EP14. To Calderon
Returning to the Association, Sean and Levy headed to the backyard first.
As I heard from Mirajane the other day, the guides are looking for a party here. In fact, it was also here that Sean was looking for a guide for his free adventure.
But Wendy was nowhere to be seen. Should she say instead? There was a man with a familiar face. It was a guide who told them about the habitat of the subspecies trolls.
Sean approached him first and talked to him.
“Hey.”
“Huh? . . . You, that kid back then!”
“I’m not a kid anymore, are you? He’s a platinum adventurer. Platinum.”
“Sheesh. Giggles that you have a little bit of talent…”
Even though his mouth is a bit rough and blunt, I don’t think he’s a bad character. If not, there would be no way they would show themselves worrying about themselves and diligently explaining to the guide.
Indeed, he muttered with his arms folded as if he felt that he owed Sean and Levy his heart.
“So what happened this time?”
“Today is nothing else, do you know a guide named Wendy?”
“Wendy…? Oh, is she talking about her blue-haired kid?”
Because he was the same guide, and because Henerd wasn’t such a big city, he immediately figured out who Wendy was just by hearing the name.
“I see you know. Then, does she know where Wendy lives?”
Apparently Wendy had told Sean the other day that she was a native of Henerd. Then, of course, the house would be somewhere in Henerd.
The guide listened to Shawn’s question, pondered for a moment, then shrugged his shoulders and answered.
“I don’t know. How do i know that I’m not even friendly.”
“Is that so?”
“Why? Is there something wrong with that little boy?”
“That’s a problem you don’t have to worry about.”
At Sean’s reaction, he snorted as if he was full of energy.
“Ha, the kid has no manners…”
“Excuse me. No matter who sees it, you don’t seem to have any manners, do you?”
“Tsk. Why don’t you stop arguing and go somewhere else to find out?”
Seeing the guide waving his hand as if telling him to go, Sean eventually turned his back. Then he spoke softly from behind.
“That guy. The guy who used to come out every day didn’t come out yesterday and today? When you meet, ask him why he became lazy.”
“Yes. I’ll tell you he’s worried.”
“····What are you worried about? It just goes off quickly.”
Are you the type of person who gets rougher the more shy you are? Shawn stepped out of his backyard, thinking of Paulo, where he might be home.
Shawn approached Levy, who was waiting for her, and asked her.
“Can’t you find people with magic?”
“I can find it. Instead, we need traces of what we are looking for.”
“What are the traces?”
“A part of the body like hair is best. Even if it’s something that came into contact with the body.”
Sean pondered for a while after hearing Levy’s explanation. The only thing Wendy ever touched that immediately came to mind was the troll’s nose. The association took it, so they asked for it back.
Sean, lost in his thoughts, held out his hand and said.
“Wendy held my hand a few days ago, can’t that be enough?”
With a slightly odd nuance, Levy narrowed her eyes and glared at Sean. Only then did Sean, realizing that there was room for the meaning of something to be interpreted strangely, hurriedly made an excuse.
“No, you know what that means!? It’s just a fleeting glance!”
“····Hung. If you use Sean’s hand for magic, Sean’s location will come out, but Wendy’s location will not come out. If someone else comes out, I will come out!”
Leaving behind him, Levy’s sudden outburst of jealousy made Sean shyly nod his head in agreement.

“Of course not!”
“…Then magic won’t work. Is there any other way?”
Shaun’s self-talk calmed Levi’s excitement and returned to his thoughts. Even though Henard is not big, it’s a relative meaning. Compared to cities such as Laes and Helioden, it was a small city.
In other words, it was not as small as Sean and Levy’s Lake Village, so it was impossible to find Wendy’s house by visiting one by one.
“Shall we just ask the counter?”
“Can you tell me that?”
“I have a method.”
Levi thought of something good and said that to Sean. She wondered what her methods were, but first Sean decided to follow her in silence.
Striding Levi led the way, and Shaun quietly followed behind her. Soon, Levy’s footsteps landed at the association’s counter.
Would the counter be willing to tell us Wendy’s personal information? Apart from being benefactors of the association, the thought that the possibility of that was small did not leave them.
Meanwhile, the new receptionist, who checked Levi’s figure and bowed politely, opened her mouth with a smile.
“What are you doing? Levi.”
“There is someone I need to meet.”
“Are you talking about the person you need to meet? Can you tell us who you are trying to meet and what is the purpose of meeting?”
The reason they wanted to meet Wendy was personal. If I say it plainly, will the association listen to it?
However, Levy’s answer was different from Sean’s expectations.
“I want to meet the adventurers who were said to have been affected by the power of Kor Kurasm a while ago.”

