What Happens When the Second Male Lead Powers Up chapter 73

What Happens When the Second Male Lead Powers Up 73

073 It’s All About Me (3)

“just now······.”

It was a feeling that could not be called an illusion.

I sat in the middle of the circle and looked down at the wren, who was tilting its body to and fro.

The sanctuary was drawing a straight garden as if it had been distorted.

But I saw it clearly.

As soon as the bird lands, a golden circle that wobbles like a broken TV screen.

“Little boy. Are you really a god?”

– beep beep

The little bird chirped naturally.

The three red pandas were hiding behind my legs.

Is it scary? Or are you still hiding your face from birds?

– Kiyy

Demi bravely came out and stood in front of me.

Then he opened and closed his small mouth, taking a threatening attitude.

The smallest of the three, he really acted like a boss, as I said.

It was strange and cute, so it made me laugh.

“Demi, it’s okay.”

I comforted him.

Even without any good reason, I had a strange conviction that the wren would do no harm to me.

It was definitely not an ordinary animal.

But what entered my mind was curiosity rather than anxiety.

[Would you like ether?]

My voice hums like it’s on the mic. The bird was not surprised at all.

Demi rose from her toes, palm leaves the size of my torso.

It looked like it could be used as a shield.

I took a small deep breath, slowly released the ether and delivered it to the wren.

I was able to control the amount much less by imagining half a spoonful of syrup cold medicine.

By the way,

“I’m not eating.”

To be precise, my ether was not absorbed into his body at all.

I was a little flustered and poured more ether on the wren.

But the ether just came back to me.

“I can’t do this.”

Although it was a bird that disturbed the sanctuary for a short time, it did not respond to the ether like normal humans or animals.

I sat cross-legged on the circle and stretched out my hands.

“Come to my brother, right?”

– Beep, beep

The wren jumped towards me a couple of times, tilted its head continuously, and then flapped its wings a few times.

It was very comfortable to sit in the palm of your hand. very well paid

Demi, Leah, and Perry crawled between my legs, feeling relieved at that moment.

A handful of wren, and a darai of red pandas.

“You don’t like ttukbaegi or ttukbaegi, do you?”

– Beep! Beep beep!

The answer was a little big. It was clear that he hated the name Kristel had suggested.

The bird was surprisingly communicative, and rather than avoiding people, he enjoyed riding his hand.

I wondered if it could be a cub of a divine beast.

So I wondered if it was bad at absorbing ether.

I don’t know if the gods can reproduce, or if the gods sent this guy in an underdeveloped form.

Unlike the red pandas, who usually stay with me in my room, the wren has been roaming everywhere over the past three days.

I was just sitting on Kristel’s shoulder, and I thought I couldn’t see him all day yesterday, so it was as if I had stayed in the prince’s room for a day.

He was truly a free spirit.

Even when I offered food or water, he showed no interest.

I thought it was coming from outside to eat bugs.

“It seems that Kristel can’t give up ‘oyster’ and ‘tuk’.”

– beep

The bird seemed to have died a bit of grass.

Christel, whom I met this morning at a restaurant, even brought up a name like ‘Gulbi’.

If I couldn’t solve it in the ‘tuk’, I didn’t know if I would propose a ‘guldari’ tomorrow.

[How about perseverance?]

I carefully lowered the oracle.

No matter how much I thought about it, I thought this would be the best name I could make with the letters ‘tuk’.

I thought ‘Sylphy’ would be fine because I was a kid I met on a windy cliff, and I was thinking of calling it ‘Nan (鸞)’ to become a wonderful bird…

Kristel was also working hard, but she couldn’t ignore her sincerity.

[Isn’t that bad? Wherever I go, I have the courage to live well.]

The bird blinked its dark eyes. Sorry, I know this isn’t the best.

– Beep beep!

The bird responded eagerly with its yellow beak wide open.

It wasn’t that he didn’t like the fact that he didn’t peck his palms.

Is it roughly saying, ‘I will accept your efforts as virtual, human being’?

– Padadat

Bravery moved his slender wings and went down.

