Damn Academy chapter 213

213 - Host (10)

213 – Host (10)

The time when Damian and Louis were in the midst of a fight. The rest of the art club also faced the enemy.

The remaining members were also suddenly ambushed just like Damian.

After a few minutes of chase, the carriage was completely destroyed. The horses pulling the carriage broke their rope and ran away somewhere in a panic.

Rilke, the head of the theater department and the top second-year student in the magic department, single-handedly devastated the art and instrumental music departments.

The art department tried hard to avoid direct conflict, but they were easily stranded because non-combat members of the instrumental music department were also brought along.

Rilke protected himself with a translucent circular barrier and heightened his senses to determine the number of his opponents.

Giving up fleeing, they changed their strategy to ambush and hide.

“I know roughly where you’re hiding.”

The presence radiated by one highly skilled wizard was greater than that of the art and instrumental music departments combined.

A pure white projectile was floating like a snowball, made of pure magical energy.

On average, it is an intermediate level magic that one only gains proficiency in around the age of thirty, but Rilke was able to use it without difficulty even as a teenager.

The art and instrumental music club members took their time taking cover in a hilly area where trees grew sparsely.

Rilke said with a grin.

“It’s just like it says in the anti-magic tactics textbook. “You guys studied pretty hard in class, right?”

Everyone was silent. Rilke swatted away a flying insect that flew before his eyes with his hand. There seemed to be no tension at all.

“But how long are you going to stay like this? Should we bet first? Or surrender.”

Rilke’s combat ability was outstanding enough to be counted among all those who took on this request.

Even if we put everything together and attack at the same time, the chances of winning were slim.

However, because Rilke was a cautious person, he refrained from unnecessary provocations or hasty entry.

Hubert, the instrumentalist who was in ambush, spoke in a low voice to his colleagues.

“I’m going to turn. Hey, are all the top undergraduate students so crazy strong?”

Cecil, who was hiding behind a rock, glared at Hubert with an expression that asked if he was asking the obvious.

“You are also the head of the Department of Magic. “Is there no way?”

“If we had enough supplies, we would have had a chance of winning. But because you didn’t do your job, all of my things were taken away by Gail.”

“… Well, I have to find a way. You can’t just stay like this. By the way, Damian….”

“You were alone. “At least I got hurt.”

My classmates and seniors all avoided each other’s gaze as if they were frustrated.

Lilith, who had been silently crouching over him, opened her mouth.

“Thank you Damien.”

Cecil asked back.

“What?”

“It’s no help to us. “If I had been the leader instead of Damien, I would have abandoned you mercilessly.”

“….”

Lilith released her cover as if she had made up her mind and trotted forward openly.

Rilke’s eyes narrowed. It was a face she knew well. Because she was a junior who I tried hard to persuade to join the theater department at the beginning of the semester.

Rilke welcomed it slyly.

“Oh my Lilith, I can’t believe I’m seeing you in a place like this instead of a social club. “You can be really mean.”

Lilith bowed her head.

“Nice to meet you… senior.”

“You didn’t come out to fight, right? “I know your skills very well.”

Rilke’s insight was as sharp as her skills.

“….”

“Do you just want to stop unnecessary resistance and surrender? If you only hand over some information and supplies and return to Eternira without warning, I won’t touch you any further than this. “It seems like a reasonable offer.”

Lilith shook her head.

“Our team leader will be doing his best from afar. “We can’t take the easy route either.”

“… Damian? Well, he’s a great friend, but… It’s still clumsy. “Do you really think Damien would have accomplished something?”

“….”

“Damian was probably beaten to death somewhere in that mountain valley. As many as three of our elite members went there. Let’s catch him. Well, I gave him some special treatment.”

“….”

“It seems that Damian unknowingly antagonized other boys. “No matter how much of a sparring match it is, punching a senior is a bit much.”

Lilith’s expression did not change.

“Damian is stronger than you think. “I know this well because I’ve seen it up close.”

“Umm….”

Then, the sound of small wings rang out from somewhere.

One Stitch came to Rilke with her letter in his mouth.

She snatched the letter from her and shook it gently without even opening it.

