Finding the Lost Pieces (9)

Since that day, there hasn’t been a single day that I haven’t thought about that old woman.

“·················ogue.”

But strangely, the old man’s face did not appear at all.

The more I look back, the more terrifying it was.

From https://noblemtl.com

Obviously, he remembered that he had bought a bunch of coveted apples from him.

It was nominally for the 2nd Princess Cornelisser, but in fact, it was an act committed to conceal the purchase of the imperial dagger.

He also remembered that the old woman had left with a bulky robe in return.

But it was there.

The circumstances before and after were as vivid as yesterday, but Gucci’s appearance could not be recalled no matter how much he thought about it.

The boots that were with them acted as if their heads had been completely erased.

It was like being possessed by a demon.

“Hey go… could this be? Will the young coachman be alone?”

“Aren’t we supposed to help? yes?”

In the midst of a small commotion, Werner stared at the old man with trembling eyes.

She was also looking at him.

I couldn’t remember it for a while, but seeing his face, I could be sure.

was the author

“Ah, I do it alone. Sit over there!”

“youth!”

The old man who got off the post wagon was about twelve.

It was an act that Gukseo could not understand at all, as to why it was carried like a luggage in the cargo hold instead of riding in an ordinary passenger wagon.

It was fortunate that no one needed his understanding.

The coachman, with his arms rolled up in the cold weather, began to give strength to the wheel of the wagon, which was drowning in the mud.

In a situation where everyone’s eyes were on him, only Werner was the exception.

The man bit his pale lips hard. The old man had a question.

Even without asking, I believed in myself to some extent, but there was something I really wanted to confirm. that day-

“majesty. Go.”

However, Martier Zeilstra did not blink an eye.

Werner looked back at her, startled.

“I don’t have time to waste in a place like this. War is not a friend waiting for someone.”

“·················ogue.”

“let’s go.”

Martier gave orders to the horse with a blunt attitude.

A well-trained warhorse teased its hooves without hesitation.

Some old men looked at this side with earnest eyes, but the priest refused to help, so there was no reason for Guk-seo to approach them.

The man struggled to straighten his expression and turned the horse’s head.

However, it was unavoidable that the old woman’s sticky, dark gaze stuck to her cheek.

He glanced back.

A terrible stench emanated from the robe that came out.

It wasn’t a magic tool, nor was it a cloth covered with magic stone, but it was truly a robe that performed magical magic.

Werner bowed his head, pretending to be ignorant of the goosebumps that had grown all over his body.

His tattooed face hid in the shade of the hood.

– Tick, tick, tick…

Yeah, it wasn’t a conversation to be had in a place like this. It has already passed.

That’s how I hold myself and move forward-

“Right, just a little more! a little bit! A little more!”

“Ugh…!ね!”

“Oh! Whoa!”

‘Kooung, Kudangtang!’ There was the sound of something shattering from behind.

‘Multiple.’ At about the same time, Martier stopped talking and stretched out his arms. meant to stop.

Guk-seo frowned and pulled the reins. The priest’s expression was not serious.

“ha······.”

She took a deep breath, and eventually turned and headed for the postal carriage.

He didn’t forget to leave a sharp warning to the man.

“Don’t get off, just watch. I will solve it.”

“·················ogue.”

“It is better not to think about running away. Believe me.”

Now that I see, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to help them.

I was just reluctant to add another variable to the important mission of escorting Berner Penetian.

Even though it was a good intention that would be over in a few minutes, he clenched his teeth and ignored it, but there was no business for the skinny coachman and the weak and weak.

The priest who had arrived in front of the carriage once again got off his horse.

Then, the old people were ecstatic and rushed in. The coachman also had an hour-long expression on his face.

“Hey, young Nari! I just thought you wouldn’t go!”

“You look good, but you are healing your heart.”

“Thank you in advance, Nari. Thank you so much.”

“Please stay away for a moment. Such a…. Are the wheels completely gone? Is the axle okay?”

The priest chuckled and took off his robe.

Seeing the thick, muscular forearms, the old men were amazed with admiration.

Werner calmly grabbed the reins and looked around them.

Everyone was gathered at the front wheel of the burnt out wagon, and only the old woman in question stood at the back of the stall.

Sitting under the shade of a tree, she looked like a member of the shadows. Our eyes met again.

Small, dull gray eyes, and wrinkled cheeks.

