The Old Man Is So Good at Acting Like a Loser 48

The core of broken magical power. A unique grade artifact that can amplify maximum mana.

As with most artifacts that increase maximum mana, this artifact also has a huge penalty. The penalty is that the ‘magic’ ability is reduced by half.

Classes that have a direct impact on combat, such as Priests, Summoners, and Sorcerers, are relics that they cannot even dare to use. However, in other words, there was no such thing as a mana-increasing artifact for jobs that didn’t have much magic power.

If you have high magical power, the duration and power of abnormal status arrows will increase slightly. However, in most cases, magical power is a surplus ability that hunters do not need.

Tricia was still in need of an artifact that increased her max mana, but it worked. Andrea then looked at the equipment card.

‘[Unique] Drakus’ longbow: A bow used by Drakuth, a legendary hunter who was said to have caught a dragon with a single arrow. (Muscle limit: 50, 20% chance of a critical hit when attacking with an arrow)’

The rod is painted dark blue, and the top and bottom ends are decorated with small black horns. The handle was made of oiled leather, and the bowstring was made of wyvern sinew. It wasn’t flashy, but it was a bow whose performance was unquestionable.

A weapon that correctly ranks the value came out. Andrea looked at the bright pink rim with a pleasant smile.

Marco looked out at the card and asked insinuatingly.

“How about it, is it a good bow?”

“of course. Compared to this, the bow I am using now will be like a slingshot.”

It was an excellent performance as much as the muscle strength was restricted. Andrea carefully guessed that Trisha would have leveled up by catching the boss monster, so perhaps her strength would exceed 50 by now.

Including the piercing arrowhead effect, Trisha’s critical hit chance is now 28%. The performance of the weapon itself has also improved, and one out of four shots will have a critical hit, so it must have been incomparably stronger than before.

With that said, Trisha’s farming was very successful. Andrea then took out the equipment card she had obtained.

A flash of golden light that excites the heart. It was a reward that made Andrea anxious to see what it was when she was rushing to collect the reward.

‘[Epic] Lunar Eclipse Hermit’s Outfit: Clothes made with the darkness cast during a lunar eclipse. (resistance – 5, ignores first 3 damage in each battle)’

My hands trembled. Effect wasn’t the problem. As soon as Andrea saw the illustration drawn on the card, she couldn’t stand it and immediately summoned the equipment.

A coat with a black cape covering the shoulders and overlapping collars, cast iron buckles painted with paint to prevent reflection, a vest made to be tied with a leather strap, and black and tough pants of unfathomable material.

It was the ‘Lunar Eclipse Hermit’s Outfit’, one of the best zodiac items in the game.

Since ‘Dungeon of Infinity’ is basically a single-player game, most players prioritized performance over appearance. However, it was natural to prefer a red skirt for the same price, and a dress with a better design if the performance was similar.

As in reality, it is not an easy task to combine practicality and style. Most of the high-grade equipment made the character look ridiculous because of the excessive decoration. This was the reason why the ‘Lunar Eclipse Hermit’s Attire’ was given special treatment.

A concise design reminiscent of a secret and solitary hermit and a stylish black color. On top of that, it has excellent performance that ignores damage 3 times.

There is a penalty to lower resistance, but it was minor. The chance of surviving a fatal attack with only a difference of 5 resistances was not high anyway.

It was a car that I was worried about because of the old clothes, but it turned out well. Tricia must be asleep as well, so Andrea immediately took off her clothes and put on the lunar hermit’s outfit.

I was concerned that the size would be a bit big, but as soon as I put it on, the clothes shrunk to the proper size. High-grade equipment was obviously different no matter what. The fabric is flexible, so it feels comfortable to wear without being heavy or stiff.

“I’m getting pretty sick.”

said Marco, stroking his beard. Andrea gave a shy smile. Arpan, who was sitting on a chair made of stone, also helped.

“Now you have become quite like a follower of the Shadow God. Congratulations, Andrea.”

As soon as I heard that, the feeling of being obsessed with the new outfit was gone. Andrea spoke to Arpan in a questioning tone.

“Yes, Arpan. There are so many things I wanted to ask when I met you.”

“Ask me anything. I won’t answer anything.”

“Why did I receive the blessing of the Shadow God without even visiting the temple? And what is the class called ‘Shinto’?”

Arfan raised his eyebrows with a puzzled expression.

“Well, isn’t it so special that you have a class that didn’t exist before? Andrea-sama, unlike the others, received a revelation from the Shadow God when she entered the dungeon in the first place.”

“No, that’s…”

Andrea was speechless. Marco was watching their conversation from behind. I couldn’t bear to say that it was all made up by myself.

Arpan didn’t seem to have any intention of hiding the pleasure of teasing Andrea.

“Can you continue talking?”

Andrea bit her lip. When Andrea showed no sign of speaking up, Arpan finally spoke again.

“Horses, words, words. People have to be careful what they say. Isn’t it common everywhere that life and death can be separated by a mere tongue-in-cheek? In particular, people who are in a ‘special position’ different from others should be more careful about what they say.”

