lee has accumulated over 45 years of life has been in vain, will Leon have to repeat the terrible past again?

Leon closed his eyes tightly and groaned.

It’s still too early to get a weak heart.

After a really long time, Leon cleared his mind and sent a signal to his magical powers.

The feeling was very unfamiliar.

The 45 years of living in the same circle was a fruitful time to build new knowledge, but at the same time, it was also a blank period in which I could not use magic.

However, magical power responded to Leon’s signal too simply.

On the contrary, it seemed that the magical powers responded more easily than before the return.

When you think about it, it was natural.

The current Leon is not the 7-year-old Leon, nor the 19-year-old Leon.

Because it was 64-year-old Leon + Lee Won-hyung.

Of course, not everyone can handle magic easily just because they are old.

Because the most important thing to feel the magic was early education.

Leon hypothesized that it is a ‘special mental wave’ that occurs in the human mind that makes people feel and move.

He thought that the reason why he could not feel the magic in the modern earth was because the form of this mental wave was different from that of this world.

And what made up the human mind were, ironically, material things perceived as the opposite of spiritual things.

Because the human mind consists only of neurons, which are nerve cells, or synapses, which are the junctions between neurons.

Then, the period when neurons and synapses are most developed would be the best time to awaken the magic.

According to what has been revealed in modern science, this synapse develops rapidly in infancy between the ages of 5 and 7, and from the age of 8, it enters the optimization process of removing unnecessary synapses.

For this reason, it was easy to find cases where if you missed this period in awakening your magic, you could not feel your magic for the rest of your life.

In that sense, the return point was perfect.

Because a 64-year-old mind resided in a 7-year-old body with the most developed synapses, so a talent that will never exist in the world sprouted.

Leon felt the magical energy gathered on his palm and recited the starting words.

“Light, be there.”

light.

Then, with a flash of light, a ball of light popped out, illuminating the dark attic.

“Lee, Leon. Are you…?”

“It’s magic. mother.”

Before returning, I barely reached this level at the age of 13.

The circle was already formed at the age of 12, but it was because he had a hard time developing magic by skillfully manipulating magical powers.

It now has no problem using magic without circles.

However, just because it was done easily, it didn’t mean that the feelings I had now were lacking compared to the joy I had when I first succeeded in magic.

Rather than when I first succeeded in magic, the emotion I felt now was greater.

‘This is magic.’

It was a magic that succeeded in freezing before the return.

But now, as a science, magic has been reinterpreted and developed perfectly based on a clear theory.

This little ball of light was proof that the past 45 years of life were not in vain.

Leon’s mother looked very surprised, but then smiled and burst into tears.

The warmth in those eyes is the emotion I have longed for over the past 50 years.

“Good job. Leon. I knew you could do it.”

Leon’s heart swelled at the sound of that voice.

Because the feelings of a mother who is genuinely proud of Leon have been conveyed.

‘But mother, this is only the beginning.’

I will become a proud son who is not ashamed of my mother.

Leon made a firm, firm resolve to himself.

* * *

The foundation of a wizard is a circle.

Even without a circle, magic can be used, but with or without a circle, there is a marked difference in the amount of magic that a wizard can handle.

Before returning, Leon was a magician who achieved 2nd circle on the battlefield, but the amount of magic power was far below that of other wizards.

Magic is the science of talent.

There was a time in Leon as well when he thought that the amount of magic that could be accumulated in a circle would inevitably differ depending on the size of each person’s innate talent.

However, the circle reinterpreted by quantum magic was not like that.

Why do wizards need circles to build up magical power?

According to the magic theory of this land where Leon lives, the Radiant Continent, magical power is a miraculous power given by the gods, and the circle was created by imitating the light ring formed above their heads to follow the example of the Elyos, a great race that follows the gods.

The reason magic was granted to the wizard was because God took it for granted.

Of course, the Radiant Continent was a world where you could feel the existence of God differently from Earth, but that didn’t mean that the theory was true.

