All three audience members felt like they didn’t know what to look like. Trisha narrowed her eyebrows, tilted her head slightly, and finally asked a question while examining Marco’s complexion anxiously .

“ Didn’t you say you had a daughter ?”

“ Because you don’t have to be pregnant to have a child .”

“ Ah .”

Trisha and Andrea understood right away, but Emilia was still confused .

” I… in Helios, besides the way a man and a woman have a relationship, is there a way to make a child …?”

“ There is a way to adopt, priest .”

” Aww …!”

Hearing Andrea’s answer, Emilia’s face turned bright red. Marco let out a small laugh and continued the story .

“ One day there was a time when Nelas’s pirates raided the port of Revos in a large scale. Many refugees came to our village. Since it was like a war, there were many people who abandoned their children. My daughter… was one of them. I was just a baby who was randomly abandoned on the street without a walk .”

“…”

“ I couldn’t bear to watch her sadly cry, so I brought her to my house. At first, I thought I had lost my parents, so I tried to find them, but no matter how many times I searched for them, they didn’t appear, either because they had already left or because I knew they didn’t know. My wife has been very fond of the child. When I was looking at the child, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t fill… a certain empty space was filled .”

“ So that’s why you decided to raise your current daughter .”

At Andrea’s words, Marco nodded his head with a somewhat stiff face .

“ I thought that my wife and I were children sent from heaven. I was very clumsy, but I tried to do everything I could. Fortunately, the child grew up well without wrinkles. But I didn’t see it until I was only seven years old. There was a ‘hospital’ .”

Emilia put on a puzzled expression. It seemed that he had no idea what a ‘holy war’ was. Andrea pondered inwardly, then briefly explained what was going on .

‘The Crusade’ is a war between Helios and Nelas that broke out after a long argument over the raid on the port of Levos. As in reality, in fact, that incident was just an opportunity. Inside, there were complex reasons such as the decline of Helios and the struggle for interests between countries .

Andrea also only occasionally saw the setting, but did not know all the circumstances in detail. However, it felt so disgusting that the Church of the Sun God packaged this war as a ‘sacred war’ and drove so many people to death .

After that, there was a recollection of a soldier who had to leave his wife and daughter alone. Fierce battles on the frontlines, near-death encounters with the priests of Nelas, crippled or dead comrades, brutal or obsessive survivors .

It wasn’t just that. Strange things happened as the war dragged on. Day by day, the number of priests of the sun god participating in the war decreased .

To say that it was because of the constant fighting, the priests of Nelas showed no signs of diminishing. A situation where new priests do not appear only in the Helios army. Considering the importance of miraculous priests in warfare, it was only natural that Helios would be pushed aside .

“ What happened was the battle on the plains of Campus. It was a battle that our side would have won, if only by numbers. But the priest of the sun god, who was supposed to come, went to a different unit, not ours .”

The result was a disaster. In front of the priests of the wave god who raised the groundwater and the mercenaries who deal with strange powers, the Helios army was helpless, and only a few who surrendered barely survived. Marco saved his life, but he was captured and sold as a slave to the galley .

“ Actually, my original name is not Marco. Among the slaves from Helios, there is a superstition that in order to enter the ‘paradise where the sun never sets’, you must use a different name when you become a slave. I don’t really believe in superstitions… But just because others do, I also took a pseudonym. I’ve been using it for five years, but now it’s getting awkward with my real name .”

There was something tense about the atmosphere. Like the calm before the storm. Andrea hurriedly turned her head to look at Tricia .

The state of her frowning and shaking her head at times was clearly not normal for anyone to see. Tricia asked a question with a trembling voice .

“ Then… what was your original name ?”

“ Bruno. It was Bruno. It’s a name I haven’t used in a long time, so it’s very awkward .”

“… may I also ask what your daughter’s name was ?”

“… Nina. I have never forgotten his name for a moment .”

The moment he heard that, a huge shock spread across Trisha’s face .

*

“ Andrea, . . . let’s talk for a minute .”

Trisha grabbed Andrea by the sleeve and slipped out of the back. She walked so far that the others couldn’t hear her voice .

The destination was in front of a house with only one wall left. In front of him, Trisha is restless, holding her head, sitting down and standing up repeatedly .

“ What, what is it? f*ck, no… what the hell happened to this ?”

“…”

Even without asking, I knew that my prediction was correct. Andrea waited in silence until Trisha’s confusion subsided .

After a long wait, Trisha finally looked at Andrea .

“ What is it? Why is that person… born in the same place as my father, with the same name, and lived the same life? Even… my daughter’s name… is the name I used before .”

“…”

“ My father… was killed in action. I even scattered the ashes …”

It was a very natural confusion. Trisha’s mother was shocked to hear the news of her father’s death, and her condition worsened, and she eventually died. But if Marco is really his father, doesn’t that mean that the events that fell like dominoes and ruined his entire childhood were fabricated in the first place ?

The reality faced and the denial that it could not be so caused a fierce collision. Trisha almost cried out .

