I’m the Main Villain but the Heroines Are Obsessed With Me chapter 69

69 - 31. Third Secret (2).

69-31. Third Secret (2).

Ian’s eyes widened at Belphagor’s appearance.

What the hell is the author doing here?

“I thought it was Elysion who knew the truth when they mentioned meeting someone who knows the truth.”

Of course, Belphagor might know some facts. He might have promised to help Ian even from the demons’ side if we look into his past memories.

When he saw the situations turning back so far, the person who promised support must have been referring to Belphagor.

“How dependable could an unreliable guy like him be?”

If the demons don’t have a significant influence, they wouldn’t speak that way.

That wasn’t the end of the evidence.

Unlike other demons who constantly targeted Ian, Belphegor was not merely observing the situation.

No matter how much I think about it, the person Elysion mentioned must be Belphegor.

“Yeah. The one who promised support. That’s exactly what I thought.”

However, Ian didn’t even expect that he would be someone who knows all the truth.

That was the reason.

“Are you someone who knows all the truth?”

“Yes.”

The question was asked again to be sure.

In response to Ian’s unexpected question, Belphegor only had a pitiful expression.

“I hoped not. You’ve definitely erased all the memories.”

“Erased them. What are you talking about since earlier…”

“I understand your curiosity. Even I would like to tell everything. But there isn’t enough time to talk about that.”

From the meaning of erasing memories and answering Ian’s questions about what he wants to know. There wasn’t enough time to reveal every fact.

It would be a waste to spend precious time on a story that is difficult to understand without additional explanation.

He had an unavoidable duty to reveal the hidden secrets.

“I know it’s troubling. But try to understand. It’s an inevitable task for your sake. I’ll answer any other questions if you have them.”

“Then, why don’t you walk the same path as the other demons?”

“The reason for not walking the same path.”

Belphegor’s eyebrows raised at the sudden question.

Well, I wonder why he’s saying something like this. Other people would first ask why I became a vessel.

But Ian thought differently.

‘Why me in a situation where possession has already occurred? Same words hold no meaning. Finding out information about enemies is important right now.’

There was no use worrying about the past. He knew that the situation wouldn’t improve.

Even though he couldn’t change the past three seconds, couldn’t he change the future?

“My goal is to safely kill the Archfiend and obtain a happy ending. I’m not interested in anything else.”

For a bright future, information about the enemies was a priority.

What are the remaining demons thinking? Why doesn’t Belphegor aim for the position of the Archfiend despite having such power?

“Hmm. This is an unexpected question. Well, you were always like that, someone who thinks incomprehensibly.”

“Didn’t you say you don’t have time? It’s better to cut the small talk.”

“Don’t be so dismissive. I have the luxury of answering your questions.”

Bellfegor, who was lost in thought about his memories, asked with a slight smile.

“First of all, let me say this. Unlike other demon lords, I have no desire to attack you. I’m purely on your side, and I hope you understand that.”

“Then why do you show different behavior? Is it because you’re not interested in the world?”

A demon lord who spends his time idly in his realm without showing any interest in the world.

That was Bellfegor.

So then, is the reason for doing nothing just a sign of laziness and disinterest in worldly affairs, like a typical demon lord?

These were the questions Ian was trying to organize.

“It’s simple. It’s to prevent the death of “Mashin”.”

“What?”

The moment Ian was preparing to ask a question, his mouth froze.

Did he hear it wrong?

‘What is he talking about?’

To prevent the death of Mashin? What does that even mean?

If that’s the case, then Bellfegor is no different from other demon lords?

As Ian looked confused, Bellfegor closed his eyes as if thinking for a moment.

It was a moment when about five seconds had passed.

“Well… Did I explain too briefly? Well, since you’ve erased your memory, it’s not surprising that you don’t know. Before I explain it, I want to make it clear that “Mashin” should never disappear.”

The moment they realized the secret they had never known before.

***

Bellfegor’s words that “Mashin” must exist were not easily understood.

It was natural, considering that the reason he had been running tirelessly so far was not to defeat “Mashin”.

“But if “Mashin” is a presence that must not disappear…”

What has he been doing until now?

What was the quest given at the time of possession? Which one of Bellfegor and the quest was lying?

Understanding such worries, Bellfegor nodded his head as if he understood and lifted his magic wand.

“Why are you suddenly using magic?”

“Don’t be so surprised. It’s not for attacking.”

Just as Bellfegor said, the scattered magic only changed the space.

Like the grandmasters in the legend created their own territory using mana, Velfegor also dominated space using magic.

“If you see something like that, you could say that power itself is on par with magic.”

And even now, Velfegor’s not in a state of restraint by intervening in the middle world. Even with shackles, if he has this kind of power, what will it be like in his home base, Astelgia?

“Wow!”

Even while marveling, the magicians had already created a landscape.

