I'm the Main Villain but the Heroines Are Obsessed With Me 72

72 – 32. Sealed Devil Sword (2)

The place where the item to break the seal of Levrian appeared was a dungeon at the border between Edenria and the Empire.

Thanks to the Leviathan incident, the vacation was extended. Ian immediately boarded a carriage to head to Edenria.

At first, he thought about searching for Ariel’s traces. However, he considered breaking the seal of Levrian to be a lower priority.

“I know how powerful Levrian is. I can’t give up on that.”

If we believe Velfegor’s words, Satan and Lucifer won’t stay quiet either.

Isn’t it a situation where the demons, who were leisurely, would have anxious feelings and gradually start making moves to execute the plan?

“We always have to be prepared for the worst-case scenario.”

If we obtain Levrian that can rival the Holy Sword Elysion, it will be a satisfactory preparation.

If not, when the curse removal is still about 5% away, we’ll go to find Ariel. Honestly, it’s not a bad choice.

But that’s not the case. In a situation where only about 5% remains until the removal of the curse, this was the best option.

“That’s why.”

Reasoning quickly and packing his belongings, he headed straight to Edenria.

Of course, he wasn’t alone.

“Didn’t you tell me it’s outdoor training for me? Why are we riding a carriage instead of leaving the training ground as it is? Ian?”

“If you train outside, isn’t that outdoor training? Don’t worry about it since there’s a place to go.”

“Again, what is he up to? I don’t know anymore.”

Igor, seated in the carriage, leaned against the backrest as if resigned.

Igor was the companion Ian chose this time.

“To be honest, there are plenty of people to take along, like Eri and Ria. If Reyna or Bianca want to join, I’d gladly accompany them.”

However, Ian insisted on taking Igor. There was a reason for that, of course.

“It’s not just anywhere; it’s an emergency situation in Arc where demons have appeared…. Bringing Eri is understandable.”

Despite hiding her identity, she was undeniably holding the position of a princess.

Already busy with the affairs of the royal family, it seemed appropriate to show consideration for someone who had a keen sense.

“Ria said she’s going out with a friend after a long time, and taking Reyna or Bianca is a bit awkward.”

Although they had become close, suggesting to tackle dungeons together just the two of them felt a bit distant.

Since they had successfully killed the Leviathan, the need to impress and build favor had also decreased a bit….

“This time, Igor is the right choice. After all, it’s a dungeon conquest from the beginning.”

There was no need for deep thinking. As the goal was dungeon conquest, it was best to bring the most suitable person for that.

In that regard, Igor was an excellent choice.

“The dungeon we’re going to this time is inside the abandoned sheep house near the border between Edenria and the Empire.”

Inside the dungeon established in the abandoned building, powerful monsters would be abundant, and constant battles would unfold without a break.

“I don’t get tired easily, perhaps due to my training, but the best thing is that Igor doesn’t get scared.”

Looking at the overwhelming military forces, most humans would be frightened and unable to perform well. But Igor did not belong to that group.

It was not a lie that he was from a warrior race. If anything, he was the type who would never be scared, unlike the average person.

“On the contrary, it’s probably closer to the opposite. Igor might even want to face a demon lord without fear.”

The optimal choice is certain. Ian was convinced. That was the reason.

“Hmm… Ian. You didn’t come to this place for outdoor training, did you?”

“Why not? It’s charming.”

Being able to bring Igor to the dungeon without any worries.

In response to Ian’s laughter, Igor’s neck turned with a creak.

I couldn’t understand what this guy was talking about.

“Heh. Did the meaning of charm change for me? In our town, we used to describe such places as dog-like, you know.”

At first, I had expectations for outdoor training. Vichen was a closed city like a minority nation, and people there rarely went outside unless it was a special case.

Igor was the same. It was partly because of the training, but he had never traveled to another town in his life.

Coming to Hwango was his first time, all for admission to Ark.

“…I had expectations. But this is something else.”

Volkonov Territory wasn’t bad. Even if it was cold, it was new experiences. But this seemed a bit overboard.

“Isn’t this a ruin?”

What Ian brought was nothing but a ruin. Stuck in the mountains, surrounded by overgrown trees, and the walls covered with vines.

Broken windows and decorations covered in rust… Is he really suggesting training here?

“The Edenria I imagined wasn’t like this!”

“What did you imagine to say that? Where else is there like this? It’s spacious and nice, isn’t it?”

“What’s good about it! I had high expectations because it’s a sacred theocracy!”