“…”

“The advice I can give you is just that. I hope you do well with your interpretation.”

It was vague, like Arpan’s words so far, but Andrea was able to understand what he meant.

‘The lie that I received a revelation from the Shadow God, does that mean my past has changed because of that lie?’

Come to think of it, Andrea was a character with a lot of ‘blank’. Except for the fact that he was a ‘slave’ due to the setting that he did not speak well, nothing was known about his past, his class did not even exist, and his characteristics were unknown.

‘If I am filling Andrea’s void by entering and playing this game…?’

It was a home that somehow felt creepy. Even though it’s just a game character, being someone other than yourself and making ‘that person’ is.

‘Damn it, there should be someone who can explain my situation clearly, other than this stupid goat’s head…’

Arfan avoided Andrea’s staring gaze by slightly turning his head. Despite this, Andrea continued to glared at Arpan.

‘No, there are surer ways than hoping to meet someone who may or may not exist.’

Andrea then looked away. And with a strong heart, I made up my mind.

‘Someday, I will definitely crush Arpan with force. And I’m going to make you confess everything you know.’

It was still a long way off. Arpan wasn’t invincible, but needless to say, he was an important NPC, so I couldn’t even compare him with tolerable specs.

However, Andrea had a powerful weapon called information. It’s still hard to use, but Arpan’s physical weakness or innate weakness.

It was all clearly in my head.

Perhaps he had seen through his thoughts, Arpan suddenly smiled exaggeratedly as he looked at Andrea. Andrea bit her lip.

‘Let’s see if I can smile like that when my head is under my feet.’

It took almost half a day for Trisha to come to her senses.

Marco suggested that I should lie down somewhere warm so that I wouldn’t get cold in the middle, but the only warm place in the waiting room was in front of the burning incinerator.

“…”

“…however, that’s a bit…”

It was so unpleasant that I had no choice but to be content with laying it on top of Andrea’s naked clothes.

Tricia, who came to her senses, touched the regenerated hand and asked urgently.

“Am I successful? That bull-headed bastard got hit with an explosive potion and died, right?”

Marco twisted his lips vaguely. I was conflicted about whether or not I could tell the truth. It must have been an attack with great determination, but it was not easy to tell the person concerned that it was all in vain.

Andrea was different. Andrea speaks in a firm and certain tone.

“No, Trisha. Your attack failed. The Minotaur picked up an ax even after being hit by an explosive potion. It was an attack that shouldn’t have been made.”

Seemingly shocked, Trisha lowered her head. It seemed that he felt sorry for him, but Marco stopped Andrea and went out.

“Andrea, you don’t have to be so cold-hearted…”

“No, Mr. Marco. This is the part that needs to be addressed precisely. Trisha, that attack was too reckless. Even if I had succeeded, I would have taught you the same way.”

“…”

“You made a firm promise before handing over the explosive potion. After using it, don’t use it unless you can use a blink shot to increase distance. But on the contrary, do you shorten the distance with blinking shots?”

Having said that, I had nothing to say. Tricia hadn’t forgotten what she had promised. However, at that time, the situation was so urgent that I had no choice but to break it.

Tricia managed to squeeze in an excuse.

“But…you said to thoroughly learn patterns and be flexible with plans.”

“No, that’s not… that’s not the case. Even being flexible has a line that shouldn’t be crossed. It’s not flexible, it’s all at the level of being bent. Even if you caught the Minotaur like that, what’s the point if you’re dead?”

“…”

Andrea, who was ready to make sacrifices and chastised a person who came back from the dead, was obviously not in a good mood. However, it was an unavoidable process to minimize the damage to the party and reduce unexpected variables.

A relationship that is free from gains and losses. It didn’t matter how much NPCs in the dungeons were robbed, but all human relationships couldn’t be built that way. Especially to the comrades who have to leave their backs when fighting.

Whatever the reason Marco and Tricia joined, they were all colleagues who could not be ignored in their journey in the dungeon. Since he decided to lead the party, he had to take on this level of responsibility.

Andrea let out a deep sigh and continued in a much softer tone.

“Tricia, your idea and action were really good. But from now on, I hope you don’t use that power of action in an attack that puts you to death.”

“…Then don’t do that either.”

“···what?”

“If you promise not to, then I will too.”

“…”

momentary silence. Trisha seemed to still have in her mind what had happened in the maze trap room. Andrea struggled to open her mouth with a mixed feeling.

“···OK got it. I will too.”

It was a promise he was not sure he would keep. Some of the information he knows is something he has to risk alone. Andrea felt a bit of remorse when she saw herself making such a false promise while saying that to Tricia.

There was an awkward silence again. But it was not a long silence. Trisha immediately raised her head, which had been lowered, and brought up another topic.

“…Come to think of it, your outfit has changed a lot.”

“Uh, these are the clothes I got on this floor. how?”

“Can I be honest with you?”

“of course.”

“… It seems that the young boy who longs for an assassin is dressed up to the fullest.”

“Trisya.”

“yes?”

“Next time, let’s be a little less honest.”
