28: Off to the Gibree Earldom
Last night, I returned to the mansion, cast [Mana of the Disintegrating Myriad] on my body, changed my clothes, and immediately went to sleep. I was so mentally exhausted.
So in the morning, I delivered the goods to the Bernard Trading Company’s medicinal herb trading post a little later than usual, and then headed to the mediation office at a leisurely pace. I had said that I would make sure to show up every day, so I figured one of Neil’s group would probably be there.
As soon as I arrived at the mediation office and looked at the request board, I saw a request that was exactly as I had heard.

Mandatory Request
Target/Conditions: All adventurer registrants of the 3rd rank or higher
Extermination of a special individual of a certified danger level 5 magical beast that recently appeared in the Gibree territory.
Participation or non-participation, as well as the degree of contribution during the extermination, will be used to evaluate the adventurer’s rank for promotion or demotion.
Since a large-scale alliance is expected this time, the local gathering point will be at the town of Lassie in the Gael district of the Gibree territory.

I see, it certainly says something about the evaluation.
It says participation or non-participation and degree of contribution, but I wonder how much of that I should take at face value.
One thing that bothered me a little was what would happen if I really couldn’t participate because I had gone somewhere else or something, regardless of whether I declined to participate or not.
According to Neil, they apparently check by seeing if such adventurers (Adbels) haven’t accepted any requests for a while or if there’s no record of them selling materials.
Basically, adventurers always leave some kind of trace of their activities, so if there’s no trace, they treat it as if they were never there in the first place.
So I asked him if I could just run away as soon as I got the information, and he said that even if I really couldn’t participate, I would still be subject to evaluation for demotion just for not participating in an important event for the country or territory.
If you run away, you get a big penalty. If you don’t run away, you get a penalty for not participating. It’s amazing how participation is taken for granted.
Well, I guess that’s what it means to be an armed person allowed to exist in the country. If you don’t like it, don’t register, or go to another country, that’s what they’re saying.
However, the fact that they’re managed to that extent also means that as long as you follow those rules, the country won’t say anything to you. Well, it’s a matter of good and bad.
Apparently, adventurers and mercenaries (Soldia) who are already in the middle of a request will be completely exempt from the mandatory request if they submit a request completion form later. Hmm. Is that strict or lenient?
Anyway, getting back to the topic, I headed to the cafeteria before going to the reception desk, since this request had finally come. As it happened, all of Neil’s group was there.
“Yo.”
“Morning.”
I encountered them, sat down with them, and immediately ordered something. The food at the mansion just wasn’t enough anymore.
“Did you see it?”
Neil got right to the point. This must be a serious matter for them.
“I saw it. So what should I do? If it’s a request from the mediation office, I think even a temporary party needs to submit a registration form, right?”
“I’ll take care of that. Just get ready, Jas, so that you can leave at any time.”
“What about you guys?”
“We’re all ready to go at any time. All that’s left is Jas.”
“I could leave this afternoon if I had to.”
“Are you sure? There’s still a deadline, technically.”
“Is it okay to take it easy?”
“It would be better if we could leave sooner. The deadline for the assembly is seven days from now. It takes four days to get to the destination town by stagecoach from here. Including that, most of the inns in the surrounding towns and villages will be full.”
“That’s not good. We’ll leave this afternoon.”
“Understood. Then let’s meet here. We’ll be here for a while, so come when you’re ready.”
After finishing my meal quickly, I left my seat.
It would be the worst if I couldn’t get a room because I was taking my time. I want to sleep in a bed, indoors.
I headed to the store where the Bernard Trading Company handles its goods, but I thought the schedule was very fast. Seven days after the request was made. And it’s in another territory.

