I Became a Blind Swordsman at the Academy chapter 206

206. Touhou, Ishai (1)

It is said that Murka, the right hand of the commander of the corps, died and there was an uproar in the land of demons.

The gist was that a guy the size of Murka was killed by an unknown human, and that the human was revived a few days later by Heneris’ miracle.

Of course, Keraf had no choice but to recite information about me, and he said that he is now targeting ‘one who has returned from paradise’ as his top priority.

However, considering that he killed Murka, he is not an ordinary person and is still in the information gathering stage.

One strange thing is that the corps commander is not taking any other action despite the death of the person he cherished.

Since the loss of Murka isn’t the kind of guy who’ll shut himself up in his room and cry, we had to assume he had other plans.

Assuming from Heneris’ warning, he might be preparing for the revival of the demon king’s alter ego, the great demons.

Anyway, the blind man covering his eyes with a white bandage has become a person of interest to both demons and assassins, so it is better to act cautiously so as not to be noticed, or rather to be noticed and protected by those around you. It was Keraf’s conclusion.

I also told you to pay attention to Keraf, who has become a double agent.

Finally, he spit out the worries he had been swallowing.

‘I’ve been thinking a lot about whether I should tell you or not… I think it’s better if I tell you. Jeto-nim, you may not believe it, but…’

Keraph informed me of Lucia’s strange behavior.

When Eisel was kidnapped earlier, it was Lucia that Keraf found. Apparently he gave her letter to Lucia, and she gave it to her Yuri.

Fixing the torn seal on the letter with wind magic, and even copying his handwriting at once.

Even I thought it would have been better to call her Lucia, and Keraf also came to her idea and tried to call her.

However, due to Lucia’s actions, Yuri appeared instead of Lucia.

I couldn’t believe it.

From what I’ve heard, it sounds like Lucia deliberately twisted the situation.

Keraf also knew well what kind of image Lucia usually had, so she was hesitant.

I don’t fully trust him, so he seems to have been worried that if he said something useless, his credibility might decrease.

So he tried to inform me only after personally investigating Lucia a little more, but I was worried that this also seemed to hide the truth from me.

I said I would trust him.

To be precise, he said he would believe in Lucia’s strange behavior.

Looking back, trying to deliver the letter to Lucia was an acceptable action under the assumption that Keraf was quick-witted, and even if it was true, he caused discord between Lucia and me with hard-to-believe lies, and he had nothing to gain. Because it seemed

The important thing now is why Lucia acted like that.

“Look there! They must be from the East!”

Lucia, who could hardly sit still, shouted, pointing out the window.

A clear voice as always.

It was a pure smile that didn’t feel suspicious at all.

In the game, there was a scene where Lucia graduated from the academy normally, whether it was a happy ending or a bad ending.

Until now, I haven’t been able to find out why Lucia acted like that. Even if she didn’t act like that in the first place, she was strange enough normally, so she couldn’t even get a sense of her.

Then, in response to Lucia’s voice, Yuri, who was sitting across from me, stretched her body and looked out the window, as if her body was stiff.

“Oh, that’s true. Have you finally arrived in the East?”

Among the rapidly passing landscapes, a group of tall men dressed in oriental style stood facing a herd of bison on the side of the road.

“What are they shouting at the cows? Are they the people who manage the cows? Jetto, can you hear what they are saying?”

Curious Yuri asked me, slightly opening the slit in the window.

“However, how do you hear the sound over there on a train that runs at such a high speed? The feeling is not universal…”

Amon frowned and I, who had been listening to the window, opened my mouth.

“…I can hear it vaguely.”

“I thought it was omnipotent?”

Kaen tilted her head and glanced at Amon apprehensively.

“So, what do you say?”

“Um…”

As a result of the scattering of spirits, a tall man with arms crossed protruding forward from the group shouted, ‘We are Green Forest, please stop the train and give up everything you have!’ He was shouting something like that.

“Looks like a group of eastern bandits called Green Forest. They probably tried to rob the train.”

“…But looking at the cows?”

“I must have been beaten by Edward.”

At Yuri’s question, Eisel answered in my place in a sullen voice.

[ Puhyeop, it doesn’t look like the green forest is the same as it used to be. After being subjugated like that, should I be amazed at what still survives? ]

Sierra, who was hugging me, sighs and smiles.