“I want to compare their conditions with those of us who have faced the monsters face-to-face, and investigate Kor Kurasm’s abilities in more detail. In other words, the magician’s passion for learning?”
Her receptionist pondered for a moment at Levy’s answer, which came out skillfully without interruption, then wrote down something on her paper, and she happily nodded her head.
“Yes. All right. Instead, if you learn something about the ability, can you share it with the Association? Of course, the choice is up to Levy-sama.”
“Of course. The duty of an adventurer is to defeat monsters and make peace on the continent, right?”
“Thank you. As expected, Henard has a heroic mindset. I learned a lot thanks to you.”
The conversation between the two flowed like flowing water, like a well-planned play. Sean, who had been watching the scene blankly, clapped his hands in admiration when Levy returned belatedly.
“Yeah. He seemed like a consummate con artist.”
“Shaun. Are you calling that a compliment now?”
“But I was just expressing my honest opinion.”
“I lied with tears in my eyes just for Sean’s sake…!”
Levy whimpered and covered her face with one hand the size of her small, sobbing. Sean, who had been watching the scene quietly, approached Levi’s ear and whispered.
“But the acting just now is a bit bad.”
“····Issang!”
For Sean, who had already played around with Levy’s crying pranks since he was a child, it was so easy to see through the acting. After arguing once, the two soon calmed down and moved on to the address Levy had accepted.
It was a small clinic that Henard had never been to before. After showing the association’s permit, entry and exit proceeded swiftly. After all, in areas where monsters often appear, the influence of the association is bound to be strong.
Anyway, Sean and Levy, who entered the treatment center easily, were able to meet one of the adventurers who was swept away by Kor Kurasm’s ability and even spread it to the sword.
Confused at the sight of the two of them, he soon nodded his head as if bewitched by Levy’s calm explanation and began to calm down again.
As Sean watched the scene, he unexpectedly realized that Levy also had a talent for speech.
“I thought you killed that vicious monster… Thank you.”
“No. If you’re an adventurer, that’s what you should do.”
“You said you wanted to hear how our party fell under his ability, right? Of course, it’s a terrible memory to think about, but I’ll say it anyway. If that’s an adventurer’s duty…”
He was a fairly upright adventurer. It’s hard to believe that he engaged in a knife fight with a colleague.
Seeing him like that, he was able to realize once again how dangerous the Kor Kurasm they were dealing with was. It is also true that the association’s mistake could have resulted in a more terrible outcome than losing one’s life.
Sean and Levy listened to him and shared their own experiences. Of course, the original purpose was to inquire about Wendy’s whereabouts, so after the conversation had progressed to some extent, Levy carefully floated a rhyme.
“But I heard that the cause of the quarrel was the guide girl…”
“Oh, that’s right. Wendyra is her friend. She was a lively and bright personality, and she was a good friend who brought the atmosphere to the party…”
“I heard he wasn’t there. Then, by any chance, does she know where Wendy was?”
He shook his head at Levi’s question.
“No. I had no idea at the time. She later heard that she was being chased by a troll, but she never went to see it herself…”
“I see. Then, does she, by any chance, know where Miss Wendy lives? She also wants to hear from Miss Wendy herself.”
“I don’t know. Instead, let me introduce you to a friend she might know. She must have known, since the guy recommended Wendy.”

Sean and Levy soon turned to the friend he told them about.