“Ah, it’s a letter from Icarus. Looks like the battle is over over there. Now, even after seeing this, you still blindly trust Damian?”

“….”

“It looks like the other side has reached a conclusion, so shall we end this soon?”

Without warning, Rilke fired out her magic spheres that had been placed in the air at her.

As expected, Lilith deployed a low-level demon-level defense barrier. His barrier was barely big enough to cover his body.

“Kyaaa!”

The barrier blocked the magic sphere, but eventually could not withstand it and disappeared, emitting a shock wave.

Pow!

In the aftermath, Lilith flew backwards and rolled around on the floor. It was an extremely one-sided match.

“I said I knew your skills. “Now, I’ll show you how Icarus defeated Damian.”

“….”

Rilke opened her letter and began to read her contents.

“Let’s see. Are you next after these bastards… Ouch!”

Rilke was so shocked that he missed her letter.

She then picked it up again and turned her letter back and forth as if it were strange.

“What is this?”

“Looks like Damien won.”

Rilke just blinked her eyes, as if bewildered. Lilith dusted herself off and stood up.

It seemed that Rilke had not yet noticed that the earth was trembling little by little.

“And we’re not done here yet.”

The earth faintly rumbled as if a cavalry unit was coming from afar.

Thump, thump, thump.

Soon after, dozens of Plantera scouts began to appear through the forest.

“Plantera? “Why are they here?”

The Plantera Legion quickly passed by Lilith and headed straight for Rilke.

Then, they randomly clung to Rilke’s barrier and began to attack.

Every time the heavy fist struck, Rilke’s barrier flashed.

“Now, wait a minute. What’s wrong with these things? “This is what scouts are supposed to do: protect students!”

The Planteras showed hostility only to Rilke. Although it occasionally attacked with magic spheres, the damage was minimal as it was designed to deal with magical beasts called Scout Plantera. Even if it was damaged, it was impossible to fight back because they pushed back with their numbers.

Seeing Rilke being put on the defensive, members of the art and instrumental music departments who had been hiding cautiously emerged.

Cecil said with an expression of disbelief.

“Why does Plantera not touch humans?” Are you attacking a student? “Leave us alone and just Rilke?”

A Plantera stood before Lilith and knelt down on his knees. Then he handed a bouquet of bright yellow flowers to me.

Lilith received the bouquet and smelled the scent as if she was used to it.

“Thank you. “I don’t know why you’re doing this to me.”

The Planteras were protecting Lilith as if they were protecting a sacred plant.

Seeing that, Cecil clenched her fists with a sad expression.

Just before rejoining her members, Luna got down from the back, perhaps conscious of her gaze.

“Damian is here?”

“Damian? “Damian is back?”

As I approached the camp, Tami, a senior in the art department, spotted me for the first time and called her members together.

Soon after, most of the art and instrumental music departments ran towards me, making a fuss.

All of them were in disarray, as if they had been at war. Still, seeing as everyone’s expressions were bright, it seemed like there was no major problem.

He rushed over in a hurry and said one word at a time with a face that looked like he had seen a ghost.

“Wow.”

“You really came back fine.”

“Did you really win everything and come back?”

“I got a little lucky.”

Perhaps it was because Luna became embarrassed while observing her team members that she hid her body behind my back.

Sierra said, looking at her Luna.

“Why is he… ?”

The atmosphere was not very welcoming to Luna.

“It’s good to be safe… I picked up a stray girl. We survived and died because of the members of the theater club. Moreover, Fabella hasn’t joined yet.”

“Has Mr. Favela arrived yet?”

“Yes. She thought it was Pavel coming from behind…. She first sent a letter saying she was heading to the next town and then there was no news. “What happened?”

“Senior Favela will be fine.”

“Have you met?”

“According to Luna, there are no injuries whatsoever. “Favela senior won.”

“… Favela wins? “Do you believe what that kid said?”

“Yes. “I checked it myself.”

“Still, he attacked us….”

From Noble mtl dot com

“The theater department has collapsed, and Luna no longer has the will to continue her mission. Moreover, she was in a remote state and was exhausted. And she even secretly helped us with the theater department at the Magic Society.”