From https://noblemtl.com

Ominous smiling lips. Pale skin like a corpse. empty gaze.

“What the hell are you?”

Guk-seo chewed the words with her teeth and spit it out.

-Jump, jerk, jerk…

Then the old woman moved toward him.

For a moment, I had the illusion that darkness was spreading to this side.

Werner looked at the people with great respect.

But strangely, no one paid any attention to him.

Martier checked him from time to time, but there was no change in his dull expression.

She didn’t care about the old woman who was alone.

Guk-seo’s intact hands and prosthetic arms trembled at the same time. Isn’t that really weird? Like······.

“I am one of three.”

As if interest is only visible to one’s own eyes.

“what······?”

‘One out of three’?

“The Lord is watching.”

The old woman continued. It was a strange voice.

Werner’s tattoo around his eyes was greatly distorted.

A turbulent wind shook the hem of his robe. ‘Whee…!’

“······me? Is she watching me?”

Had he heard such a story in the royal capital, if he had heard it in any private classroom or banquet hall, he would have laughed and dismissed him as just one of many fathers.

From https://noblemtl.com

Or, depending on the mood, the speaker may have been permanently expelled or sent to the countryside.

But the opponent was no ordinary nobleman.

No, he wasn’t an ordinary ‘person’. I had that certainty.

“I know you helped kill Prince Jesse. Aren’t you the one who gave me a robe to hide in and made me go through the labyrinth? All my true experiences are written down.”

“·················ogue.”

“But that was God’s will?”

Werner, too, was thinking about it at first glance.

It was difficult to understand the miracle of that time without God’s hand.

“Am I really receiving the blessing of the Lord?”

Then the old man opened his mouth.

That day, the black mouth that I saw out the window of the Temple of the Boundary was revealed.

Guk-seo felt a cold sweat running down his back and looked at Martin’s expression.

She, too, had a glimpse of him, but her face was dull.

It was as if he had not really seen anything and had not heard anything.

At this, Priest Akmon raised the teacup. ‘Wow!’

“Cheer up, young Nari. 30 seconds! Just hold on for 20 seconds!”

“Oh my gosh, you’re trying…. My daughter is my age!”

From https://noblemtl.com

One by one, the elderly supported each other.

The coachman crawled under the carriage hastily fitted the parts.

Guk-seo hurriedly looked down at the old woman. The whispers were quick and muffled.

“If that was the will of God, how could it be said that the prince was resurrected? The gossip is really unpleasant, and I have trouble sleeping at night. Are the imperial flyers a lie?”

“·················ogue.”

“Is the dirty bloodline sure dead? Come on, answer me.”

‘hurry!’ He clenched his teeth and groaned. There were blood spots on the back of the neck where the burn remained.

But the old man had a calm gaze from the beginning to the end. The skull-like jaw slowly opened.

“Don’t worry. God’s creation can never kill His Majesty… Sneijder will not be destroyed until the Temple of the Boundary comes to the royal road.”

“·················ogue.”

“You will be more valuable. The glory of the past cannot be compared.”

Those words took my breath away.

“Wow!”

Shake! Guk-seo took a deep breath and looked up.

Suddenly, a neatly wheeled wagon came out of the mud and landed on the ground.

The old men embraced the priest with joy like children.

A sly smile crept up on Martin’s cheeks.

Some of them were fruits and cheeses from the basket and shoved them into her arms.

He waved his hand saying there was no need for this, but of course no one listened.

The old people who were feeling very happy came to Werner.

The complexion of the priest and the guk-seo hardened at once.

“Hey, are you guys? Nari, try this too. An apple that my son-in-law picked and sent.”

“This is a pomegranate! This is Yuzu! Go home and wash thoroughly in water with vinegar…”

“Oh, you must have a servant. What are you igniting again and again!”

However, the old people were only kind to him, regardless of the fact that they were wary for their own reasons.

Werner held an apple in his hand in the freezing cold.

I didn’t want to touch anything dirty, but now I’m not in the mood to go into detail.

It was because of the old woman in question. He unconsciously looked down at his hand.

And it stiffened.

‘It’s a trap. run away

-WA’

From https://noblemtl.com

On the surface of the apple that was red as blood, there were letters engraved with dark blue ink.

The prosthetic arm with the fruit began to tremble in shock.

Wilhelmina Abraham. ‘WA’ was the initials of the sister, excluding the last name.