Then, the three plump tails of the red pandas were used as a nest and buried.

Demi, who had already fallen asleep in her eyes, complained.

“First, Kohae. My hyung does 50 ether cycles and sleeps.”

I whispered

It was clear that my legs would soon become numb because of the divine beasts, but I decided to consider this as a kind of training.

Me too, but it was right to become a stronger priest in order to properly take care of them.

With the sound of ‘paaat’, the golden ether once again spread to every corner of the sanctuary.

May 31st was a day with a gentle breeze and clear sunlight.

“Happy birthday, Prince Jesse!”

“thank you.”

“Happy Birthday. May the glory of the Lord be with you.”

“thank you. have a good day.”

Wherever I walked in the detached palace, servants and servants flocked to greet me.

I received congratulations one by one with a bright face.

It’s a pity that Prince Jesse couldn’t hear this, and everyone I met today was only saying good things to me.

The busy emperor sent a handwritten card and a bouquet of flowers to the chief servant.

Cardinal Bootier came to my room on the way to work, gave me a kiss on the cheek and left.

“Prince, this is the cannole we baked ourselves this morning. They said they liked it, so I made about 100.”

“Oh my gosh, why so many……. I will enjoy this food. thank you.”

“Yes! Then I will deliver it straight to your room.”

Some of the kitchen servants bowed their heads as if they were touching the floor, bowed and walked away.

The people in the north were originally like this, and everyone had very big hands.

In the morning, I received a birthday prize that almost broke my leg, and it took me two and a half hours to eat it all, even with the cooperation of Benjamin and Canael.

“Prince, I think I can eat what I got today for a year.”

Ganael, who followed, smiled and admired.

I nodded and was greeted by another attendant.

My relationship with Emperor Frederick wasn’t bad, but I couldn’t hold a birthday party in public because I was a hostage.

As usual, a monetary gift was impossible.

I also didn’t like noisy and burdensome things, so I thought it was good.

Then it happened like this.

Everywhere I went, strangers poured out homemade food on me, and I tried every bread and dessert, learning that sincerity is not a refusal.

It was all delicious, but I felt like I couldn’t even eat a late lunch because I was full.

How the hell was the ‘Great Subjugation of Beasts’?

“Happy birthday, Prince! You’re also wearing a hoodie.”

Then, a familiar voice was heard.

I could see Kristel approaching quickly from the other side of the corridor.

It was the same with her hair raised high, but she was rarely dressed in a dress today.

She smiled like an angel and held out a small package to me.

“It is a book. Actually, I prepared a pirate ship for the prince…”

“yes?”

“Joke! Anyway, it’s the best-selling book in the zodiac these days, so I’m sure you’ll like it. When I asked the Cardinal His Excellency, he said that it would be okay to give a book as a gift.”

Blue-gray eyes gleamed with joy. I smiled and said thank you.

In the end, I got a gift from Kristel.

“thank you. I will enjoy reading it.”

“You’re welcome. Did you receive a present from the Duke as well?”

“no.”

I never met him today, let alone a present.

It would not be easy to not care that much about the birthday of a person living in the same house.

Well, it wasn’t a pity that I didn’t really want anything from the prince.

Surprised, Kristel’s eyes widened.

“It’s strange. I thought he would make a great gift like a royal family.”

“It’s not even that close.”

“Hey, you know everything.”

She winked alternately between her left and right eyes.

It’s strange every time I see it, wait. why do you say that

“Isn’t that something the princess knows too? To be precise, it is a secret between the princess and me.”

“That is correct. Where are you going?”

Kristel smiled as if she couldn’t win and changed the topic.

When I replied that I was going to confession, she said, ‘Then I’ll escort you. This is a service for today’s hero!’ and rejoiced

As soon as I started walking with her, Benjamin and Canael were very fond of it.

“Yeah, I named it Wren. It’s called perseverance.”

“Oh my, it’s totally my favourite! Well done.”

It felt really good to see other people looking happier than me on my birthday.

*

[When you are ready, please feel free to confess.]

“Yes, yes, my prince…”

The man standing outside the confessional took a deep breath with a trembling voice.

