Overpowered Archmage Doesn’t Hide His Talent chapter 188

188 - Thank you for your hard work.

188 – Thank you for your hard work.

Flan stepped into the territory with a characteristic expressionless expression.

The once fertile territory had become incredibly barren. As the wind tickled the tip of my nose, the unique scent of hardened Mertil was present, so I was able to quickly understand the situation.

I can’t believe this happened in just one week. It wasn’t an unexpected sight, but even so, Flan narrowed his eyebrows as if he was disapproving.

He began walking, carefully inspecting the territory.

It was in such a bad shape that it reminded me of Lecheln Hill, but it seemed like it could be easily repaired. This is because the ancient rune language was refined to a great extent within the Chinese world.

The first time Flan stopped was when he discovered the head of this estate. The blue girl looked back without thinking and then slowly froze.

Trixie, consumed by her fatigue, blinks her eyes several times. The next moment she opened her mouth like a goldfish, and suddenly broke out of her voice and mumbled.

“… “Flan?”

Flann only nodded her head quietly.

I didn’t bother to ask how you were doing. The blow to Yeongji was enormous and the week-long gap was long. The shock to Trixie, who had just become the head of the family, must have been enormous.

“You had a hard time.”

Therefore, Plan only said this.

Although it was only four letters, many complex emotions flashed across Trixie’s face. The girl, who had a dazed look on her face, soon nodded her head with a faint smile.

“That’s right. “She is having a hard time.”

“I will not forget your efforts.”

After Flan praised Trixie’s hard work, she asked:

“Trixie, where is her second princess now?”

“Huh?”

As Trixie approached Flan, she paused for a moment as if she was faced with an unexpected question.

There was no time to waste, so Plan asked again.

“Second princess. “It must be here.”

“Ah….”

Trixie’s expression wrinkled as if she had remembered something very embarrassing. However, she could not resist Flan’s straight gaze, so she quickly caught her breath and continued her words.

“The center of the Magic Tower construction site.”

Trixie wasn’t stupid enough to be put off. She narrowed down only the clear facts and relayed her information to Flan as is.

The rough story was like this.

The story was that many people, including the Academy, were hostile to the princess, and Aurora, her party, was quietly kneeling in the center of the construction site.

Trixie especially emphasized that both her princess’s spirit and her physical condition were strange, but scenes were naturally drawn in Flann’s mind as she listened quietly.

Promise.

It seems that Aurora, in her own way, tried to keep her promise to Flan. Trixie quickly blocked Flan who quietly nodded her head and was about to leave.

“Are you going to meet me right away? The situation is very….”

“That’s why I’m going directly.”

Flann’s red eyes turned to Trixie.

“If not me, no one would come forward.”

Trixie could not refute. In fact, the plan was the only support that could solve the current situation.

“Thoroughly control access to the surrounding area. “Please.”

As always, you won’t be able to stop Flan. However, Trixie was curious about his movements and asked.

“What are you going to do from now on?”

“Knot.”

Flann only answered easily.

“I need to end this promise soon.”

There wasn’t even sunlight here.

Even though construction was halted midway, the amount of Mertil accumulated was already large, and Aurora, which was almost as big as a mansion in size, was located on the site.

In this place where the passage of time was not even clear, Aurora was just kneeling. He never broke his posture as he waited endlessly for someone.

“….”

Dark vision, a completely white mind.

For Aurora, who was breathing blankly, only one sense of duty remained. Promise with Plan. That was all.

“… “I have to protect it.”

Aurora muttered helplessly.

Her problem is that there is no way to make her words come true.

The cold Mertil was already the size of a mansion. Even if she had several court wizards with her, she naturally did not have the capabilities to complete her difficult task.

Let’s wait.

In the end, the conclusion reached was simple.

But then my heart rang with a thumping sound. Aurora instinctively cupped her chest in response to her unexpected sensation.

I was able to understand it through instinct, beyond her common sense.

The ‘expiration date’ mentioned by her masked blood demon, Dust, seemed to have finally come to Aurora.

“Uh….”

Aurora managed to hold on to her sanity.

Although she didn’t feel any pain, her overall senses were becoming blurred. She instinctively knew that if she let go of consciousness now, she would never come back.

But at some point.

“… ?”

The feeling in her left arm was erased. Aurora found her sudden change strange and touched her body with her right hand.

“The feeling….”

Her left arm only felt like she was touching a piece of wood. Soon, the sensation on the left side of her face seemed to gradually become dull.

“….”

Aurora touched her body to see where else she was becoming paralyzed. She was terrified that the number of areas she could no longer feel was increasing.

─I told you, right? There is an expiration date.

Aurora had no choice but to listen in silence to the voice that suddenly penetrated her head. Blood Demon Dust’s voice played vividly in her head.

─Are you surprised to hear my voice? It’s not that surprising. Because all dolls are connected to me.

Dust’s voice was still strange and unpleasant.

─ After acting foolishly and being abandoned by the imperial family, she finally became a completely useless doll. Now I have no choice but to discard it.

There was a mixture of ridicule and no more voices were heard. However, the intense pain continues one after another.

The pain continued as if she was being stabbed by a needle, and at one point, a shock occurred inside her body along with a popping sound.

“Wow!”

