The Returnee Is Having a Hard Time With His Younger Sister chapter 43

The Returnee Is Having a Hard Time With His Younger Sister 43

43 – Dinner with Everyone (1)

A few days had passed since then, it was the weekend.

The point at which Yeoul, as a teacher, has not yet received specific guidance on what to do.

And on this day, it was the day when his younger sister, Lyeowun, came out of the dormitory and stayed at home for a short while.

As can be inferred from the phrase “staying for a short while,” she cannot stay at home for a long time. She came on Saturday evening and had to return to the dormitory the next day, Sunday afternoon.

However, it was the day when Lyeowun returned home after a long time. He couldn’t just spend the day doing nothing.

So Yeoul, thinking that it had been a long time, was considering gathering his acquaintances, including Soyoung and Ulrike, to have dinner together.

He took out his smartphone and contacted those around him.

If the time is convenient, come to his house for a meal tonight.

Almost immediately after sending the message, a reply arrived. It was an acceptance.

Soyoung and Ulrike responded after a while.

Soyoung also naturally accepted.

As for Ulrike, she was still living busy days, but she had no choice but to reluctantly accept with a mustard-in-gut feeling, as she had no option to refuse Yeoul’s request.

After confirming the positive replies from everyone.

Yeoul, who was sitting on the sofa, stood up.

And then, he held his sword and divided the space.

After a long time. Since returning to Earth, it was the first time he had a chance to demonstrate his skills.

* * *

It had been an absolute period of two weeks, but he felt like several months had passed.

Lyeowun arrived at the apartment, filled with genuine excitement.

It was the day when she returned home after a long time and saw her older brother.

Such a joyful day.

If there was one thing that weighed on her mind…

The message she received from her older brother in the morning.

He said that he planned to invite acquaintances for dinner tonight.

Thinking about it, it was also delightful to have a meal together, as it had been a while since she saw her sisters, but she also felt a sense of sadness that the time spent alone with her older brother was decreasing.

With such conflicting emotions, Lyeowun stepped out of the elevator.

And there was a woman standing in front of her house door.

It was Soyoung.

The appointment time was approaching, so she must be planning to go inside the house.

Lyeowun wanted to greet her with a sense of joy that she felt from seeing her face, but for some reason, Soyoung seemed to be hesitating.

Was something wrong?

“Unni?”

So Young was startled when she called out, and her ears and tail stood up proudly as evidence.

“What were you doing that made you so surprised?”

“Um…oh, it’s nothing…”

Though she had eagerly run to Yeoul’s house in excitement from receiving the invitation, once she reached the door and was about to ring the bell…

Because she had been so busy lately with making a living, it felt a little awkward to see Yeoul’s face after such a long time.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable about being invited to Yeoul’s house in this situation, she was hesitating on whether to ring the bell at the door or not.

So Young couldn’t bring herself to speak.

“What is it?”

Although it was a bit dull, she wanted to say, “Let’s go together,” as Lee Yoon stood at the door and tried to unlock it.

The sound of a bell rang, coincidentally accompanied by the arrival of the elevator.

The door opened.

The person who got off there was a woman even smaller in stature than Lee Yoon, who was still a high school student.

However, an area of her body had an impressively noticeable size…

A chest that caught the attention in an instant, even compared to other women.

Trying to divert his gaze from that, Lee Yoon once again tried to unlock the door, but wasn’t that woman checking the address and slowly approaching this way?

“Is this…the place?”

The place where that murmuring woman’s footsteps stopped was in front of Lee Yoon’s house.

Three women standing in the same place.

Lee Yoon glanced at her, pretending not to notice. In return, she also met Lee Yoon’s gaze.

A brief confrontation.

Then, the woman with the small stature spoke first.

“Um…are you the person who lives here?”

She asked innocently, with harmless-looking pupils.

“Yes, but why? What’s going on at our house?”

In response to Lee Yoon’s answer, she became puzzled.

She hadn’t heard anything about a woman living together.

But, roughly speaking, she seemed quite young compared to Yeoul, who had a face that couldn’t easily be guessed for her age.

Ah, then could this person be the younger sister that Yeoul mentioned?

After roughly grasping the situation, she opened her mouth.

“Oh, I was invited to this house. This is Song Yeoul’s house, right?”

Since there was a possibility that it might not be the younger sister, she didn’t mention that point.

“Yes, that’s right…”

Judging by the way she called him “Oppa,” it seems like she is indeed the invited guest….

So, does that mean that while her brother was briefly away from home, he became close enough with a woman to invite her to the house again?

And that woman is even small and appears delicate….

“Then let’s go inside together.”