The man raised his head and looked around.

But there were only old men with innocent faces around.

If you wanted to doubt, you could doubt everyone, and if you thought no, no one looked like the culprit.

The man clenched his chin and looked for the old woman from a while ago.

“under······.”

But no one was there.

It was nothing more than a few pieces of fallen leaves, rolling around on the dirt floor where there were no footprints left.

In an instant, the strength in Guk-seo’s hand was gone. Everything was instant.

– Tuk!

“Aww, the apple has fallen!”

“Wipe clean, wipe clean. yes.”

“Now it is. I’ll just go.”

After confirming that he had not received anything, the priest cut off his words moderately.

Among the crowds of old men, the apples were being polished to a smooth surface.

There was no evidence left behind. It was only then that Werner had a lightning bolt of realization.

Wet lashes began to tremble.

It was terrifying.

“Thank you very much, priest. I will never forget the grace you gave me. I didn’t expect the whole wheel to come off…”

“no. Sorry for not helping you sooner. Then, I have an urgent business, so let’s go first.”

“Yes, yes.”

“Take a look, young Nari!”

…and the more I thought about it, the weirder it got.

I couldn’t figure it out at the time because of my fear of death, but looking back now, it felt very suspicious.

It was by no means my sister’s way of sneaking into my bedroom at night and trying to kill using a servant I see every day.

She used a much more subtle and unobtrusive method than this.

Could that priest break my door and come in, perhaps at the right moment? How about the mayor?

“Go. We must cross the garden over there before the moon rises.”

“·················ogue.”

From https://noblemtl.com

Or maybe you already knew it?

“majesty. Where are you uncomfortable?”

The reason my sister had to warn me in this way was probably because there was no other way.

So, is this the Crown Princess’s trap?

Are you trying to estrange your aunt and father in this way? That child…

Losing one of the lowly bloody things, did that child go crazy?

“majesty.”

like my mother?

“majesty!”

flash! Werner stepped out of his thoughts and looked straight ahead.

The priest, who had already climbed onto the horse, looked at me and frowned.

Even though it was a very small call, he seemed to be concerned, and his eyes were serious as he kept looking back at the mail wagon.

Even though he was sweating dryly, Werner thought it was really funny.

Even so, don’t they already know who I am?

“.

Then, Guk-seo spoke in a very thin voice.

It was a voice that could be heard by anyone.

“I was exhausted and hungry, so I almost ate their fruits.”

“·················ogue.”

“If it’s okay with you, I would like to spend a day under the garden today. I’m slowly getting phantom pain in my limbs.”

“·················ogue.”

Martier looked at him for a long time. really very long.

Eventually, the wagons carrying the elderly left first, and until they were so far away that even the sound of their hooves could not be heard.

“Let’s go and find a place to camp.”

Finally, a satisfactory answer came back.

Werner smiled invisibly.

*

And again, a few days in the military camp passed without a hitch.

From https://noblemtl.com

Of course, I don’t feel that this place is ‘peaceful’ as I volunteer at an aid station, but…

“Hurry up! Hurry up! Hurry up!”

It’s a surprise!

– Multifaceted, multifaceted, multifaceted, multifaceted!

The sound of horseshoes rang right in my ear.

As I was preparing François’ medicine, I ran out of the tent.

The knights with red flags on their backs were running fast and heading towards the barracks of the Most High.

The crowd on the road was startled and rushed back.

“Get out of here!”

– Slap, tick, tick!

“It’s urgent to go to His Majesty the Emperor!”

A loud shout followed. The atmosphere was cool.

I don’t understand why the writer/god is helping Werner. I can kind of get why it was the “Lord’s will” to kill Jesse because he died in the original and maybe he had to die in this world too, kinda like an unavoidable canon event. But why is he receiving so much help now? Isn’t he a “villain”, why would the writer interfere? Is it to further the “plot”?

personally think because jesse jung is there that is why- that’s the main reason. theoretically he is another god/writer. that is why the story has deviated so much.
if ham ga-in came from modern “korea”, that korea is also written and is/was fictional, hence jesse “reading” it along side the actual story as a plot basis for the original. in a nutshell, both jesse and the writer is living in the same space or was from the same plane (before he transmigrated). so i kinda understand why the writer wanting to “get back” his/her story to its actual plot as it already changed so much.