Aurora spat out blood. Her organs were so twisted that she couldn’t even breathe.

The fear that creeps in.

Death warned by instinct.

“….”

But even so, Aurora persevered.

It was impossible to predict how long she would be able to endure, but she was determined to stubbornly endure at least up to her own limits.

“I have to hold on…” .”

If she was to keep her promise to Flan, she had to endure. She survived for eight years in a dark basement, so supporting was not something Aurora was unfamiliar with.

1 Second.

2 Seconds.

3 Seconds.

Aurora traced her hand around her nose, trembling like a tree branch. Her nose was bleeding continuously.

Another second.

2 Seconds.

3 Seconds.

I gritted my teeth and held on, but there was no luck. It was almost impossible for her to overcome the difficulties she was born with with her mental power alone.

A pain arose as if she had been hit in the back of the head.

“Ah.”

Her vision became blurry and she lost consciousness. Aurora eventually collapsed onto her back.

It was still dark here.

Like the dungeon where she spent eight years.

A laugh escaped Aurora’s lips.

… In the end, I couldn’t escape the darkness my whole life.

A few thoughts came to mind, but they were just thoughts. It could never lead to action and never becomes reality.

Aurora’s eyelids slowly began to droop.

I have to keep my promise….

Between her eyelids, which were already more than half closed, she suddenly felt a light. It was still a very weak century.

‘Abama. Do I really have to throw it away? This is a doll I really love, but is there any way to fix it and use it? We have a lot of affection from our time together….’

‘Jeong is a personal thing. If it’s defective, just get a new one. Rather, it takes a lot more effort to fix something that is broken.’

‘Are you saying you’re looking for a new one?’ ? It’s something completely different after all. I like this.’

‘Neither objects nor people can be modified and used. Only by keeping that in mind will you be able to live safely.’

‘….’

‘Are you crying? ‘I wonder if I can’t stop crying right now!’

‘I’m sorry….’

The things Aurora recalled were always like this.

Because reminiscences are based on the past, and Aurora’s happy days in the past never existed.

If you think about it, she has never fixed anything about herself.

If a product was deemed defective, it was discarded even if the target was a human being, and if it was broken, a replacement was found. She said she wanted to be something irreplaceable.

After living such a life, I can’t believe I’m going to change myself now.

“Ha….”

It was an arrogant decision, and looking back, it was a dark life.

Aurora didn’t even have the strength left to endure any longer. She quietly closed her eyes and waited for her death, which was so close to her, to take her away.

But at that moment.

Talk─

Something landed on the bridge of Aurora’s nose.

It tickled. As if her hair was on it.

But doesn’t itching mean that your senses have returned? Aurora pushed up her eyelids with her doubts in mind.

Flapping─ Flapping─

A very warm light covered my vision. It took quite a while for her to realize that there was a dawn butterfly sitting on the bridge of her nose.

“… Princess.”

Her cool, heavy call made Aurora realize who was standing behind her butterfly. The princess very slowly lifted her head and looked above her.

Flan was looking down at himself.

“To this extent, you have kept your promise.”

A tone filled with the warmth I longed for.

At this reunion, Aurora wanted to say something. She probably meant to apologize, but she ultimately failed to spit it out. Because her body was completely still.

“So, this is my promise.”

A warm wind blew and began to neatly melt the hardened Mertil. Brilliant light pours down from the sky, and Mertil, which was once gray and hard, is now fluttering like pure white flower petals.

Aurora felt her pulsating heart again and tried to observe what was happening before her eyes. She has a flock of butterflies that wouldn’t be awkward to call a ‘flock’…. She was flying towards her.

Dawn butterflies land on her body, including her shoulders. The light she so desperately wanted to embrace was now so close.

The princess managed to raise her hand and grasp the hem of her flan. Aurora’s facial muscles moved in a way she had never seen them move since she was born.

… It was a smile.

“Thank you for your hard work.”

With just those words, she was finally able to sleep peacefully.

“Ha.”

Maiev let out a sigh of relief as soon as she came to her void.

  1. “She was finally able to sleep peacefully.” At first I thought she was just sleeping and then felt ominous, read it again and thought she died(or expiration date came?). Now i don’t even know i hope she doesn’t die.

  2. Thanks for the update noble.

  3. Author… what are you doing? Earlier chapters were at least twice the length of these chapters, now its not even just half the length, it also feels like he is unnecessarily dragging the story longer with no gain, chapters quality and number of readers drop included. What did i read last 8 chapters? Aurora just sniffled and blamed herself, cried, threw herself even though she didn’t actually intentionally do anything wrong (was manipulated by Dusk) all so just she would feel a sense of regret and debt to become just another member of harem, it was really so forced. I liked her character and author also invested good amount of screentime so i was expectant. However these last 8 chapters just destroyed that perception and everything went to waste. If he used his previous efficient way of writing i would understand her situation much more clearly in just 3 or 4 chapters. He used to use first person viewpoint which made us feel much closer to characters and feel their feelings much more vivid. Now he mostly uses omniscient viewpoint to “assume” characters feelings and thoughts which feels foreign and you don’t even hear the real thoughts of the character.

    1. Nobody is reading all of that.

      1. I just read all that to prove you wrong.