Why is it that every person he becomes close with is such a pretty woman?

It’s not hard to understand when considering her brother’s looks, but….

Suppressing a sigh, she finally opened the door.

A small woman followed behind Yeoul.

On the other hand, Soyoung, who was standing together with them, kept her mouth shut because of her shy nature that tends to isolate herself when encountering unfamiliar faces.

On top of that.

With the addition of the unfamiliar person after not seeing her long-time acquaintances Ullike, Yeoul, and Yeoul for a while, it was already awkward, but having a first-time encounter made her even more shy.

Originally, it was a tendency for Song siblings, Ullike, and her to quickly become close.

If it had been her original personality, they wouldn’t have become close so quickly, but thanks to being dragged around without even giving a chance to isolate herself, they became close quickly.

But that person is a completely unfamiliar person….

Thinking that it might be a difficult situation, Soyoung followed behind.

After completing all the preparations for the dinner.

Yeoul, who was sitting on the sofa resting.

Just as he was starting to think that it was almost time for the promised meeting, he heard the sound of the door opening.

Seeing that the door opened without the doorbell being pressed, he thought that the younger sister, Yeoung, was the first to arrive.

But for some reason, it wasn’t just one person, but three people coming in at the same time.

In the order of Yeoung, Jiwoo, and Soyoung, they entered one after another.

“You’ve arrived. Yeoung, did you come?”

“Yeah, Oppa….”

Even though they had been together for three months, perhaps it felt like months had passed during the two weeks they were apart.

With a slightly awkward gesture, Ryeowoon responds to Oppa’s greeting.

“Hello, Yeoul-ssi.”

“Hello, Yeoul-ssi.”

Jiwoo and Soyoung answer at the same time.

The voices of the two overlapping. Soyoung reflexively looks at Jiwoo before quickly diverting her gaze.

“I didn’t know we were all coming together. Did you arrange to meet in front of my house?”

In response to his question, Ryeowoon receives an answer from Yeo-ul.

But.

There were four people invited, but there was one unseen face.

Yeo-ul briefly glances at her watch.

The promised time is approaching.

She can’t be late, even if no one else cares.

With that thought, Yeo-ul makes a phone call to someone.

* * *

Being the CEO alone.

The person who is struggling the most within it.

To be precise, her name is Ullike, an elf with an unpleasant expression.

The reason for the unpleasant expression.

It always is, but today it seemed unusually busy.

She didn’t even notice how much time had passed.

Suddenly, the phone on the table rings.

The name displayed on the screen is Yeoul-nim.

If it were usual, she would have answered without a second of delay, but she had switched it to silent mode earlier and didn’t realize the call was coming through.

A moment later, the call ends.

Now, the crystal, the Tele-Orb, placed on the other side of the table, sparkles.

She, who couldn’t ignore the light that bothered her nerves, manipulates the Tele-Orb with a sharpened personality.

In its case, it is usually used for important reports from subordinates.

Speaking with great annoyance, she belittles the person on the other end.

“What’s going on again?”

– It’s me. When are you coming?

As soon as the subordinate employee─whom she considered as such─used informal language, a surge of anger immediately took hold of her.

“I’m using informal speech. And who do you think you are? What’s this nonsense about when are you coming?”

Normally, just hearing his voice would make her legs feel weak.

But she was so focused on her work that she couldn’t even understand him.

“Me? I’m Song Yeoul.”

Song Yeoul.

Song, Yeoul…?

When she heard that name, her busy hands abruptly stopped in their tracks.

Did I hear wrong…?

She turned her head and looked at the man with long hair and pale skin.

A fear deeply ingrained in her mind, creeping up just by looking at him.

It was indeed the Song Yeoul she knew.

Only then did she realize the irreversible mistake she had made.

What have I done…?

As soon as she realized, she tried to apologize sincerely.

But she was too shocked and terrified that even her voice couldn’t steady itself.

“And who do you think you are.”

“S-Sorry….”

“I’ll give you 5 minutes, so be here by then.”

He didn’t say anything more, but it was clear what the outcome would be if she didn’t arrive within 5 minutes.

There was no room for doubt.

She immediately stood up from her seat.

Putting on her coat, she left the executive office without hesitation.

“Director?”

“Is there something urgent?”

Following her departure, the questions of the subordinate employees trailed after her, but she didn’t even hear them.

Her mind was filled only with the fact that she had to arrive within 5 minutes.

The treatment with the CEO is kinda cringe. I mean she was an evil POS, so why bother inviting her to these events then? There doesnt seem to be any reason other than simple harrasment. Which is so out of character for the MC since he does not seem to be the type to do things without reason.