I quietly waited for the confessor’s words to begin.

In his hand, he held a travel book, <The Perfect Guide: Conquest of the zodiac in a week (with map)>, which Christel had given him.

Since it was a new book released in April of this year, it was packed with the latest information.

It made me wonder why I hadn’t thought of looking at the travel brochure until now.

Actually, I didn’t even know such a book existed.

The book was full of vivid knowledge that is hard to find in history books.

Although it may not be of any use right now, it felt just as fresh as the first time I read Biweekly Lister.

It seemed like a much better gift than expected.

“I was afraid that people behind me would hear that…”

Finally, the man whispered softly.

I realized that outside the wooden window, he was trying his best at the confessional.

There was no confessional in the separate palace, so I did not know that the temporary use of a small prayer room would bring such a result.

A bitter laugh came out of nowhere.

Although there was a temple next to the bell tower where the ‘Ark of Biryeom’ was located, the entire cliff was a place where outsiders were not allowed to enter.

I was contemplating where I should receive a confession, and with the help of the chief of the private palace, I found a wooden prayer room.

I thought it would be perfect if I went in and sat down, and confessors lined up outside to confess one by one.

[Don’t worry too much. The people standing behind you are the same believers. Since the Lord is watching, even if you hear a confession, he will pretend you don’t know.]

I plausibly comforted the man.

He groaned for a moment, then opened his mouth, stammering as if he had made up his mind.

Suddenly, I wondered if this was the believer who had been waiting in line since dawn to confess for the first time.

“I am, I am a priest from the Holy See. that······. I am in charge of supplying the ether for His Highness Duke Evelynn and Princess Sarnez.”

[Oh, that’s him. Nice to meet you.]

I also greeted him a little at his whispers.

Sir John Haines, a paladin from the Holy See, and a priest-level priest named ‘Sant’, I knew.

We only met a few times while passing by, but when Sant saw me, he said he didn’t know where to put himself and bowed down, so he remembered my appearance clearly.

He’ll come to confession.

“By the way······. The work was so hard, I felt like giving up. I know it’s an honor to be sent to the Empire, but…”

Sant cried. I was a little embarrassed and put my face close to the wooden window.

[You must have suffered a heart attack. Was it a lot of work?]

“Huh, it’s not that hard. Prince Nihim…”

Beyond the grate, a large, round-bodied young man could be seen weeping like chicken dung.

I hurriedly opened the confessional door and held out a handkerchief to him.

Believers standing at a distance behind them turned their heads in surprise.

[it’s okay. Please speak slowly.]

I said. He clenched my handkerchief and trembled.

It reminded me of a 20-year-old man who joined the army as a recruit at the end of the military.

“The Princess and His Majesty… You’re killing me…”

[yes?]

I was so cold that a beep went into the microphone. Is it bullying at work?

“I swear to God, I am not taunting. Really. Those nine…. No matter how big I am, I’m like a priest… The two of you took my ether relentlessly… Khhh.”

Tears welled up again in her innocent eyes.

[Are you saying that it was difficult to handle the two of you alone?]

“And that too…. It’s too bad, really. In the first week of delivery, I passed out three times ha…”

No, what are you talking about?

[Did you pass out due to ether depletion?]

“When the princess receives the ether, the High Majesty draws the ether without giving her a break. Both of you are very, very different from the average paladin. The Holy Paladins of the Holy See… No one eats so greedily, suck.ぅ.”

I was stunned and looked at Sant’s face.

I’ve never been hungry, so why is the indignity my share?

I’ll be honest here. I kind of hate this book.
I’ve read books like this before where the MC is sent into a book as a sub-character and vows not to get involved.
But clearly gets involved even though he doesn’t need to.

He couldn’t go to any other place in the north and had to go to the same place as the protagonist?
And now it looks like he’s going to join the protagonist without even needing to.

The author whines about how the situation is forcing him but is it really?
He could put his foot down and not do any of the things that have happened so far.
Has he been led by fate? Sure. But he’s also jumping along with fate like a good puppet.
