Love Letter From The Future chapter 177

3. Dragon's Eye, Human Mind (41)

3. Dragon’s Eye, Human Mind (41)

A few shivering students stood in front of me.

Their eyes as they looked at me were all wet with fear. My image reflected in the retina looked eerie.

Hair and uniforms wet with the blood of demon beasts, and golden eyes that burned the fighting spirit like embers.

He even had a bloody hatchet in his hand. It was the face of an infallible killer.

Even if I was misunderstood, I had nothing to say.

And the man who reached out to me with a single blow also helped to intimidate them. I wondered if this would be the position of the group’s action leader.

He yelled at me and went to dreamland with a single blow of an axe.

Of course, I had no intention of punishing them in earnest.

To be honest, I didn’t have the desire to do that at all, but things just weren’t feasible at the moment.

First of all, the biggest thing was that there was no time right now.

He was in the middle of chasing after the princess. With the need to find the princess as quickly as possible even for a minute or a second, there was no time to correct their mistakes one by one.

Also, although it was embarrassing, they were the ones who didn’t do any harm to Leto that would leave aftereffects.

I decided to show my generosity and pass the punishment on to the life crisis that I had suffered until the very end.

For the first time in my life, I must have faced death.

It would be a lie if I said it wasn’t scary and difficult. Water was still forming around their eyes.

This meant that he was already exhausted, both physically and mentally.

Then there was no need to waste time and inflict violence. It was enough to threaten to never touch me again.

However, they seemed to be afraid of my presence alone, without me threatening them.

Among the weeping party, one woman opened her mouth. It was a stuttering plea.

Her legs trembled as if they would collapse at any moment.

“My, please help me… … .”

What the hell are you thinking of me?

I swallowed a laugh in dejected heart.

The only person I’ve ever killed was Mr. Guilford. Since even he was a demon, it was safe to say that he had never killed an innocent human.

Other than that, at least how many limbs were blown off?

To be honest, it was a bit harsh. Because I wasn’t sane at the time.

Still, it was thanks to the self-restraint that remained, and the cut surface was clean. I had heard that the rehabilitation was going smoothly.

I felt absurd for a moment, but I soon calmed down.

Yes, I could have misunderstood.

For now, it might be better to exploit that misunderstanding. My hatchet flew right through the sky.

“Ugh, kyaagh!”

A shrill scream hit my eardrums. However, to put that fear to shame, the ax just shut herself up next to the woman.

The hatchet stuck in the ground could not overcome the force and trembled.

The fear in the group’s eyes deepened even more.

Avoiding the danger of dying, the danger of dying again, it was hopeless.

Of course, I had no intention of killing them, let alone having an in-depth physical conversation. But I deliberately let their fears stand.

The only thing I was interested in was the whereabouts of the princess.

My expression became serious. The voice that came out of his mouth fell down in an instant.

“… … Where is Her Highness, the Princess?”

Hee-ik at my bleak question, one of the party sighed. He stuttered and questioned me.

“Even, what the hell are you going to do with Her Highness… … .”

Pak, and the hatchet, which had been stuck in the ground, returned to my hand again.

It was the technique of Jeong Jung-dong (靜中動) that he always used. The principle of the universe, which suddenly broke the trajectory it had already traveled on, broke the trajectory of the hatchet at will.

Although I was only able to break the trajectory once, as I had not mastered it yet.

However, even that was enough to subdue the man’s short courage.

I spit out only two letters.

“… … answer.”

The man drenched in fear at that one word recited an answer with tears streaming down his face.

“Ah, you went ahead! The escort knights are slicing down the beasts, so you must have arrived at the academy already!”

Only then did I show a satisfied smile.

Apparently, my advice to reinforce the escort knights seemed to have worked.

I, who tried to take care of them a few times in return for touching Leto one last time, decided to let it go in recognition of the contribution I provided.

As I was about to leave, I suddenly saw the scars of the trembling party.

Most of them were shallow wounds, but there seemed to be some serious ones. As an academy student, he could survive if he stopped the bleeding and applied first aid, but there was a risk of sequelae.

I hesitated for a moment at the look on my face.

They were guys who crossed the line anyway. If I had to worry, it was only my loss.

It didn’t suit my temper to destroy anyone I touched.

But that was for a while, and in the end I clicked my tongue and opened the potion bag. It was the last bottle of healing potion.

With a bang, the healing potion was thrown onto the ground.

A rumbling sound rang through the still air. Once again, the group’s eyes widened.

“Don’t regret it later, only use it for serious injuries. If you have aftereffects, you will be the first to be expelled from the next semester.”

My steps, which were about to leave with those words, stopped.

It was because he remembered what he had to say to them.

Right before kicking off the ground, I firmly commanded those who were still staring blankly at me.

“And you guys, apologize properly to Leto… If not, you know?”

I wasn’t expecting an answer.

If I had to do this, I would have understood, and as I stepped forward, the space narrowed at once.

Like an awl, the landscape was torn in colored straight lines around the front. It was then that the sound echoing from behind reached my ears at first glance.

“… … Yes, four!”

It was the group’s answer.

That voice wasn’t just filled with fear.

It was a cry that even turned a bit of a color. Hearing that, I sighed.

I got that healing potion from Delphine-senpai.

I guess I should get a few more bottles next time.

**

The chaos in the city spread straight to the academy.

It wasn’t because the news arrived. It was because the academy was also attacked by demons.

