The Returnee Is Having a Hard Time With His Younger Sister 10

10 – First Outing, and… (3)

The sword swung.

Before the fact was known to the world, within the frozen time, Yeoul retrieved the sword and turned it back into a small earring.

A moment passed.

Finally, the world realizes the fact that Yeoul’s sword has been swung.

The beginning was a fist that came right before her eyes.

With a massive fist that blocked her entire field of vision, there was a line.

A solid line. From the black fist, up the arm, and through the body that was as big as a house. Without any resistance, as if it was natural, the devastating blow swung by Yeoul’s hand pierced through the center of the black monster’s body.

Filled with magical power, it continued to move forward without losing its strength even after piercing through an impenetrable force field.

Leaving behind a long scar of mercy, as if it had completed its task, it disappeared.

If you looked at it from Yeoul’s perspective, it would appear as if she had drawn a line in the world with a blade.

Time, which seemed to have stopped, flowed.

The black fist, which was already extended, would annihilate Yeoul to dust and then obliterate everything in its path with the remaining shockwaves.

If it hadn’t been split in half.

But even if it had been split, the power it contained was real.

An unconscious monster with its central nervous system exposed without realizing it.

Unable to control its will, the body, which could no longer bear its immense power, stood still as if being pulled by inertia and shot towards Yeoul.

The monster’s body, already split into two sections, didn’t even reach Yeoul.

It simply split into two from the solid line drawn on its body, and as it passed by Yeoul, it spilled fresh blood onto her, revealing the insides of its left and right body.

Thump, thump, thump–

The two black forces, which grazed past Yeoul and collided with the ground multiple times, finally exerted all their power when they hit the tightly closed gate and came to a stop.

They had flown all the way from one end of the schoolyard to the gate located far away.

A light fist that could contain that much power,

If Yeoul hadn’t been there, it would have demolished the entire school and turned the area into uninhabitable land for years, and then it would have barely been hunted down,

The monster that took away the lives of countless ordinary people and supers.

Without daring to shake off its power in the world, it collapsed in front of Yeoul’s sword.

What it left behind as it died were a few holes in the schoolyard and the blood filled with curses that it poured out onto Yeoul’s body as it flew away with two severed halves.

Unfortunately, it didn’t even touch Yeoul.

He acted as if nothing had happened.

He didn’t even allow a slight disturbance in his breath, or even a drop of blood to touch his body.

Only the small crucifix earrings with droplets of black blood flowing down indicated that he had cut the monster.

Despite all that had happened, Yeoul walked towards the spot where the monster had been struck, without showing any expression.

The black blood melted into the ground, making a boiling sound.

In the middle of it, there was a purple stone emitting light.

Yeoul picked it up to examine it.

Although her body couldn’t sense any magic, Yeoul had an intuition that this stone, which had the power to enable the monster to utilize incredible magic, was the mechanism responsible for supplying power.

Is this how the Earth’s spirits move?

Originally one, but split into two by Yeoul’s sword, the violet stone. He rolled it around in his hand and then put it in his pocket. For no particular reason, he just decided to keep it since it was something he had never seen before.

But to think that the spirits that suddenly appeared on the school playground were so powerful. Is the Earth constantly facing this level of threat and chaos?

Was that what Ryeon meant when she said the world is in chaos?

Thinking that way, Yeoul slowly walked towards the school gates. He had seen enough and had no reason to stay here any longer. He wanted to explore other places.

Black liquid that seemed to boil and melt the ground, emitting corrupt magic even after losing their lives, the two black masses.

Without paying them any attention, Yeoul left the school through the gates.

And there was someone who had been filming it all.

* * *

Before the appearance of the black monster, while Yeoul was sitting on the bench. There was a student playing “Ddeng ddeng” in an empty classroom where no one was present.

Why was she playing “Ddeng ddeng”?

Because she was a psychic. And quite talented at that. She had developed her talent at an early age, and she already had plans to attend a special academy for psychics next year.

Naturally, she had no interest in the regular curriculum.

She couldn’t understand why she had to learn useless and headache-inducing math and science when she was going to be a psychic and receive combat training in the future.