Having never been to Edenria, I harbored considerable expectations.

A city of saints who believe in God. I wonder how it looks?

The atmosphere was clearly bright and peaceful, filled with buildings, and I thought there would be kind smiles from benevolent people.

But Ian thoroughly crushed Igor’s expectations.

“Isn’t this just a ruin instead of a holy land? Did we come all the way here in a carriage for this?”

Although it was considerably large for a place with no sanctity, at first glance, one might mistake it for Astelgia instead of a holy land.

Igor remained resolute, unable to suppress his frustration. Ian only smiled kindly and looked on.

“He must be really angry….”

Actually, when I think about it, it’s understandable. After living in isolation and finally being able to travel to various places, how exciting would it be?

He must have wanted to travel a lot, as he had eagerly sought freedom.

“He was even happy when he came to the uninteresting Volkhanov.”

If it had been the holy land of Edenria, he would have had even higher expectations.

Since Edenria was no different than the holy land of the Elysian Church, they didn’t often permit outsiders to enter.

He had come to a place that wasn’t easily accessible, but it wasn’t a bustling city with lots to see. Instead, it was a ruin.

Even if a fist were to be thrown, there would be nothing to say.

“But still, I couldn’t help it. It was something Igor needed.”

I felt sorry for him. Even though he wasn’t very perceptive, he had a sense of honor, so of course I had prepared a gift for him.

Looking at the resolute Igor, Ian smirked and lightly tapped his shoulder.

What, are you trying to fight? That’s what Igor seemed to be thinking when it happened…

“If we solve this place, we can enjoy traveling freely.”

“What? Are you trying to say something that doesn’t make any sense again?”

“I’m not joking. This time, I received permission from Edenria to go anywhere they want to call it a gift. If we solve this dungeon quickly. We can play and eat in the city for the remaining time.”

“Is it really?”

“Even if I may have exaggerated, you do know I’ve never lied, right?”

“That’s true.”

In that moment, Igor’s eyes sparkled.

It was true that he had often been deceived. However, at least Ian was not someone to speak with a forked tongue.

The issue lay in the fact that the words spoken were those of a person who kept his promises, even if the situation flowed slightly differently from what he had thought.

This time, the circumstances weren’t much different. Igor had a duty to fulfill.

“Well then, let’s conquer quickly!”

Igor, fueled by anger, briskly approached the mansion.

Once this was over, wouldn’t the dreamt-of journey come to him? Igor couldn’t resist that opportunity.

“How long I’ve waited for this.”

Memories of seeing the priests of Elysian Church who had come to convert him in his younger days were vivid in his mind.

At the same time, he harbored a dream.

“The chance to meet the nuns has finally come!”

He had dreamt of meeting someone with a kind and open heart, unlike the filthy warlike tribes, and now that the opportunity to realize that dream was at hand, he couldn’t let it slip away.

“Come on, Ian! We need to conquer quickly, don’t we?”

“I’m on my way. Aren’t you being a bit too impatient?”

“I’ve always been like this. Impatient, that is.”

Igor, with a smile spreading on his face as if to say, ‘When haven’t I been like this?’ trudged towards the entrance of the mansion, trampling the tall grass that grew up to his waist.

“Hoo.”

Igor, who held his breath, forcefully pushed open the stiff door and, at the same time, could see.

“Hmm… What on earth could lead a house to end up like this? It might be better off sleeping rough.”

“It doesn’t look normal on the outside either… I bet the inside is the same.”

A scene of devastation and a nauseating smell filled the vibrating interior.

The grim atmosphere momentarily made the body shrink, but as long as there was an unwavering determination, there was no need to fear.

“Let’s go then. We need to quickly deal with this and take our vacation!”

Igor, with a firm resolve, was about to move when suddenly.

Thud!

“Huh?”

The moment he stepped forward, he felt something being stepped on.

‘Is this paper?’

What was stepped on by his foot was paper. He thought it was debris, but why were these scattered all over the floor?

Curious, Ian stopped Igor and looked at the paper.

At the same time, he could understand.

[Guidelines for safety during nighttime patrol of the mansion. The contents below must never be leaked to the outside, and the Florian family takes no responsibility for accidents resulting from ignoring or violating these items.]

‘The dungeon’s theme is random, so I wondered what it could be. Did it turn out to be this? Definitely… a dungeon focused on horror debuffs?’

It was the moment they learned the identity of this dungeon.

    Thanks for the chapter.
Wow, so the Holy City I was incredibly excited to read about is a bunch of ruins. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