The main power was in the state of participating in the procession of the homecoming ceremony.

Inside the academy, there was no choice but to be in a hurry to respond to the Witchbeast. The grounds of the academy were wide and open, and on the other hand, there were many monsters disguised as stray cats.

Even more so, from the sky, even crows were dropping cat beasts. It was very difficult to track down the cat beasts that infiltrated like that.

It was best for non-combatants remaining in the academy to evacuate inside the building.

The remaining fighters in the academy for various reasons, including the professor, were blocking the monsters, focusing on the buildings where the non-combatants took refuge.

The troops who stood guard at the academy were tracking the monsters that had spread throughout the premises. It was to lead the confused students to the building that served as the base.

It was hard to find a precedent even in the long history of the academy.

Even Aedalus, the great conqueror of the empire, did not send troops inside the academy. But now, within the academy, hundreds of monsters were rampaging.

Even raids that mobilized such large-scale monsters could not be found in recent times, even if it was not in the academy.

The last record of an attack by a beast of this size was during the Shinma War.

Some of the academy’s professors felt a vague uneasiness about it. However, right now, it was also urgent to block the magic beasts that were rushing at them.

Even if you worry later, it is not too late.

In the middle of that battlefield, I stood.

Some of the Witchbeasts that ran amok in the academy’s grounds attacked me. Even so, it was only at the level of being able to clean up after swinging the sword a couple of times.

Although the number of monsters was large, the hierarchy was not high.

Even if you hit it well, it was an intermediate level magician. It was just an object that happened occasionally, and most of them were low-level monsters that even freshmen in the academy could handle if they wanted to.

But even that constituted a tangible danger when the number reached several hundred.

No matter how low-level a beast was, it was bound to be a threat to non-combatants and the wounded. That was the reason why so many guards were running around right now.

I didn’t know that they would raid the academy, so my head became complicated.

What about Emma?

That was the face that immediately came to mind. I heard that Emma has been going back and forth between the studio, the dormitory, and the temple for a while.

From what I’ve heard, it seemed that Lady Lupesia and her party were injured because she thought it was her fault.

Even though I had said several times that I had sins, I couldn’t break Emma’s stubbornness. she said with a light smile.

“I don’t want to blame Ian. Because I am not your burden.”

Recalling her warm voice, my steps headed toward the temple as if possessed.

At this moment, neither the letter nor the princess came to mind. The only thought was to ensure Emma’s safety.

I had to save Emma, save Emma.

I swore to protect you from getting hurt again.

I made that promise from the moment I saw her lying on the hospital bed with a pale face because I didn’t properly tell her the contents of the letter.

I didn’t want to see the weeping herbalist again.

I didn’t want to see her with a pale complexion, and keeping silent while hugging.

My sprint, which started out of nowhere, continued endlessly.

First is the dormitory.

“Emma? I haven’t come in yet… uh, what should I do?”

Next is the workshop.

“Emma’s studio is empty now. You mean you weren’t even in the dorm?”

More and more my heart tightened. I felt like I was going to go crazy with nervousness.

My running gait got faster and faster. My breathing became rough, and there were even demon attacks, but I ignored them all.

The last place left was the temple.

I prayed to the heavenly god in my heart.

Please, please let Emma be there. Please don’t be late.

Did that prayer reach you?

finally showed up

Emma had already rolled on the ground and her clothes were dirty with dirt. Even the torn marks were visible. Even so, she opened her arms and stopped the two demon beasts.

Behind him was a woman with golden hair. Impressive with her voluptuous body, she was just sitting there trembling.

Who is it, Lady Lupesia?

I wasn’t even interested. All I could see were the two demonic cats attacking Emma.

in stopped time.

The drawn hatchet began its rapid march. Rather, it was a high-speed rush that would be more appropriate to say that the light was shot.

The ax blade turned and drew a trajectory like a disk.

Suddenly, the cat’s head was severed as it floated in the air.

The Witchbeast didn’t know what had happened until the last moment. It was like that until the head of the monster that flew in succession beside him was severed.

A fountain of blood gushed out like an explosion.

The eyes of the cat masters, who were quietly looking for an opportunity, turned to me.

But it was already too late.

Without slowing down at all, I kicked the cat beast’s jawbone.

With the sound of bones snapping, the beast’s head lifted up nicely.

It was like a scene from a hair wash commercial.

It was right after that that I dug into that bosom.

After laying down the Witchbeast, I struck a merciless punch to the face.

No, there was no need to punch. Only then did I recall the existence of the sword, and my hand drove the blade right between the beast’s forehead.

Hey, hey hey hey hey!

The muddy cat’s cry resounded like a dying cry. My body was hot again with hot blood.

I could feel the bewildered gazes. But I was already halfway through my mind.

Panting, my mouth spat out a word.

“… … How dare you touch Emma?”

Suddenly, his eyes were burning red.

  1. Dark Prinny says:

Zzzz. Author is pushing it. We could’ve skipped this Emma scene. Emma’s character in the story is pretty weak right now. There are some more urgent matters at hand. Author is just jamming Emma in this story line. MC is too distracted, if this was a game there should be a prompt that says to save princess or go look for Emma. And one should die if he chooses the other. There is no sense of danger. Author is only using gore to provoke thought.

  2. RipAzHa says:

Emma probably died in the other timeline and that may be why he wants to protect her so much. Regret is a powerful emotion
