Damn Academy chapter 220

220 - Four Swords

220 – Four Swords

Damian stretched out his arms and legs as if he was lying on his bed at home and stared blankly at the floating clouds. His blood flowed from the wounds all over his body, staining the ground red, but he showed no signs of pain.

“Professor, may I ask you a few questions?”

“Yes.”

“Why did you send a return letter to students? “We could have just made it a fair competition.”

“I’m sick of being obedient now.”

“… ?”

The old man smiled at Damian and added lightly.

“Well, to put it bluntly, it’s a matter of temperament. A person who obediently follows the words of his superiors cannot handle the magic sword. “If it’s that easy to swing, how easy would it be for the demon sword to devour its host?”

“….”

“You are an object in that sense. “Didn’t you listen to the orders of that fearsome archmage?”

“That’s….”

Damian, who thought of himself as being obedient, looked for something to retort for a moment, but then gave up and changed the subject.

“By the way, where did the magic sword hunter come from?”

“He was a northerner. The demon sword used him as a temporary host and traveled south in search of a new host.”

“The victims’ histories, if I’m not mistaken… “Is it true that you came to visit me?”

“If you felt that way, that’s probably it. I don’t know your past. “I’m already old, so I’m convinced now that they even abandoned a guy named Gale and used you as their host.”

“Why didn’t you choose Gail?”

“You must have seen the sword flying out of that guy’s hand. Even a guy named Gale can handle the power of that magic sword. Maybe I can handle it better than you. However, they were divided not by ability but by differences in personality.”

“Personality difference… “What?”

“Yes.”

“Do you know how the demon sword found me and came to visit me?”

The old man shook his head.

“The important thing is that the magic sword came down from higher than the North.”

“Are you talking about the land of the dead?”

“Okay. Have you ever heard of it?”

“… Yes.”

Damian looked back on his memories. He first heard the story of the Land of the Dead in the research text of Zverev, who created the recipe for the Gryphon Potion. Black pits that eat away at the souls of wizards.

The continent of death where nightmares unfold.

“It means that some unknown being beyond the land of the dead has recognized you. “It’s never a pleasant thing.”

When Damian heard those words, something seemed to have occurred to him, and he closed his eyes tightly and became lost in thought.

“I hope you gave me the sword as a favor.”

“Everything in the land of the dead. “All organisms, spirits, earth, air, and even clouds are all unfriendly to humans.”

“Can you give me the sword from there?”

The old man said, tapping his magic sword on his waist.

“Is there anything that can’t be done? This guy was also buried in the land of the dead. If you put in the effort, you can use that power to your advantage. “Aren’t they handling even more vicious swords?”

“….”

“It is said that Eternia will soon be dispatching elite troops to the Land of the Dead. “If you wait, there will be more news.”

Then, suddenly, a familiar female voice rang out.

“Candy!”

Cecil, who was thought to have left, was running urgently with her brown hair flying. The old man glanced at her and sighed.

“Wow, what a passionate kid. “Isn’t that so?”

“….”

As Cecil approached, the old man turned away and pretended not to notice.

Then Cecil ran up to the old man and struck him with her fists, inflicting meaningless violence on him.

“…… ?”

When the old man turned around with doubts, Cecile, who was startled, went to Damien, hugged his head, and said,

“Candy stops bothering me. “Now the professor from Eternia will arrive, so you’re done!”

The hug was so strong that half of Damian’s face was buried in Cecil’s chest.

Damian said, tapping Cecil on the shoulder with his finger.

“…I’m okay now.”

“What?”

“The magic hunter is dead.”

“… Uh?”

Cecil looked at Damian and the old man in turn and said.

“Really… hey? “I thought it was the same person because they were dressed the same, but it turned out to be a different person.”

“I can’t see ahead, just a little…” .”

“Oh, yes.”

Cecil hugged Damien’s head a little loosely. She then looked down at his face and she straightened his bangs.

“Why did you come back?”

“I’m worried about you. “Why are you asking the obvious?”

“….”

This was the first time since these two reunited in the guise of Candy wearing a mask since they were played during the prom. Because of that, a strange feeling of awkwardness remained, different from when we had accompanied each other in our original form.

“Ugh, the blood is flowing even through the mask….”

Cecil took out her handkerchief and wiped her mask. At the same time, she seemed a bit nervous and swallowed her saliva several times.

Then he looked at her slightly and said.

“Not… I’ll clean the inside too. “Would you like to stay still?”

“….”

Cecil was careful and prudent, just as she would treat her newborn baby.

“If you go… “I’ll take it off.”

She held her mask with one hand and unfastened it with the other.

Damian did not resist. Cecile’s face was as flushed as a child opening her birthday present.

When the mask fell slightly, Damian’s hair returned to its original color.

Cecile, who met Damian’s face like that, rubbed her forehead, nose, and cheeks with a handkerchief as if to check whether it was an illusion.

“Candy.”

“Yes.”

“It was right to cover your face because you were ugly.”

“….”

Cecil looked down at Damian’s face with an expression full of concern.

“You know what? “There was someone who was suspicious of all the boys in the first-year combat club and hoped that he was the only one who was candy.”

“Who is it?”

