How to Survive at the Academy 77

Freshman Class Placement Test (1)

“Don’t come close.”

“What?”

“Don’t come too close to this radius.”

A day to supervise new students’ exams.

The winter break was slowly approaching the middle. He got used to a life where he couldn’t use his magical power to some extent, and the preparation of materials for the extension of the hut was nearing the end.

In fact, all the big things that need to be dealt with before the start of the next semester have been taken care of, so as long as the exam supervision is completed well, there will be no more problems.

It was the time when I gave my body a lot of energy and went to work at Claire’s assistant professor’s lab with the intention of getting rid of it quickly.

Among the bachelor’s scholarship students, I was the first to arrive, and only Anis, who was checking magic engineering supplies alone in the corner of the laboratory, came into view.

When I patted her on the shoulder and said hello, Anise jumped like a grasshopper and opened the distance to the window behind the professor’s seat beyond the main table in the lab.

Then he takes a deep breath and looks at me intently.

“suddenly? why?”

“Um… my, it stinks. I don’t like the smell of sweat. Don’t come any closer.”

It is a school that values appearance to the extent that the provision of maintaining dignity is written in the school rules. Cleanliness is strictly maintained. At least, it seems that he has never been pointed out for his dress or appearance.

I tried to smell the cuffs to see if it was because of vacation, but there is nothing wrong with it.

“It doesn’t smell.”

“And what about your eyes? Strength? Something the same doesn’t suit me. Anyway, please don’t come any closer.”

I was even more puzzled by the sudden and visibly vigilant appearance.

Since he’s a straight-headed guy, I thought there must be a reason, so I roughly shook my head.

Then he swept up the papers above to clear the messed up lab table.

It was because it seemed that the inside of the lab would be in turmoil if I didn’t make some basic arrangements before Claire’s arrival.

The fact that Annis, who was thorough in everything, didn’t do these basic things, was that he was so busy that he didn’t even care about that, so he was intent on helping out.

Most of the documents were discarded after the deadline for processing. After collecting these and other documents, and finally picking up the file folders scattered around the corner, the amount is quite heavy.

– Bang!

Before I could even properly capture the documents, the door to the lab opened and Claire, an assistant professor, came in proudly.

“Aww-!”

After a lively morning greeting with a more youthful appearance than the students, assistant professor Claire laid down the snack box on the table from the morning hours.

“Would you like some scones?”

Claire’s assistant professor laid out the snacks on the table and asked Anise to make some tea.

It’s Anise who has been checking tech supplies for testing for a while. As I swung my hand out, Anise flinched and handed me the papers she was checking. He is trying to deliver documents by spreading the distance as much as possible, holding one hand on his chest, and extending his other arm. Anyone who sees it would know that even a wild beast was in front of them.

I roughly accepted the documents. The work itself is already familiar, so there is no need to explain it. It’s just a simple inspection.

“Students of Clevius and Onyx are also here! All the test administration personnel have gathered, so I’ll clean up and go!”

With a snack in her mouth, Assistant Professor Claire, who quickly sat down on the professor’s seat, laid out the finalized test plan neatly on the table.

“The test site is on the right mountain, as previously announced. Since we have 4 management personnel, we can take a tour in the east, west, north, south, and east directions that 4 people had divided beforehand. If a safety accident has occurred or fraudulent behavior is discovered, you can report it to me immediately to the Jeonseo-gu, which paid for it in advance. As for the test management rules, you just have to judge whether there is cheating according to the documents you hand out… Well, how great and systematic infidelity can new students commit… You can’t look at them just because they’re cute juniors!”

With that said, Assistant Professor Claire began to mash the scones again.

I am full of energy today. It must have been because he had been on vacation for a few days after completing dozens of hours of hard work.

Originally, I was a person with such high tension, but after a few days of staying up all night, I became a corpse, so it seems that a person’s personality is periodically reset.

“And freshmen who must be careful! Lady Clarisse! It’s not someone you can meet easily, so I’ll brief you on what to wear in advance. Long silver hair that goes down to her waist, red eyes, and a red bow hairpin on the side hair. If you ever run into it, you’ll be as polite as possible, okay?”

Basically, Sylvania is a place where the value of learning is more important than the noble of status.

To some extent, class differences tend to narrow under the name of classmate.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that there are no insane commoners who magnify the nobility, but at least you can’t expect to be treated as graciously as in the mainland.

However, even in such an unwritten rule, there is a clear limit line.

A person who has a level of status that goes beyond that line, even if he is a junior, must be treated with courtesy.

Of course, there was no easy way for such a noble class to enter the school, so I felt very vague that this line of unwritten law was…

If you are a princess or a saint, you have to take the example of a servant unless you are an elder professor even within a bachelor’s degree.

So, it is a precautionary measure to avoid making any mistakes.

In fact, it’s even more difficult to tell the difference. Saint Clarisse in front of the public looked more like a saint than anyone else. …but unfortunately she’s fake.

It is a fact that is not revealed now, but the real Saint Clarisse is supposed to be replaced by another student. The girl who attends school as Clarisse is a double-faced girl with all kinds of physical disguise and counterfeit magic.

