I Became The Academy Necromancer chapter 146

146. Festival Date (1)

146. Festival Date (1)

A period nearing the end of summer.

Students were busy moving through the cool wind that blew as if they were rewarding the students for their hard work under the scorching sunlight.

Today is a summer festival that happens once a year. Students put down their pens, professors put down their textbooks, and for today, take a breather and enjoy the day leisurely.

‘Originally, I would have taken Arya to various places.’

Of course, when there is an event like this in the game, various bonus stats, skills, or items are scattered instead of just skipping over it.

It was like a kind of festival for the users as well.

‘I don’t think it’s necessary.’

Aria is no longer a hero.

There was no need to take her here and there mechanically, like her strategy plan.

She’s just that kid, she wants to enjoy what she wants to enjoy.

That said, I have nothing to receive on behalf of you. In the first place, as a professor, most of the things I can’t get, and even if I did get them, they’re useless.

In the end, this festival just flows by. I mean it’s time to get some rest.

Is it because of that?

Away from the clamor outside for a while, I closed my eyes alone in the cold air of the laboratory.

Around me, there is no noisy Fideneye, nor the Dark Spirit, who strangely gets smaller in front of me, nor Owen, nor Illuania.

Since everyone went out to enjoy the festival, I was taking a break by myself.

It wasn’t quiet.

The voice coming through the window was quite lively. But the time in which I could be completely alone in this way was invaluable.

In my previous life, I couldn’t drive out demons, so I was constantly plagued by them.

Because I have been much busier in my current life than before.

Yeah, just a short break.

This was enough.

Kikiiik.

But then the door to the lab opens and I cautiously step inside.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Eleanor Luden Griffin staring at me with her big eyes wide open.

I knew it was Eleanor. There was a sense of formality from her steps, and she was also the only one with the courage to enter my lab without knocking.

“Deius.”

“I must have told you to call me professor.”

I usually call me well, but if I call me by my first name every once in a while, I get a penalty point.

While saying that he was sorry for making him cry every time. I wondered if someone so smart had less learning.

Today was different.

Eleanor whispered while laughing.

“Now I am not a student, but a princess.”

“… ….”

I wondered what it meant, but the answer came straight into the lab. Her face is covered with a grotesque mask sold at a festival, but a kind of aura that flows softly from her body already reveals her true identity.

A dignified yet dignified step, and the dignity he possessed were things that ordinary nobles could not have.

As soon as he took off his mask, King Orpheus appeared with his blond hair falling off.

“hahahaha! Long time no see Deus!”

He exaggeratedly stretched out his hand and made a fuss about him, thinking he would surprise him.

Seeing His Majesty the King, I slowly got up and bowed my head. I don’t like excessive courtesy, so I reduced it to a minimum.

“Meet Your Majesty.”

“…… You’re not having fun.”

Disappointed Orpheus. However, I didn’t react much, and the Archmage, Rock Pelican, came along and said hello.

“All the busy work related to the Meias has been sorted out. Just in time, there was a festival at my sister’s academy, so I secretly came.”

“I will call the dean.”

I wondered if I should serve him properly, but Orpheus shook his head.

“No, that’s all right. I don’t want to spoil the festive atmosphere because of me. Isn’t it a place where students are the main characters?”

“Thanks for your consideration.”

As expected, Orpheus.

It was a small consideration because he knew that the one-day festival would draw attention to himself, not to the students, when he knew that the king himself had made a surprise visit.

“Well, Rock Pelican and I will enjoy ourselves. Rather than that…….”

Orpheus sighs and clears his throat as he secretly looks at Eleanor.

“Doesn’t a festival like this attract men who are more interested in women?”

“I guess so.”

I’m sure you’ll get the courage to take on the heat of the festival and take a more daring approach to another student you care about.

“Keuheum, isn’t it possible that there are people with dark hearts who are targeting our Eleanor? Because Eleanor is good-looking, and she is also royalty.”

“What do you want to say?”

Eleanor argues with a puzzled look on her face. Orpheus clears his throat and pretends not to hear her.

“So, will you protect our Eleanor? You don’t have to be together all day, a morning is enough.”

Eleanor, finally realizing Orpheus’ intentions, sparing her words, let out a faint exclamation.

He quickly judged with his extraordinary mind that it would be better to remain silent now.