The trip went smoothly. The agency had increased the number of stagecoaches, and it seemed that the towns and villages along the way had been contacted, so there were always stagecoaches available.
There were no guards, but the passengers were a group of adventurers and mercenaries. It would be pitiful for bandits to attack this.
Occasionally, magical beasts would appear, but they were no match for us. The adventurers would jump out of the carriage and kill them instantly without stopping the carriage. Then they would jump back into the carriage, so it was a really smooth journey. inside of the carriage was quite stuffy, so it was a great help for me who wanted to get out of this situation as soon as possible.
“Wow.”
“Was it a little late?”
My muttered voice and Neil’s click of the tongue almost overlapped.
As the request letter said, we arrived at a fairly developed town called Lashi. It was small in scale because it didn’t have a castle wall, and it seemed to be a peaceful place in normal times.
In the town, there were men and women who looked like adventurers and rough mercenaries.
the town, soldiers who looked like they belonged to the lord were camping in tents and gathering together. The atmosphere was not something I wanted to get close to.
“Anyway, let’s find an inn. We’ll talk after that.”
“Agreed.”
We started with the larger inns, and finally found a vacant room at the third one. It’s amazing that the others were all full.
To begin with, the inns in this town are not that big and there are not many of them. It’s better to find one.
“Well, from now on, we’ll be staying quietly in this town. There’s no agency in this town. There’s a temporary agency now, but it doesn’t fulfill its normal role.”
“Then what about hunting?”
“I wouldn’t recommend it in the first place. There are so many adventurers wandering around in front of the battlefield. You might get involved in a fight, and even though fights between adventurers are recognized, it’s not good in the current situation. As for hunting, it would be bad if you went to the wrong place and provoked those magical beasts.”
“But you don’t know where they are?”

This large-scale subjugation. Only the approximate location of the magical beasts has been identified, so the first step is to search the area. The reason why this place was chosen as the meeting place is simply because it is a convenient location.
When the scheduled date arrives, each group will be assigned a number of people and will start searching from all directions. When they are found, the agency staff who are following each group will send a signal.

Indeed, there were quite a few soldiers outside the town. They were nervous, and if they did anything unnecessary, they would be beaten up even though they were adventurers. If possible, that is.
We decided that we would have breakfast and dinner together, and that we would be free to do whatever we wanted otherwise. So, I decided to go for a walk from the next morning without hesitation. I don’t think there’s anything special to see in a small town, but I thought I might as well.
As expected, there are few shops, and there were only the bare minimum of weapons and armor stores. In the first place, the fact that there is no agency means that such people do not come near, so there is no demand. I guess the blacksmith made them on a whim.
I also went into other stores, such as clothing stores, but this was a bit interesting. The design and pattern were different, perhaps because it was unique to the region. I bought a few of both men’s and women’s clothes out of curiosity. women’s clothes will probably be treated as something to be hidden in the back of the closet.
Another thing that bothered me was that there were no recovery potions at all. I don’t think they’re being distributed to the people in town, but I wonder if that’s the case?

After looking around, I couldn’t find anything interesting. The main reason for this is that the town itself is not that big.
As I was walking along, thinking that I might as well go back to the inn, I suddenly noticed a strange group in my field of vision. It wasn’t a group as such, but a group of several provocatively dressed beauties were walking along .
They were clearly not townsfolk. As I stepped aside to the side of the road and watched them in a daze, I was suddenly grabbed by the shoulder. I looked up, wondering who it was, and it was none other than Mash from the ‘ Grieg Mercenary Corps’.
“Hey, Jasper. Have you finally woken up to women? Look at those whores.”
“Whores? Is there a brothel in this town?”
“They’re probably traveling whores. They must have heard that soldiers and adventurers were gathering here. They’re walking around like that on purpose to show off their wares. They’re like walking advertisements.”
“Wow.”
They were certainly alluring just by walking around. I was a little concerned that their makeup was a bit too heavy, but they were definitely women I would have no problem sleeping with.
As they passed us, they smiled meaningfully and walked away.
“What do you think? Should I take you to them tonight?”
“No, I’m good.”
“Huh? I thought you liked that sort of thing?”
“I think they’re beautiful, but I’m not sure if I’d want to sleep with them.”
“Man, you’re so picky.”
He slapped me on the back. I couldn’t help it, that’s just how I felt.
“So, you’re here, does that mean you’re joining the raid?”
“I was invited.”

Mash seemed to be thinking for a moment, his hand on his chin.
“On the other hand, are Mash and the others joining?”

There’s a big difference between being an adventurer ranked 5 and a guild ranked 5.
There are several conditions, but first, the guild master and sub-master must be at least rank 5 adventurers. The guild must have at least 14 adventurers ranked 4 or higher. And the guild members must have defeated at least four level 5 or higher magical beasts on their own. Only when these conditions are met can a guild become a level 5 guild.
Well, it depends on the members of the raid team this time, but as an organization, the guild is probably near the top.
“Do we really need to put out so many requests…?”