“ But don’t you make sense? He said that he was taken prisoner during the Holy War and was a slave for five years, but the Holy War broke out 16 years ago, right? Then… then …”

Trisha was right. From Trisha’s point of view, that meant Marco married and raised a child when he was just under thirteen. Calculations that make no sense in common sense .

Andrea knew why .

“ Tricia, can I tell you something I couldn’t tell you about your parents before ?”

“… yes .”

Andrea caught her breath and revealed one of the dungeon’s secrets .

“ The people in the dungeon are not all from the ‘same time zone’. Bagratu was born fifty years from your standards, and Priest Emilia was born a hundred years ago. And Marco and I… are from a time zone at least eight years earlier than you .”

“… what ?”

In fact, eight years was Andrea’s rough estimate, so it wasn’t accurate. To calculate the exact time difference, you would have to ask Marco for the year .

Since we don’t live in the

‘ same time zone’, there were times when encounters with other characters would occasionally trigger a goal-hitting event. A person who came to save the country hears that their country has already been destroyed, or a person who comes to save a daughter suffering from an incurable disease hears that their daughter has already died …

Ironically, no time paradox occurred in any of those events. The future flowed on the premise that all challengers could not see the end of the dungeon and achieve their aspirations .

Anyway, this incident was just as shocking. Trisha licked her lips. What that word means is …

“ So, is that man… really my father ?”

“ It is very likely. You know better, but all the conditions match except for the time zone …?”

Silence that stops even the flowing stars and wind for a moment .

Trisha looked up at the sky with dejected eyes, then collapsed helplessly, put her hands on the floor, and finally began to weep bitterly .

I tried to muffle my voice, but without realizing it, a cry of sadness came out. These were the tears of all those years of wandering for a long time after losing both of my parents .

When other characters ask about her wish when an encounter event occurs, Trisha replied that she would become the strongest archer in the world with billions of dollars. However, when she was in danger of dying, Tricia’s wish was completely different .

‘ Damn it… don’t let the crusade happen. My parents… don’t let anyone die. And let me go back to my hometown full of dandelions… ‘

Trisha always couldn’t see the end of the dungeon. The wish also failed to come true. Not even once .

Is this unexpected reunion now an apology from God for that vicious challenge ?

A long time passed, and the intense emotion subsided. Tricia rubbed her eyes, wiping away the tears. Andrea carefully lowered her posture and asked .

“ Trisya… Marco, no… can I tell your father about this ?”

Andrea couldn’t even guess what kind of reaction Marco would have if he knew the truth. If you show more reaction than this, you will see it, wouldn’t it show a less reaction .

But unexpectedly, Tricia shook her head .

“ No, don’t do that, Andrea .”

“ Can I ask why ?”

“… there’s no guarantee that I’ll stay alive while exploring the dungeon .”

It was an unexpected reason. Andrea had no choice but to take a deep breath .

“ If I die as Trisha, Marco’s colleague, Marco may feel remorseful and painful, but he will be able to rise again. Marco-san has a mission to find his daughter somewhere outside the dungeon .”

“…”

“ But if I die as Mr. Marco’s daughter… Nina, Mr. Marco will surely sit there and never get up again. forever .”

Looking into Andrea’s eyes, Trisha pretends to be okay and keeps talking .

“ Not only that… How would you feel if you found out that your daughter lived through all kinds of hardships while you were away? I think that is a very bad thing .”

Andrea forgot what to say. Although she vaguely thought that a touching father-daughter reunion would not happen immediately, Trisha thought much deeper than that .

Even though I rationally understood the reason, a corner of my heart was still heavy, like a heavy lump of iron. Now that she is at this level, how does Trisha feel when she says this herself? Andrea was hard to even fathom .

I couldn’t overcome that feeling and tried to say something different. However, Trisha spoke first. Trisha smiled shyly and asked one favor .

“ I’m sorry, but could you stand in front of me for a moment? It’s so hard to stand up without leaning on someone .”

Andrea nodded and stood still as she was told. Trisha hesitated for a moment, then sneaked up to Andrea and hugged her and buried her face in her chest .

The quiet sound of a heartbeat. Even though it was a wasteland where not a single blade of grass had grown, the smell of grass could be heard from somewhere. Andrea looked up, embarrassed for nothing. The stars in the sky shattered like sunlight on black water .

I tried to back off, thinking that this was enough, but Trisha showed no sign of letting go of her interlaced hands. I didn’t know if Marco or Emilia would think strangely if I dragged on here for more time .

Andrea lowered her head and spoke softly .

“ Tricia, can I ask you something ?”

“… Huh ?”

“… when was the last time you washed your hair ?”

Trisha gathered all her strength and responded with a strong slap. If the first strike roll hadn’t caused the ghosting effect, Andrea might have broken her arm .

Conversations between actions remind me of One way Heroics(it’s really hard to find the original…), premise sounds like Enter The Gungeon with bullet to kill the past.