I was caught in the brother and sister’s cunning tricks, so I answer calmly.

“Princess Eleanor, do you intend to enjoy the festival as a princess?”

“…… Ah, um.”

“If you do, I will comply. But it will also take a lot of restrictions.”

If it wasn’t Eleanor the student, but Eleanor the princess, the way I treat her would inevitably be different.

I don’t want that again, Eleanor hesitated.

“Uh huh, wouldn’t it be fine if you were together and treated me like a student?”

“That is impossible. Just being with me as a professor can spread bad rumors about Princess Eleanor.”

If you’re acting as a princess, of course you can stick around as an escort.

But if you’re working from a student’s point of view, I don’t need to stick with you. Strange rumors will only grow.

And this was my least resistance.

“Just do it.”

“… ….”

“It’s the king’s name.”

Since there is nothing to say, the king uses the special moves of the royal family. I looked at Orpheus for a moment and then lowered my head.

“I will serve you.”

* * *

“I’m sorry.”

“It doesn’t matter. And feel free to speak. I am now escorting you, the princess.”

In the end, the situation went according to the will of King Orpheus. I wasn’t so stupid that I didn’t know what the ulterior motive was in letting Eleanor and me go together.

Even so, I couldn’t act as intended. First of all, because I have a fiancee.

I answered while excluding personal feelings as much as possible, but instead, Eleanor smiled.

“That, is it? Deus!”

“Yes, Princess.”

“hehehe! I like calling you by my first name as well. If you call me professor, it overlaps with Aria and it feels like there is a wall.”

I don’t know about that, but anyway, if you like Princess Eleanor, that’s good.

“So, where do you want to go?”

“Umm, but if possible, it would be nice to be somewhere out of sight, right?”

After thinking about it for a while, Eleanor grabs my hand while saying that she remembered a good place.

It was so momentary that I was a little taken aback, but Eleanor started running as it was, knowing what was so urgent.

At first I felt like I was being dragged around by a tomboyish princess. She knew that she was being quite courageous, judging by the redness of her ears behind her.

She pretended not to notice.

Eleanor brought me to the rooftop of her academy. A place where there are no people, it is secluded, and a cool breeze blows.

“Wait a minute.”

Her face flushed red, Eleanor turned her body around and went out of the roof again, and soon after she returned with the canvas and the fan.

“… ….”

Since she already had a criminal record, her brow immediately frowned, but Eleanor was in a hurry, so she shouted.

“Oh no! I’m not going to draw anything weird! I just wanted to draw Deius right in front of me! It seems like a good opportunity…….”

As she spoke, her voice shrank as if she had lost confidence in herself.

“Can’t I?”

I replied with a light sigh as I saw Eleanor looking up at her stealthily.

“Do I need to position myself?”

“No! No! Just be comfortable!”

It brightens right away, takes out her pen, and puts the white beret she brought over her head.

When she said that she didn’t have to pose, she just sat on her bench on her rooftop and stared at her.

‘He looks pretty good.’

The eyes of Eleanor glancing at me were quite serious.

I wondered if she was ruined for no reason because she drew strange pictures, but seeing her serious expression puts my mind at ease.

It didn’t take long.

Eleanor scribbled hard for about 30 minutes, then she smiled brightly and held out the drawing.

She draws pretty well.

I remember that I drew people quite well when I saw them before, but now they are so good that you can go to Claren, the city of artists, and you won’t be disappointed.

She was a girl with talent in many fields, so she grew up quickly when she fell in love with painting.

“Excellent.”

“Hee hee, right?”

Eleanor said she was in a good mood and sat next to me. Then she suddenly turns her head around her poof and looks at me and asks.

“Deius, is this place real?”

Looks full of anticipation.

If it was normal, I would have ignored it.

Yes, just for today.

“Isn’t there the magical girl I mentioned before?”

“Oh! Oh oh! Huh! Huh!”

In addition to the fact that I replied, Eleanor responded with her eyes wide open when I told her about magical girls.

The appearance is so naive, I put strength into the corners of my mouth that almost made me smile and continue talking.

“It comes from a kind of animation. It’s a form of drawing multiple pictures and making them look like they’re moving.”

“Ah! Like the kids scribbling on the corner of a book?”