Then ‘Stop it! Why doesn’t the train stop!’ An embarrassing cry is heard, and the herd of green forests facing the bison collide with the rush of the bison and are thrown off and roll on the ground.

“But you didn’t tell me to deal with them this time?”

Seeing this, Crank asked a question.

True to his words, when he encountered a group of bandits on the way to the desert, he had deliberately stopped the carriage and told them to subdue the bandits.

“This time, it’s a break and a trip to broaden my knowledge. It’s different from a normal field trip.”

Orfel, who was leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes, said as if he could rest in peace.

In the north, the ice that sealed the lich, which can be said to be a family achievement, was shattered, and in the desert, Orpheel became a ‘human watering can’ and a ‘human shower’, so his reaction is understandable.

“Anyway, it looks like we’re in the east now!”

Three days on the transcontinental train.

We finally arrived in the East.

“Is this your first time in the East?”

I quietly whispered to Eisel, who was staring blankly out the window.

“…Yes.”

“I hope you have a good time.”

“Thanks, Jeto.”

For Eisel, it was the future and the East that he had never experienced before.

She died before leaving unconditionally for the East. How she had pictured her getting on the train bound for her east when she was playing the game.

This journey meant a lot to her and to me.

“By the way, did I mention that the place we are going to is ‘Ishai’?”

“Yes, it is the closest country to the West and the first to accept Western culture.”

“Oh, Miss Yuri. You know quite a bit, don’t you?”

“Hey, this is basic common sense.”

“Zetto has been to Ishai, hasn’t he?”

Eisel asked me, lightly ignoring Yuri who was showing off his knowledge.

“Yes, I remember going there. Even though I was a kid.”

Yuri opened her eyes wide at my answer, and then muttered in a small voice, ‘I didn’t tell you about that…’.

Eisel looked at the glass and smiled faintly.

Eisel’s emotions written on the relationship chart that he glanced at were ‘happiness, joy’. Something like that was written

I wonder if it’s true that such a change appears with just one thing or another, but I’m a little used to it now because the two of them exchanged feelings about each other nonstop.

I wonder if Kaen, which consistently has the word ‘excitement’ written on it, is bothering me.

“Uh, anyway, I heard Yishai doesn’t ostracize Westerners at all.”

“Is there any country that rejects us…?”

“Yes. It would be more accurate to say closed rather than excluded. There is a group that hates magic, so those who deal with magic should pay special attention.”

Edward, who happened to be passing through the hallway, answered Lucia’s question.

“You hate magic…?”

“The East is more familiar with martial arts than magic. They handle and polish mana in a different way from us. In the East, mana…”

Edward, who had finished his explanation, tapped me on the shoulder.

“…It’s called internal energy.”

“That’s great. If you guys don’t know anything, feel free to ask Cadet Jeto. Then I’m done. I don’t want to be a bad instructor interrupting the rest of the cadets.”

Isn’t it because it’s just annoying to answer questions?

Edward, who shook his hand after letting go of such a sinister smile, left, and immediately afterward, questions from the cadets, who had many questions about the East, poured in.

Fortunately, the questions were limited to what I knew, so I was able to answer them without hesitation.

“Then where is Zeto’s birthplace? What country is it? Ishai?”

“Mmm… Hometown.”

Actually, it was Lucia’s question that was difficult to answer since it was my first time going to the East.

“It was so young… I can’t remember where it was.”

Because I remember answering Priscilla’s question before, saying I don’t know where I’m from, my somewhat ambiguous answer continued.

Eisel scribbled something in her small notebook.

I didn’t expect to see it at all, it was the angle at which the content was visible from my field of view.

[ When did this guy investigate me… ]

Sierra muttered as she tilted her head openly looking at her notebook, curious about the contents.

‘List…?’

Seemed like a bucket list of sorts.

Precisely, the sentences presumed to be what I wanted to do were written.

Sneak peeking at the notebook wasn’t a bad thing, but it didn’t look bad since he remembered these details.

‘Go to Zeto’s hometown together.’

Right under that sentence, she was scribbling her writing.

‘Zeto’s teacher is Jawol Sierra. Then, wouldn’t Wolguk, known as Sierra’s hometown, be his hometown…’

That was a good reasoning.

To the extent that he would have answered like that if he had marked Sierra as his mentor from the beginning.

Wolguk.