The real saint is a student named Kylie Ekne, who is assigned to 1st grade Class C. Of course, it’s a pseudonym.

She is an innocent-looking girl with brown hair who changes her appearance to enter Sylvania and lives under the guise of a regular student.

He even wears a fake identity because he came from a noble in a small country whose name is unknown in an island country on the eastern part of the continent.

It’s a fact that only comes to light right before the final chapter of Act 3, but this is another shocking reversal, so I was quite surprised when I first saw it too. In fact, I’m not even that great of a person, but I should have been suspicious from the moment I entered the Ophelis Hall as a free pass.

The only people who knew about this were the Principal Obel, the 3rd dean, the maid of the Ophelis Hall, and the top figures in the Telos Church.

Even the guards escorting the band are so complete that they do not even notice the camouflage. You don’t know how long you’ve been preparing for it.

Even so, I would applaud the saint’s desire to enter Sylvania and gain an opportunity to learn, but it would be difficult to graduate as peacefully as she wanted.

Clarisse, the saint of disbelief, is in charge of finishing the final chapter of Act 3, ‘Lucy Subjugation,’ where all the giants come together to attack.

Without her, Taylor would not be able to learn the ‘Sacred Sword’, the swordsmanship that will be used to slay the evil god Mebular, the final boss of Act 4.

Since you are a very important person, I just hope that you are doing well.

“Anyway, all situations other than these are written in the manual, so you can respond appropriately at that time, and if you want to ask about details, send Jeon Seo-gu! Because I’ll always be waiting at the top of the right mountain! So is it now?”

Assistant Professor Claire glanced at the time and nodded.

“Then go up the mountain on the right, install all the welcome magic items, finish checking the altar, and wait for the students to come along! Come on, let’s eat all the snacks and leave!”

The results are known.

All freshman class placement tests are rejected.

In fact, there is no such thing as failure, it is a relative evaluation anyway. None of them were able to get into Class A, but to some extent, they are distributed according to grades.

It is not a story that the protagonist’s generation directly experiences, so it is only briefly mentioned in this scenario.

Claire’s assistant professor failed to adjust the difficulty level of the class assignment test, so there was no class A among the first year students…

As a result, the number of students in Class B who want to be upgraded to Class A by getting good grades during the semester will increase.

It is the ‘joint combat practice’ episode where the competitive spirit of first-year students in order to win the first class A title explodes.

This time, the main character’s generation will have a joint combat practice with the first-year generation in the position of seniority… Despite the emphasis on the friendly game aspect, the first-year students are serious and combative.

This is because the grades that are given differentially in the joint combat practice class have a large weight in reassignment to the later class.

So, the first-year students assigned to the battle class with the second-year students try to win by all means and methods, regardless of whether they are seniors or anything. Not only that, but outside of class for extra points, they apply for duels at random, but they’re all blocked by the Taylor Sun.

In fact, it is just an event to confirm the growth of Taylor, who has been strong enough for one year.

It is also an episode where the feeling of looking at a junior from a senior’s point of view is very emotional.

Nevertheless, it is an episode that cannot be easily overlooked… It is in this episode that Saint Clarisse, who was hiding from the crowd, takes notice of Taylor.

“Ugh, whoops.”

right side of the mountain.

Claire, who was leading the way, was at the front, followed by Anise. And after that, Onyx-senpai followed, followed by me and Clevius.

Assistant Professor Claire was climbing up with a bunch of grading papers, while the rest of the students followed, hugging a bunch of welcome tech supplies.

In principle, it is forbidden to transfer magical equipment that is sensitive to magic by using telekinetic magic. In fact, unless it is a perfectly precise product, no major abnormalities occur, but it is usually moved by hand just in case.

No matter how gentle a mountain is, carrying a load of this size will overwhelm you.

All the male members of the bachelor’s scholarship students were still following along with a lot of luggage, but Anise was panting as if she had reached her limit.

“Hey, if it’s hard, give me some. You keep pushing back.”

Each of the large semi-disc-shaped tech equipment is quite heavy. If you climb up with a lot of stuff like this, even men will be out of breath. Although it was a much smaller amount, I thought that it would be unreasonable for an anise of a dwarf body to ride a mountain carrying such a burden.

Anise, who keeps going up ahead, is slowing down little by little, so it’s all going backwards.

I passed the onyx-senpai sweating profusely, followed him next to Anise, grabbed some of the tech gadgets Anise was holding, and put it on my side.

“Uh-uh, thank you. Mr Onyx. It’s still too heavy… Whoa!”

Anise turned her head to say thank you, but when she saw my face, she was startled and stepped back. I almost stumbled, but I barely managed to balance, and then I suddenly dropped some magic equipment.

– That’s right, Tang!

Clevius grabbed the magic equipment from below, which was rolling down the floor and going down the road. Anyway, he’s the chief of the combat department.

“Aren’t you supposed to be careful?! What if it breaks down…!”

Saying that, Clavius hurriedly threw a couple of tech supplies he had picked up onto the bundle he was holding. Anyway, I don’t think he’s going to get any of his power anywhere.

“I’m sorry, Ed, I didn’t know you were going to catch up.”