Eleanor pretends and understands. She nods and says yes.

“There is also a job called a voice actor who gives voice to it.”

“Voice actor?”

“It is to act while speaking as if I became a magical girl.”

“Oh! Voice actor! Voice actor! Do you want to try something too?”

She seems shy to dress up as a magical girl, so I wondered if she would like this, but Eleanor stamped her feet and liked it.

I thought you did a good job telling me, but suddenly Eleanor was looking at me.

“Oops, this isn’t it.”

Covering her mouth, Eleanor laughs briskly and says playfully.

“What are you talking about? Of course it is real!”

“…… Did you want to do that?”

The lines she used to tell me that she herself noticed that it wasn’t a dream.

She wondered if there was a reason she wanted to do it again, but Eleanor answered as if she was a bit shy.

“Because it is the only experience in my life where I felt that it was destiny. I wanted to do it again and again.”

Then she carefully placed her hand on top of hers, Eleanor.

“Princess… ….”

Even if she said that earlier because she was on the move, it doesn’t work now.

When I call her to draw her line, Eleanor cuts her off firmly.

“This is my order, as a member of the royal family, Deus.”

There was quite a bit of power in the voice itself. It was a serious and high-handed attitude, but it was so straight that it seemed like it would break easily.

“Please stay like this for a moment.”

“…… As you wish.”

Eleanor’s hand, which gently held my hand, was slightly trembling. She doesn’t look like the girl who just laughed and chatted.

“You know, Deius. I mean. I love dreaming after that day.”

“I’m glad.”

It was a bit of an out-of-the-box confession, but it wasn’t a bad thing.

She said that the fact that she used to be afraid of falling asleep, and that she liked falling asleep, was good news for her.

“In fact, there are times when I have nightmares, and there are times when I dream of creepy or frightening situations.”

“… ….”

“To be a little more honest, there are more cases like that. I guess I haven’t been able to get out of the various traumas yet.”

The emotion I felt from her slightly trembling hands was definitely fear.

I remember when I entered her dream in the royal family, her mother, Hiran Luden Griffin, appeared as a grotesque figure.

Of course, it was only because the griffin’s demon took over her body.

For Eleanor, for whatever reason, her mother will remain feared inside.

“Do you still like to dream?”

I ask her cautiously, and Eleanor’s head gently rests on her shoulder.

“Yeah, that’s fine.”

Gently closing her eyes, she pours her dreamy emotions out of her mouth as if she were dreaming.

“Because I can see you.”

“… ….”

“No matter what nightmares, no matter what monsters chase me. You always come and save me Dayus…… No, Shinwoo Kim.”

Eleanor lightly rubbed her face on my shoulder as if she were childish. She smiles with her eyes still closed and bows her head.

“I want to see you again. I want to see you, Shinwoo Kim, not Deius.”

“… ….”

“That’s why I like to dream. Because i can see you Because I can see you again.”

And then, Eleanor continued to speak.

“I guess that’s why I drew you that way. After waking up, it’s goodbye after all. Because I am so sorry.”

Eleanor holding onto me as if pleading.

She knows very well how she feels for me. But even so, if she asked if I could accept it, that wasn’t the case.

“I can’t take your heart.”

A resolute refusal.

I was the one who thought that even if she hurt her, she had to let go of her feelings.

“Whoops.”

Eleanor smiled as she kneaded her forehead and placed her hand on my shoulder.

My body instantly froze at the leisurely reaction I never imagined.

Slowly opening her eyes, Eleanor was looking up at me with her transparent golden eyes.

“Did I tell you? She always meets you in her dreams and separates from you when she wakes up.”

“… ….”

“I see you every day and lose you every day.”

Eleanor Luden Griffin.

In her game, a fallen princess who dreamed of a rebellion, saying that she would kill her own brother, the Wise King Orpheus, and ascend the throne herself.

“I lost you today too.”

I was getting used to her changed naive look, so I missed it.

“I will try harder tomorrow.”

What a strong girl she was.

  1. huehue huehue says:

Eleanor using the royalty card HAHA even the King is supportive 🤣

  2. Huh I just realized the kings name is Orpheus. In Greek mythology, I think he went to get his wife back from Tartarus but the one rule was to not look back while he was doing it… and he looked back and failed. It’s kinda neat.