Leon thought that circles were the process of synchronizing the human mind and magical powers.

What is magic in the first place?

Even if it was a miracle power given by God, there would be a clear law.

What on earth is magical power that makes it possible to light a fire in empty air and to exercise the miraculous power of creating water?

Leon hypothesized that magical power was an unknown substance that interacts with human mental waves.

At the same time, in modern science, an unknown substance that has not yet been identified exists, and that is dark matter.

A hypothetical substance that can indirectly infer that it exists through gravity as a result of observing the universe, but does not interact with any other matter.

As a binary form, Leon devoted himself to research to prove the existence of this dark matter, and in recognition of his achievement, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics.

As a result of the research, Leon was able to confirm that magic is dark matter.

Nevertheless, the reason humans on the modern Earth could not feel magic and use magic was simply because they needed a special mental wave to interact with magic.

In that sense, it would not be too wrong to say that magic is the science of talent.

But is there a limit to the amount of magic that can be achieved with one circle depending on the size of the talent?

It was a completely wrong theory.

Because once you could feel the magic, magic was just one substance that was equal to all of them.

The circle was a device that synchronizes and binds such dark matter with human mental waves.

In order to feel and move the magic, you have to focus your mind, but even if you don’t do that, the magic will make itself move in response to the usual mental waves.

In the process, it creates a circle and rotates the magic power, and synchronizes the frequency with the mental wave with the rotation speed.

Unless there is a solid theory, of course, the shape of the circle formed at this time has to be different for each person, and people have concluded that the phenomenon of unknown reason is ‘talent’.

But what frequency is your mental wave?

how much mana is allowed for that frequency,

Anyone can form an ideal circle if they know a certain formula.

The problem was this part.

“There is no way a psychometric device exists in this world.”

First, a vast amount of experimentation was required to accurately determine Leon’s mental frequency.

Leon immediately felt the magical power and gradually reduced the margin of error by observing, recording, verifying, and re-observing how the magic reacted in the process of moving.

The work continued until late at night.

In the corner of the dark attic, I saw my mother turn off the heater while I was recording the figures by sticking charcoal on the discarded wooden planks.

“Leon. If you are going to study, turn on the light.”

“it’s okay. mother. I can use magic now.”

Seeing such a mother, Leon lit the attic with light magic.

However, the light that lit up quickly disappeared again.

Maintaining magic for a long time required continuous consumption of magic power and the need to maintain concentration for a long time.

Even now, Leon doesn’t have a circle yet.

Seeing that, my mother pulled the magic stone out of the heater again, but Leon could not easily back down.

“If that’s the case, can I just go to bed early today?”

“What? why not?”

At those words, Leon’s mother, Riel, had no choice but to panic.

He was a son who usually obeyed his orders, so this small change was a big deal.

Besides, isn’t today a monumental day when magic was successful for the first time?

I don’t know for sure, but unlike the way he usually read and study magic books, Leon’s endlessly arranging formulas that he couldn’t understand the meaning of, just by looking at his expression, he could tell how important he was doing.

I can’t help but be embarrassed to say that I’m going to stop and sleep because of myself.

But for Leon, it was natural.

The reason Leon learned magic was so that he would never regret it again.

I couldn’t do anything before the return.

Because I didn’t want to go through the despairing feeling of drowning in that helplessness again.

“I want my mother to be healthy for a long time.”

There was nothing particularly special about Leon’s simple words that stabbed into his chest, and Riel felt exhausted and had no choice but to back away without a word.

And Riel stared endlessly at the back of Leon, who was putting charcoal in the darkness.

Disclaimer: the next chapter contain a load of quantum bs and absolutely no relevant information. If you are afraid just skip it, you will not miss anything.

Bs about magic and quantum mechanic could wait a bit. I’m more interested in mc character that lived two lifetimes. There is something special in potential experience that mc had, and what his look on life.

Death mage who doesn’t want 4th time, was similar, but mc’s experience was severly limited in 2nd life, that made him very apathetic toward life and death.