The created landscape was the universe.

A vast expanse of black space, with the planet Gaia, the stage of the Hieronic Academy, at its center.

“Barrier?”

“Yes. It’s a protective barrier to protect Gaia from external enemies.”

“External enemies?”

“The universe outside of Gaia is truly vast. It’s so vast that you can’t know where it ends. Of course, there are also living beings.”

In fact, it was really a long time ago when the outer living beings were discovered.

At that time, Velfegor didn’t pay much attention to them.

Why?

“Most of them are not very important.”

There were only inferior beings compared to humans. Plainly speaking, they were no different from bugs or stars.

But over time, he couldn’t help but let his guard down.

“There are a few, but there are also those who could be called gods.”

The outer gods, discovered as they looked out over the universe. The moment they found those so-called outer gods.

“Monsters? Then what about those protective barriers.”

“They were created to protect Gaia from the outer gods. The outside barrier was created by Mashing. The inside one was created by Eris. In reality, it’s more of a deception than a protection.”

“A deception…”

Ian’s eyes looking at the landscape created by him sparkled fiercely.

Even those who could be considered the strongest in the Hieronic Academy, the ruler of Astelgia, Mashing, and the goddess of peace, Eris, were afraid to the extent of creating a protective barrier to shield Gaia. The outer gods must have been beings with power beyond imagination.

“If even Mashing is using his power to protect Gaia, then it’s understandable why Velfegor is trying to prevent his death.”

If Mashing were to disappear, protecting Gaia would solely be Eris’s responsibility.

However, that doesn’t solve all the questions.

There were still a lot of things unresolved.

“Do you have any questions?”

“I’d like to know why. Can I ask?”

“Go ahead and ask. We still have plenty of time.”

“I know that the Holy Sword Elysion was created by Eris to kill the Demon King. But if they were allies, why would they need a weapon to kill each other?”

Even just considering Eris and the Demon King, it was a dangerous situation if one of them were to go missing.

It was difficult for Ian to understand why they would create such a weapon.

“Also, the prophecy given about the Hero Parties indicates that Eris has given the command to kill the Demon King.”

Why would Eris want to kill a perfectly healthy Demon King?

It was important for Ian to find out, and Belpegor seemed to understand the seriousness of the situation as well.

“As you said, the Holy Sword was indeed created to take the life of the Demon King. It was made to prevent sudden actions.”

“But if the current Demon King is not opposing Eris…”

“However, the Demon King mentioned in the prophecy Eris gave refers to someone else.”

“Someone else?”

“Goddess of Peace, Eris can use her power to predict the future. She has used her power countless times to protect Gaia.”

So far, there were no problems that could be called a crisis.

Of course, wars between humans and demons occurred frequently, but they were only wars caused by demon kings, so the Demon Kings were not concerned.

He thought there wouldn’t be any problems in the future either.

However, there were not only rational beings in the world, as Eris thought.

“But recently, prophecy has been strange. Her words were that the future was ruined.”

“Are there beings causing chaos?”

“They are pride and rage. You may be familiar with the names Lucifer and Satan.”

It wasn’t comparable to the power of the Demon King or Belpegor, but the moment came when the powerful demon kings became a problem.

“Rage and pride didn’t like the current balance between Eris and Demon Kings. The discontent grew and eventually became extreme. They thought, even if it was only slightly less than the Demon Kings, that they could take their place if they became a Demon King themselves.”

Once they become a Demon King, they can use the power that corresponds to their position.

At worst, the current Demon King is expected to become feeble and pass on his position to a new Demon King soon.

It was the perfect opportunity for rage and pride, who were waiting for their chance.

“What… are they trying to do?”

“What you’re thinking. Yes. One of them, or both, climbed up to the position of Demon King, and then faced off against the Outer Gods.”

Tired of being persecuted by reality, they decided to stop dividing the world between Eris and themselves.

They tried to make the Outer Gods their own, surpassing domination over Gaia.

“Their plans flowed into Eris’s ears, and she once again read the future. The future she saw in that moment was…”

“…”

“It was only destruction.”

They might have thought it was possible. It may seem like a foolish and arrogant judgment.

If we consider Lucifer and Satan’s circumstances, it wouldn’t be an absurd idea.

The gods of the Outer Realm.

They sounded extraordinary, but weren’t they individuals who had never actually fought each other?

As the saying goes, you can only tell by experiencing it. I thought Lucifer and Satan were a fight worth trying.

“Even in the state of being a Marquis, they were slightly inferior to Marsean. If they became Martians themselves, they would surely be enough to fight against the gods of the Outer Realm.”

After making up their minds, they killed Marsean and Eris victoriously and ruled over Gaia. But the ending wasn’t good.

“They couldn’t protect Gaia from the attack of the Outer Gods.”

As soon as the barrier that protected them from the eyes of the predators was lifted, their fangs flashed.