As a result, she often skipped classes and even stopped attending school altogether at first. But she realized that she needed a certain attendance rate to proceed with her plans for further education, so she started coming to school but ended up sleeping in empty classrooms all day.

Like any other time, while waiting for the time to go home while sleeping.

She woke up from her short nap with the sound of sirens ringing loudly on campus.

However, she couldn’t hear the announcement properly in her drowsy state. The words about dimensional portals and the severity of the situation didn’t reach her ears.

So she mistook it for an evacuation drill, something she often went through.

Annoying–

The sudden appearance of a dimensional portal was by no means a common occurrence. With advanced prediction technology developed in the past few years, 99.9% of dimensional portals could be accurately predicted: when, where, and how they would appear.

It was not strange to become complacent and ignore the 0.1% possibility.

Baffled by the overwhelming magic that was being emitted with tremendous force, she jumped up in surprise.

What is this…?

Overwhelming magic that only left her with the thought of being immense.

She doubted her senses and looked down at the source of the magic – the school playground.

There, a dimensional portal just about to form existed.

Before she could fully grasp the situation, the dimensional portal fixed itself, and a large black monster emerged from it, filling her sight.

And it roared.

The window in front of her shattered into pieces and pierced her body, but she paid no attention to it. The overwhelming outburst of magic was consuming. She was engulfed in a suffocating illusion, as if her breath had been taken away.

At that moment, she sensed her own death.

She knew she was not someone who could survive against that thing.

No matter how talented she was, no matter how promising her future as an extraordinary being. In front of that thing, she was nothing more than a speck of sand.

If it so much as waved its hand lightly, she would turn into a handful of blood.

An overpowering strength that made resistance impossible.

In the presence of an uncontrollable death, her spirit broke.

She felt like she was already dead. There was nothing she could do. She couldn’t even think. She could only hope that the impending death that was about to come upon her would be painless.

In her vacant eyes, a smartphone on the desk came into view.

She looked at it with a trembling gaze.

“……”

A single thought came to her mind as she blankly stared at it.

Yes.

It would be better to capture that monster on camera.

By doing so, she could let others know what that monster looked like.

Even if it was just a fraction of information about the monster that would destroy this place, she could provide it to others.

And, she could let them know that someone who was about to face death was here, in this place.

She could at least announce her own death.

Hoping that her death would not end in vain.

Even if the smartphone would most likely be shattered, if there was a chance that the memory could be preserved.

With that thought in mind, she tremblingly opened the camera app.

And she began to capture the black monster beyond the glassless window.

But unfortunately, the screen captured by the camera was filled with noise due to the intense dimensional vibrations.

She could barely make out its form.

Still, as she was desperately asking herself where it was, something other than the monster appeared in her eyes.

A man sitting blankly on a bench in the middle of the field, in front of the monster.

She couldn’t believe that there was someone else who hadn’t managed to evacuate besides herself, and she was startled. But soon, even that thought was erased.

The monster approached him slowly, and roared once again.

The magical power that she thought couldn’t become any stronger burst forth into a century that surpassed imagination.

Sensing the tremendous magical power, she had a premonition that her consciousness would soon be severed.

The monster clenched its fist.

in anticipation of the erupting shockwave, she tightly shut her eyes.

And…

Instead of the expected explosion, she heard a heavy sound, as if two massive objects were rolling on the ground behind her.

In an instant, the density of the overwhelming magical power, which was already overwhelming to maintain consciousness, significantly weakened.

Something was strange.

She gently opened her eyes that she had been closing.

In her eyes, she saw two enormous black monsters and a man calmly standing nearby.

“Uh…?” Astonishingly, not a single drop of the black blood that was melting away the ground all over the schoolyard was around the man, as if being blocked by something.

She watched the sight absentmindedly, and the man who had been standing where the monster stood picked up something, passed by the monster’s corpse as if nothing had happened, and left the school.

After taking in everything with her eyes, she lost strength in her legs, and hesitated to sit down right there.

She couldn’t understand what had happened…

In her hand, she tightly held a smartphone that was still recording.