“It was Damien.”

“She said he was fine, why?”

“… Because I like people who have few friends. I like things simple. “It would be better if I was the only friend.”

Damian blinked his eyes weakly because he was tired.

“Friend, I can count you on one hand.”

“If you lie like this, I really want to kill you.”

“You have a lot of friends too.”

“I guess I have a lot of time because I don’t have any friends. Because we haven’t been able to play for a while… There’s an artist gathering at Rigbed in a few days. Um, would you like to go? “I have an invitation and can only bring one more person.”

“Yes.”

“For now, let’s leave our miscellaneous friends aside and play.”

Because Damian was tired, he accepted it without thinking.

“No problem… “As you wish.”

“Do you remember that?”

“What?”

“At the prom. We talked about what you need in return for taking off the mask. I am that, that, po….”

Beep!

Something suddenly cut off Cecil’s words.

Damian’s spirit, Piyak, rushed in, flapping its wings in a panic.

Beep naturally sat down on Damien’s face and looked up at Cecil.

Cecil was taken aback by the unexpected appearance.

“… ?”

Then suddenly, as if to intimidate her, Piyak shook off her wings.

Beep!

“It’s cute, but…” “I have something to talk with you about, so would you please move out of the way?”

Cecil held up the beeper with both her hands and sent it flying into the air.

Then he looked at Damian and continued speaking.

“In return for taking off the mask… uh?”

“….”

Cecil poked his cheek.

Damian closed his eyes with a peaceful face. She gently pinched Cecil’s side, but she did not respond. Damian fell asleep just like that.

Healers from Eternia treated Victor and Damian and transported them to Eternia.

I thought all the injured had been taken care of, but contrary to expectations, Gale did not leave but instead appeared in front of Callios. Gale said, giving him a northern salute.

“It is an honor to meet Swordmaster Kallios, the hero of the North.”

Kalis said while looking at Gale.

“Ah, it’s a shame the magic sword ended.”

Even though the situation ended differently than he wanted, he simply accepted it without much complaint. It was a manly yet extremely economical attitude.

“I will be satisfied with having seen the power of Lunatique, one of the four great magic swords.”

“You used a familiar artifact. Does it belong to someone I know?”

Gale nodded his head.

“It belongs to Senior Kaedwen.”

“You were the one who decided to take over. Suited. Keep working hard. “There are still many demon swords looking for future generations, so there is ample opportunity.”

“I will keep this in mind.”

Kalis grinned meaningfully and tapped the handle of his sword.

***

I had no memory since I met Cecil. I sometimes woke up in the middle of my sleep, but all I could remember was that I was lying in the carriage with my head resting on Cecil’s legs.

After Cecil put something in my mouth, I fell into a deep sleep again and had no memory of it.

And when I opened my eyes, it was early morning.

Before I knew it, I was lying on the bed in the Thorn Garden dormitory.

When I opened my eyes here, I could finally feel that my mission was over.

When I got up halfway to check my condition, something caught in my hand.

When I came in and checked, I found myself hugging someone else. Only then did I find Trisha sleeping with her head on the edge of the bed.

I’m so happy to see you after being away for a few days.

It seemed like she took care of me all night long. It’s amazing, but at the same time, I feel sorry.

Every time I was injured, she took care of me wholeheartedly.

I woke Trisha up by tapping her shoulder.

“Trisha.”

“Umm….”

“Trisha.”

“Ahhh.”

“The art department was first.”

“Hmm. Huh?”

Trisha’s eyes light up.

“Damian awake?”

“Yes.”

As soon as she came to her senses, she saw the clasped hands and was so shocked that she shook them off.

“What! “Why do you treat me like that?”

“… ?”

“This is outrageous!”

“Since when have you been like this?”

“I didn’t do it!”

“Not that… no. I had a hard time taking care of the sick. “I’ll make you whatever breakfast you like.”

“That’s it! “I’m going to eat on my own, so just lie down!”

Then he pushed my upper body with both arms and made me lie down.

“What… “Did anything special happen while I was asleep?”

I suddenly thought of Cecil and became anxious. It bothered me that Trisha had been deceiving Cecil all this time.

“Yes! “Oh, no!”

“What do you mean?”

“No… “Your Sprout Sword is a bit strange.”

“Sprout Sword?”

“Yes. This is my first time seeing a sword… They said something. I thought I was going to die because the noise was so annoying all night long! “I can’t touch it.”

“…What?”

“Over there!”

Trisha points with her finger at the swords lying around in front of her door.

“Ah.”

And when I saw that scene, my heart sank.

The wooden sword that had turned into a sapling wrapped around the new magic sword and was squeezing it like a boa constrictor.

I guess there will be a new chapter tomorrow? The author’s current chapter writing progress is 2 days/1 chapter, which is quite amazing for someone who disappeared not long ago… Although the current story progress is quite slow, I think 500 chapters is good.

  2. Jack Silver says:

Want more. It would be even more funny if the sapling turned into an elf woman… Maybe the elvish queen… Or her daughter. Her disappearance/kidnapping is the real reason why the elves closed their doors and look down on humans. Since it was a evil human a dark witch who was responsible. Sound fun?