“What… then….”

The seniors in the art department reluctantly agreed.

Even if it is a rivalry, it is only limited to this mission. When we return to Eternia, we are friends and classmates again. There is no reason to be so cold-hearted as to ignore an injury.

Luna seemed to be burdened by her attention, so I changed the topic.

“What are these planteras? And the carriage….”

Planteras were cleaning up the surrounding messy land and repairing the half-wrecked carriage.

When I saw the condition of the carriage, a thousand thoughts ran through my head.

That is not my carriage. Strictly speaking, it was Silverine’s carriage.

I should have expected this to happen. It’s my fault.

“Actually, we don’t know why the Planteras came. I think Lilith did something… “He doesn’t know either.”

“… Yes?”

Lilith was engrossed in picking fruit from a tree with some plantera from a distance. What on earth happened that led Plantera to intervene in the students’ affairs?

“Oh, and where is Senior Rilke?”

In response to her letter, Rilke declared her surrender and informed me of Luna’s location.

“… It’s been a while since she ran away. Lilith! “Stop that and come here!”

Only then did Lilith look at me and pretended to know me.

“Oh, huh? Damien!”

She stops what she is doing and runs towards me, her hair flying. He seemed to still have a hard time dealing with me, so he greeted me awkwardly.

“You were safe… Oh, and, um, are you hurt anywhere? “Has the village survey been completed?”

While she was talking, she noticed Luna and stared at her for a moment.

“Yes. “I’ll finish the maintenance first and then explain.”

***

This is the information about Poron Village that was semi-forcibly taken from the theater club members.

The name of the missing person is ‘Yuan’. He was a 17-year-old boy who worked as a carpenter. What’s unique about him is that his parents are from Haman City. It was said that the boy went missing and his body was found near a stream a few days later. It was also reported that a maniac had been haunting the village around the time of the disappearance.

[I muttered to myself as if I was holding a sword and having a conversation. I said that because he was a maniac and couldn’t communicate normally. That’s all we found out.]

Icarus, who confessed all of his research, thought it was meaningless, but he was different to me.

It became clearer as it intersected with missing person information from the previous village.

First of all, both of the missing people were boys around my age. Their past history is strangely similar to mine.

The second missing person was from Haman. This is where the Temple of Acates is located, where I spent my childhood.

Also, there is a lot of overlap in the alphabets of the names.

The instigator of this incident may have come to target me.

Moreover, I recently received a warning message about the magic sword hunter from Zion’s teacher, so I can’t help but be even more suspicious.

Professor Candinella said that the problem with the magic sword hunter was resolved well… The more I dug into it, the more anxious I became.

There is no guarantee that there will be only one magic sword hunter. One thing has been dealt with, but there may be some leftover that hasn’t been figured out and is causing problems.

Moreover, if Eternia had known that this incident was related to me, they certainly would not have entrusted this incident to the students.

I know that the magic sword hunter is targeting me, but someone will also know that I own a magic sword.

It is clear that this is an issue that requires extreme vigilance. But….

“It’s not a good idea to return now.”

“That’s right. “The chances of us taking the lead and completing the mission have increased.”

“With our full power, I think we can defeat Gale or something, right?”

However, it was not easy to persuade my colleagues.

I asked my team members if they would like to return, citing the depletion of stockpiles and the large number of injuries as reasons, but most of them were against it.

The mainstream opinion was that it would be a shame to leave the final survey behind and continue like this.

It was difficult to convince them of the dangers of this mission, and even if the art department was forced to return with the authority of the leader, there was a high possibility that it would split with the instrumental music department. Anything about the magic sword hunter is just vague speculation. Even I wasn’t sure.

If potential danger lurks, it may be better to move together than to separate.

Cecil, who had been listening with her arms crossed, opened her mouth.

“I am also opposed to returning. Now we’re just waiting for the final investigation. There will be no problem if you supply supplies from the last village. “They beat the strongest theater club, so why can’t they beat the dance club?”

I ignored Cecil’s words and asked Lilith.