The only country in the past that had a record of unifying the East. I don’t know what happened after that, but now it’s a very weak country… Sometimes, rare talent like ‘Sierra’ appears.

Since I know that I am planning to stop by Wolguk on this journey, it seemed fine in the sense of visiting Sierra’s hometown, although it is not my hometown. You will be able to meet her acquaintances and her family as well.

[ hehehe… It’s Wolguk… ]

Well, Sierra didn’t seem too reluctant, but I guess we’ll have to listen to what she has to say.

Just when the baptism of questions seems to have calmed down a bit, an announcement is made on the train.

ㅡAfter a while, the transcontinental train arrives in Ishai. For the safety of passengers before the stop…

Following the announcement, the cadets inside the train began to hum.

“Finally…!”

“The train is inconvenient. It’s cramped.”

“What are you going to do when you go to Ishai?”

In this way, the first-year students of Innocence Academy arrive in Ishai.

***

After arriving in Yishai, we headed to the lodging we had reserved in advance, and afterwards we had ‘free time’.

The instructors judged that the place was also the capital of Ishai, and it was safe in many ways, so there was no need for group action.

“I’m a mix of men and women?”

“There is such an advanced culture in the East…?!”

Amon and Crank, who were passing through the corridor after unpacking, looked at each other after reading a notice.

The inn had a hot spring for both men and women.

“…What do you guys think?”

“Jetto…You don’t know. The greatness of this oriental culture…”

“Yes. You don’t know.”

“This is an opportunity!”

“Yes, this is your chance!”

“”The female cadets…””

Then, Amon and Crank talk about a stupid conversation, and then they come together and say that, and at the end, their thoughts diverge.

“You can see the body…”

“You can examine your muscles…”

“…What are you talking about, crank.”

“Amon is what…”

Look at each other as if they don’t understand each other.

“Of course it’s an opportunity to look at the female students’ muscles and point them out. I can see them with my own two eyes and tell them where they are lacking!”

“No, of course, this is a great opportunity to appreciate the bodies of female students that are not usually revealed…!”

The two of us who disagreed so much looked at me and Orphel.

“What do you think of Jeto and Orpheel?”

“I’d like to hear your opinion.”

“Either way I don’t think it’s a conversation topic I can come up with.”

“”Orphell?””

At their urging, Orphel’s tightly closed mouth opened.

“…I don’t like hot water very much. As long as it’s washing, I can wash anywhere, anytime…”

“Haa, come to think of it, you Orfel had water droplets…”

“Water droplet? What is it?”

“There’s such a thing. That guy… When you’re tired of walking to the bathroom, he summons a giant drop of water to wash off there.”

“It’s convenient…But there’s no romance. Mixed bathing isn’t something you’ll ever come across easily…”

“Ah, I agree.”

I have work to do right away, so I decided to put off the hot springs for a while.

After leaving Amon and Crank to discuss heatedly, we moved on.

“Oh, Mr. Jetto!”

Soon, Lucia found me on the other side of the hallway and called me. She saw Eisel, Yuri, and Kaen behind her.

“It’s free time now. What are you going to do, Mr. Jeto? We’re going to see the city from now on…!”

At Lucia’s question, the eyes of everyone around her turned to me.

“I’m sorry, but I have something else to do.”

I wanted to take a leisurely tour of the city and go on an outing with them, but… But there was something I had to do, a ‘quest’.

The princess of Ishai is currently eroded by a considerable amount of demonic energy.

‘I wonder if his condition got worse because he came to the east lately.’

It needs a huge amount of divine power, but it can be solved by calling a saint, but the relationship between Seongguk and Ishai is not very good, so we are in a situation where we can’t do either.

Originally, it was a very cumbersome and complex quest that required special medicine to be obtained, but thanks to the bizarre prosthetic arm that ‘absorbs demonic energy’, it seemed to be much easier to solve now.

What she did wasn’t too suspicious technically. The mimicking of penmanship is good, but could be a talent. The magic she used was just to seal a letter, nothing too fancy. The only “bad” thing was she gave the letter to Yuri. Which doesn’t harm him. I’m concerned on how much you trust your friends irl, if you even have one, when the first thing that comes in your mind is investigation.

Stupid MC should use Sierra to spy on Lucia. I hate how supposed smart MC suddenly become dumb like this. Sierra can move independently like when she first met the saint.