It was so hard that even his ears were completely red and he was breathing hard. I skimmed the anise up and down, and then made a stern impression.

Anyone could see that Anise was overdoing it. After a few days, I get a feeling, Anise Halan is strangely passionate about everything.

It’s not that I don’t understand the psychology. If you live in a corner, you are afraid that you will fall behind even if you are a little indolent.

I, too, fell into that kind of mentality and suffered from overwork while overworked.

When I think about it that way, Anise’s current appearance doesn’t seem like a very common story, so I feel like I want to break that stubbornness.

Rest is also part of work. If you don’t know that natural fact, it’s hard to run long no matter what you do.

“You take a break and come back. I will be doing the installation work first.”

“What, what?”

“Isn’t everyone complaining?”

After talking like that, I glanced at the two who came up behind me. Onyx-senpai and Clevius also roughly nodded their heads.

Anise was carrying around a dozen or so tech supplies. I took them one by one and threw one towards Clevius and the other towards Onyx-senpai. The two took it casually and placed it in their arms. After checking it, I put one on my arms.

After repeating the distribution one by one, Anise had nothing in her hand.

“Come on, wait…! Why didn’t you ask…!”

“I told you to rest.”

I told Anise so straight. My stamina doesn’t support me anyway, but if I force it, it becomes a burden.

He grabbed the magic tools, pulled out one hand, pulled Anise’s shoulder, and pressed it to a nearby rock.

Anise, who looked up at me with a puzzled face, was holding her breath.

“When you have a break, take a break. You are the only loss.”

Having said that, I shook my head once and signaled the others.

In fact, even calling it a mountain is an intimidating level. Go up for a few more minutes and you’ll be at the top in no time.

*

“I’ll sprinkle some magic stones, the two of you will install the magic equipment in a suitable location. They say they will arrive after lunch, so I have quite a bit of time to spare.”

Assistant Professor Claire said so and smiled.

“Everyone has suffered. After completing the installation work and confirming the section in charge, we can proceed with the supervisory work. The operation itself is not difficult, so it will take less than 30 minutes to complete the installation in the pre-planned place.”

Clevius took a deep breath and put down his magic equipment. It was the same with me and Onyx.

The number of magic equipment itself was considerably reduced. This is because they came up with a few pre-installed checkpoints on the way up.

“Huh… The low-level illusionary items weigh this much… If it’s higher than this, you’ll feel like you’re carrying a boulder at all.”

Onyx-senpai sighed deeply and sat down on a nearby rock, wiping her sweat. Clevius was probably not as hard as he thought it would be, so he drank some water and drank some water and then shook his head.

He has that level of stamina and his swordsmanship is top-notch, but he is a very strange person from the outside because he gets scared when it comes to actual combat.

Considering the history of his life as a failure of the Nortondale family, the greatest swordsman on the continent, it makes him nodded, but that’s the story that Taylor will unravel.

I took a break for a while and saw the view from the top of the right mountain.

A magnificent altar stands right above the open plain. The huge tombstone is full of unknown characters. It is so huge that I think we should call it a pillar rather than a tombstone.

The tip of the tombstone that stretches out to the sky is cut off.

This is the ‘Altar of Alteration’, the stage for the final battle of Act 3.

Close your eyes and reminisce about that time.

sky full of dark clouds. An archmage called a rare genius is looking up at the clouds.

The apostles of Telos, who had eagle heads, flapped their huge wings and covered the sky.

God announces the end of this Aken Island, and the wizard who wants to kill the apostle of the god and the party who tries to stop the wizard face each other in front of the altar.

With the glowing pillars behind her, a girl wearing a large witch hat rebuilt her voice softly.

i don’t believe in god

“Hey! what are you doing there what! you!”

All of a sudden, Onyx-senpai shouted and woke up.

“What is it, Onyx-senpai?”

“Ah, no… I think someone was just at the top of the altar… Hmm… Did I get it wrong…”

Who would be able to climb on a pillar of such a huge size that was left on the top of this right mountain?

Still, I looked around just in case, but I couldn’t see any shadows of any kind.

“Uh huh… it must have been so hard to come up here. I just see all the fuss.”

Onyx-senpai tilted his head and let out a sigh.

“Let’s install the magic equipment and finish the test. Once this is done, there will be nothing more to do until the end of the vacation.”

It takes a lot of effort for the last job.

Groaning like that, we got up from our seats.

In order to welcome the new students on time, they had to move quickly.

“…hey.”

Slowly, the Onyx senior, who had gathered a few to install the magic equipment, suddenly turned his head upright.

“I think some of these are broken… aren’t they…?”

Maybe the actual reason was only revealed after the battle. Ed just made a recap of the scenario so he knows what is going but maybe Taylor’s party hadn’t and thought Lucy is the one doing bad things.

  2. JS Lee says:

Mc is always the good guy, and it’s always said that Lucy is a boss not a villain

  3. Friedfroggyfrag says:

Wait so, Lucy became a boss in the game bc she opposed and tried to kill an Apostle of god that was talking ab destroying the island, and Taylee’s party opposed her. Idk the full situation but doesn’t this feel like Lucy’s the good guy in this scenario??