“Lilith, what do you think?”

Lilith was peeling the fruit of an unknown tree and looked at me.

“I will do whatever the leader tells me to do.”

Lilith said it didn’t matter what happened.

“….”

“Rather than that… Do you want to eat this? “Me and Plantera took it from me.”

Lilith handed me the flesh of a pure white fruit. When she reluctantly accepted it, Luna, who was sitting quietly next to her, looked at Lilith blankly.

“… Do you need it too?”

Luna just stared at Lilith’s question without answering.

Cecil must have suddenly been in a moody mood, passing the map in her hand to the person next to her and quietly leaving the meeting.

“By the way… “What happened to the Planteras?”

“They come to my aid in certain situations. “I don’t know why.”

“Can I use it however I want?”

Lilith was embarrassed.

“Up to there… can not. Sorry.”

Hubert said.

“Did you impress the vice-principal with anything? “This is the first time I’ve seen Plantera favor only one student.”

“No!”

My thoughts are similar. I’ve never heard of an average student controlling a Plantera. It is said that even in Eternia, only a very few people, including Vice Principal Erzebet, can use it.

Not only me but my colleagues also look at Lilith with curious faces.

If you look at the way the Planteras treated Lilith, they seemed like knights serving a princess. I don’t think even I know the reason, but if I ask Silverine, I might be able to get a clear answer.

***

The members fell into a deep sleep early, probably because they were relaxed.

The camp was so quiet that I could even hear the sound of her clouds flowing by.

Cecil volunteered to stay on guard alone.

She was able to have the newly joined Luna keep watch for her with her spirit, but since her magical power was depleted, she decided to take a little more stability.

I couldn’t sleep. Because she couldn’t control her emotions.

A feeling of helplessness at not being able to do anything in the mission. And it was because of his anger and inferiority complex towards Lilith.

Cecil sat down on a rock and threw stones into the moonlit stream.

She grew up without any shortcomings, and the days when she was praised as an unparalleled genius were long gone, making her current situation even more bitter.

“… “Candy would hate a boy who flirts here and there without any discipline.”

She threw the pebble meaninglessly again.

“That’s right. I hate it. “It doesn’t go away easily.”

After ruminating on her feelings alone, her shift time came and she returned to camp.

In the meantime, Cecil discovered a human shape in front of a bonfire with only embers remaining.

It looked like a woman with long hair that reached down to her waist, sitting in a quiet place.

Cecile, who felt something strange for a moment, silenced her voice and approached her cautiously.

Moonlight hidden by clouds came down.

That figure was Luna.

She was sitting by the bedside of a sleeping man and looking down at his face.

Cecil felt as if she had seen something that she could not have seen for a moment.

Because at first glance, it looked like something that would only appear between friendly lovers.

Luna continued to look at her face in the same position. In some ways, it was a sad sight, and in other ways, it was a scary sight.

That man was Damien.

After thinking about it for a moment, I deliberately signaled Cecile and approached her Luna.

And Luna hurriedly turned her head as if she was surprised to hear her voice.

Just like that, their eyes met.

Luna looked embarrassed, as if she had been caught stealing. Damian is sleeping soundly. It was not an action agreed upon by the two, but was done unilaterally by one person.

Cecil opened her mouth first.

“What is your relationship with Damien?”

“….”

“I heard you have never interacted with men. “The only friend I know of is Damien.”

“….”

“And one more thing, there’s candy. “You two were partners during the circulatory system training.”

“That’s right. “They are both my friends.”

“Tell me. “You know, right?”

“…… What?”

“The identity of candy.”

unrelate to the chapter, but when will silvery be here again? holy f*ck, i read this novel because of her and now she is like an extra? she gone for like 60-70 chapters, meet again with our boy for around 10 chapters and now gone again? its nearly 50 chapters now since she left. this sucks.

atleast make damian exchange long letters with her once every 10 chapters. what i got is just short letters that is less than 4 pharagraph.

Remember how she told off Lilith at the academy ceremony? the roles have been reversed, now I’m not sure if she’s finally suspicious of Damien being Candy, but asking for his identity is unfair here