The outer gods who had dominated the unknown lands of the universe tore apart the newly turned Martians.

It was the moment they realized that only destruction would remain if they continued like this.

“Well then, the entity that must be killed according to the prophecy is…”

“The present Martian. It refers to Lucifer and Satan, not Azidahaka.”

“Were those two the culprits behind everything?”

Belphagor nodded his head calmly, while Ian couldn’t hide his surprise.

Well, he had received too much information all at once.

From Noble mtl dot com

If he was given time to organize it, it wouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, Belphagor didn’t have the luxury to offer him that.

His mouth opened after taking a brief pause.

“After confirming the future, Eris immediately appointed a hero. That would be your younger brother, Ariel Volkov.”

“I know that. I heard he awakened as a hero around the age of six.”

“Fortunately, we found someone who showed potential as a hero. However, the situation was still not good because the hero was too weak.”

“Weak?”

“Perhaps due to the unfortunate childhood, he couldn’t make friends with his party members and suffered from severe depression, making him mentally weak.”

A hero’s party. In the mortal world, it was often described as the hero doing everything and the party members shining as his entourage, but that was far from the truth.

The party members were essential existences to compensate for the hero’s weaknesses.

Every breath and harmony with them was truly important, and they needed to establish an intimate relationship where they could rely on each other on the battlefield.

Ariel couldn’t do it.

Because the hero who should lead the party at the forefront could not trust people due to his weak will.

At that moment, Eris and Masin had no choice but to find a new way.

“We’ve experienced countless failures. Of course, every time, we used divine power to turn back time…”

“But it must have reached a point where we can no longer endure. If we consume too much, it will become difficult to maintain the barrier.”

“That’s right. There have been so many debates, we should have found a solution to this situation.”

What could be the way to deal with Lucifer and Satan? They pondered endlessly, and there were many opinions.

And as time went by, they narrowed down to one.

“Eris and Masin decided to find an assistant who can help the hero.”

It is now impractical to recruit a new hero, as time and divine power are insufficient. Finding an assistant is the best option for now.

“I heard that Ariel, who was the illegitimate daughter of the Volkanov family at the time, had a sibling. Of course, he died before being born.”

“Before birth? What does that even mean?”

“I thought then, if we could create someone who could empathize with her difficult and lonely childhood. She wanted happiness and believed Ariel, who used it as a means of power, could become even stronger.”

“What?”

Died before birth? Illegitimate? What on earth does that mean?

According to Velpyorg’s words, wasn’t the existence named Ian supposed to never exist in the first place?

“…What does this even mean?”

Although he looked at him with eyes demanding an explanation, Velpyorg continued to deliver what he had to say.

“Eris adjusted the world to save that child. Of course, the soul had long since left the dead body… but it didn’t matter. It’s just a soul.”

It was the moment when Velpyorg, acting in place of Masin and Eris who had excessively consumed divine power, came into motion.

He sought beings from another dimension capable of sympathizing with the current situation and lending them strength.

Finally, he succeeded in saving one soul.

Thanks to that.

“No way… it can’t be.”

“Yes, it is, Jeon Ian. I’m talking about you.”

The reason why Jean Ian Volkanov, who should not exist in the world as he was, could be alive.

“Jean was supposed to die originally, and Heroic Academy was created by Velpyorg to bring back my soul?”

Though a great secret has been revealed, it didn’t solve all the doubts.

If they really wanted a good soul, they would have brought other important figures. Why couldn’t they understand that it was themselves?

In order to uncover these hidden details, Jean lifted his head and could see.

*”Trembling!”*

“Is the space breaking?”

“It seems like time is almost up…”

It refers to the distorted space and the scattering magi at a rapid pace.

Restrictions on Belphegor’s intervention in the middle realm are intensifying.

“Unfortunately, it seems I can’t reveal any more of the remaining truth.”

It was truly regrettable, but on the other hand, Belphegor thought he was fortunate.

At least this one fact could be conveyed.

“Anyway, remember this one thing, you were created for Ariel’s sake.”

Belphegor took a moment to catch his breath before speaking.

“I’ve repeated countless sacrifices for Ariel’s sake.”

  1. If they can change the world and reverse time.
Why don’t they just make MC the hero Instead of making him hero babysitter?

    1. Kyuubi1996 says:

Probably has to do with the Goddess Eris making this a Yuri game. Her kink is lesbian love to do that the hero needs love in early childhood to express themselves. Also, Ariel rarely suffered anything in her childhood except her parents arguing in the previous regression. Hero tends to need adversity to grow stronger Ariel shies away from all that and only wants love as a way to grow stronger. Ariel is a fixture and her personality cannot be changed to work harder and abandon her happiness. Frankly, Ariel is too selfish not even God can change that hence they need an outside actor to work behind the scenes.
