10: A Ray of Hope
I’m tired.
That was my impression after finishing the conversation with the magistrate.
It was the usual conversation, but his inquiring gaze was obvious, and on top of that, while usually only Zeel and the maid were present in the room, this time even Tanar showed up.
It was clear that everyone had something on their minds.
I’m getting a little anxious. As long as my father is on the throne, the right to succeed to the throne will not be meaningful. My father is still young, so I don’t have to worry about him being included in the list of past emperors anytime soon.

For several days from that day on, I spent all my time in the library except for sleeping, eating, excreting, and bathing. I threw away all distractions and simply gained knowledge, chewed on it in my mind, and reread it while adding various interpretations, and I tried to put as much strain on my head as possible.
And so, on the night of the seventh day, I was lying in bed with my hand on my heart, trying to relax my tension.
Until now, the things I was too afraid to raise were magic power and the sixth level of intelligence. These two.
The reason I haven’t raised my magic power is because I was anxious about what would happen to me and what kind of effect it would have on my surroundings, but intelligence is different. I couldn’t raise it precisely because I could predict what would happen.
The ability level value ranges from the first level to the seventh level, but only up to the sixth level has actually been confirmed, and the seventh level is a level value that exists from speculation that it probably exists.
This world is basically made up of the number 7, so that’s why that kind of speculation exists, but the problem lies in the fact that the maximum level value that has been confirmed at present is 6-7.
The ability level value is average at the third level, excellent at the fourth level, genius at the fifth level, and the sixth level is a number that those who are outstanding enough to be called heroes or given a second name have.
What I’ve noticed recently by raising my ability level value is that the experience value that should be raised from the first level to the third level isn’t that much. And the actual ability itself isn’t so much that I feel a wall .
However, there’s an isolated wall from the third level to the fourth level, and also above that. When I raised my intelligence from the fourth level to the fifth level, I was really tormented by a splitting headache and the difference in how I perceived the world.
That’s the difference between excellent and genius. So how much of a difference is there between genius and hero? If I’m not careful, I might die because my mind can’t handle the amount of information I’m feeling and obtaining, that Kind of anxiety wouldn’t leave me alone.
However, in order to put into practice what I thought of today while watching the Imperial Guards’ training, I absolutely need the intelligence of the sixth level. That’s why I’ve been putting as much strain on my mind as possible up until today, getting used to using my intelligence.
And so now, I’m going to raise my level value.
