Episode 0 – I Won’t Enroll in the Academy –

This world is not based on an Academy theme.

It was not my destiny to become a student of the Academy.

“Abraxas… do you know how dangerous it is?”

I am not originally from this world.

This world is the universe of the game World Fantasy Saga (WFS) that I used to enjoy playing in South Korea.

In that WFS universe, I was reincarnated as the second son of the Mentuhotep family.

“Are you going straight to the dangerous magic zone as soon as you reach adulthood? And that too, with an untrained body?”

I had to do it.

This world is on the brink of destruction. Even if we do not consider absolute destruction, a disaster will occur in which 70% of the population will vanish.

“You might think you’re the best right now, but the world is vast. There are many people who are better than you.”

My father doesn’t know that I am a reincarnation. Therefore, he doesn’t know how safe the magic zone I’m heading towards is. He doesn’t know how strong I can become due to the opportunities I might find there.

He worries because he doesn’t know that even my lack of training is part of the plan.

“Enroll in the Jeilip Academy. If you graduate from there, I will not object to you going to the magic zone. If you are to challenge dangerous places alone, you should be equipped with at least that much ability.”

And in the WFS game, the Academy doesn’t appear.

An Academy that may or may not exist. I have to go there involuntarily.

“This is an order from the head of the family.”

I tried to argue, but my father was more stringent than I had imagined.

And that’s how my enrollment in the Academy was confirmed.

“Number 113, applicant of Abraxas Mentuhotep, come in.”

While waiting outside the interview room with several students, I heard my name called.

“Applicant of Abraxas, is there anything you want to share regarding your motivation to apply to Jeilip Academy?”

Upon entering the interview room, a secretary taking notes, a professor asking questions, and an unknown old man were sitting in a line.

While most of the applicants would have different thoughts as this was the decision-making stage for final acceptance to the Academy.

I had a completely different idea.

This world is not based on the Academy theme. That’s why enemies, opportunities, strength all exist outside of the Academy.

Nothing will happen immediately. Even if I stay in the Academy, no problem will occur.

However, if I do something else during the four years wasted at the Academy, I might be able to prevent the disaster in advance.

That’s why I wanted to fail the entrance exam.

But my father anticipated such a move and made a contract with me.

He told me to achieve proper grades in the Academy. Being bound by the contract, it’s impossible for me to get expelled for low grades.

If my abilities fall short, I might get eliminated but that’s not the case which is more problematic.

“What I want to say is already decided. Do you by any chance know the philosophical term, Occam’s razor?”

However, to change the fate of this world, I need to get away from the Academy.

If I want to save the world, I need to break away from the Academy.

That’s why my words are decided.

“Occam’s razor?”

The professor who was in charge reacted to my counter question. The pen of the secretary, who was noting the conversation, moved briskly.

The anonymous old man sitting next to the professor kept looking at me.

Without paying attention, the explanation continued.

“The philosophical term ‘Occam’s Razor’ means that the simplest proposition is the best if it can convey the same meaning.”

“It’s good to be concise if it implies the same meaning. It’s a very good point. So, according to the philosophical term ‘Occam’s Razor’, can I express my ambition concisely?”

“Of course.”

He gave me the right to speak concisely about entering the academy. And I faithfully repaid him for giving me such an opportunity.

“What I want to tell the interviewers of this academy is……”

“F*** you.”

After summarizing my argument in the simplest sentence according to the rule of Occam’s Razor, I got out of my seat as if running away.

I snapped at the professor to drop out of the academy.

I thought it was a perfect plan, even by my own standards.

“Let that son of a b**** pass. I’ll mess with him myself.”

“Understood, Principal.”

The next day, a notice of acceptance from the academy arrived for me.
