Incompatible Interspecies Wives chapter 139

139 - Capital (3)

139 – Capital (3)

-Babam! Babam!

As the king entered the capital, numerous sounds shook the space.

The sound of the horn.

The earnest cheers of the people.

Applause.

It wasn’t like the appearance of a hero, but it was well received.

I felt anew how much support the king received from the people.

Ner and Arwin rode behind me.

They looked down at a lot of people looking up at them.

Unlike in the past, the two became more confident.

Especially Ner has changed a lot.

And I feel that the eyes of the people who were looking at them are moving towards me.

Thanks to my two wives, even I get attention.

‘…That’s Berg.’

‘As rumored, he’s handsome?’

‘…The saintess’s man.’

I let out a short sigh at the whispers I heard.

As expected, news always seemed to travel faster than people.

In the first place, the Archbishop of Hea Church would have been kicked out, and similar news would have been delivered all over the world.

Looking at Ner and Arwin, they both seemed fine right now.

Maybe it’s because they arrived after solving this problem.

It is safe to say that our atmosphere has returned to the way it was before.

Of course, if you dig deeper, the accumulated thoughts may have changed.

We continued to ride.

First of all, I had the idea of taking a break.

The days of non-stop activity were too long.

We continued to follow the procession.

.

.

.

Soldiers are scattered as they find their place.

After taking measures to make all the bosses go to the inn to rest.

I, Arwin, Ner and Gale followed the King.

The king’s bodyguard led us.

You can see the destination you want to arrive at.

Many people were preparing to face me and the king.

Everyone was polite.

“Berg. You follow me right away.”

The king spoke to me as he rode his horse.

I nodded.

Wives also look back.

They also signaled that they would follow me.

As the king gets off his horse, numerous servants cling to him.

We then get off the horse.

The puzzled eyes looking at me change into realizations when I see Ner and Arwin.

Through their characteristics, even I seemed to be specific.

“You are our guest. With sincerity.”

The king explained me to his servants and said.

Everyone bowed their heads to me, a commoner, following the king’s order.

Maybe it was because of the wives.

It’s easy to forget, but the families of Ner and Arwin are mighty.

As I was facing the crowd of illusions like that, several other gazes were attached to me.

Some women were looking at me.

There were attendants…And there were also nobles.

A familiar gaze.

Looks like you’re interested.

I let out a short sigh.

At the moment, it was just an uncomfortable interest.

I looked back for a moment.

My heterogeneous wives, whose expressions darkened slightly, probably felt the gaze in the same way.

As a sign of reassurance, I smiled.

The two of them froze for a moment at that smile… They responded slowly.

He looked at me with a smile as well.

Even the king saw me like this.

“…”

“…”

I meet eyes with the man who views polygamy negatively.

After making eye contact for a moment, I lowered my head.

The king, who had been stopped, headed inside.

****

The King said as he entered the audience room.

“You may want to rest, Berg. But before that, let’s just sort out the situation and go.”

“Okay.”

I agreed with his suggestion.

I didn’t want to be constantly called out to him.

The King slowly sat down in his chair.

I was standing in the middle of the audience room, and Nere and Arwin were with me behind me.

The king speaks.

“You will have to stay here until the rumors are put to rest. Rumors about the saintess and you will continue to grow.”

“…”

“We need an excuse too. You have to be able to let them know that your relationship with the saintess is a thing of the past. It’s also true in the first place. You have two wives, right?”

I nodded slowly.

“You should be here until we resolve people’s curiosity and anxiety. To be honest, I don’t know how long that will take.”

“…”

He asked while scratching his horn.

“By the way, I heard you decided to learn from Gail?”

“…Yes. I decided to do that.”

“Tell me if you need anything. I will help you as much as possible. Like Gale said, you could be the last key to the war.”

Arwin held his breath at those words, and Nere looked away from me in confusion.

I only looked at the king’s face, intending to explain it to them later.

“…Maybe the Church of Hea will come looking for you. You’ll have to figure it out on that part.”

“…”

“And soon we will gather people together for a dinner, so join us in that too. There are Lady Blackwood and Lady Celebrien, and I can’t help but treat them.”

Of course, Ner and Arwin are nobles, but there are some puzzles.

“…Is it okay for me to participate?”

To that question, the king evaded the answer, as if he himself was ambiguous.

“If you feel burdened, just show your face and go. Still, you’re a celebrity.”

“…”

“This is the end of our story. Go back and rest Gendry will show you the room, so follow him.”

As I was about to go back with a nod, Arwin asked.

“Your Majesty.”

The king, who had risen from his seat, took his seat at those words.

“…Tell me.”

He responded with his own respect for Arwin.

It might have been the respect shown to Jang Saeng Jong.

Maybe it’s a relationship that will help future generations.

Arwin looked at me for a while and asked.

“…If there is a library, would it be okay if I stop by for a while?”

“A library?”

Her I also looked at her at her sudden her arwin’s favor.

Soon after that, the king replied as if there was no problem.

“It doesn’t matter. Let’s go ask Gendry about that too.”

Arwin nodded his head at that.

No more words were exchanged between us.

“Then let’s go.”

So I bowed my head as I said my final goodbyes.

The king waved his hand.

We turned around.

****

As I was following Gendry, an aide to the king, Arwin asked me.

“…Berg. Do I really need to learn from Gail?”

From noble mtl dot com

“…”

It was Arwin who had been telling me to listen to Gale’s story, but she cautiously told me what had changed.

Soon I could see what she knew.

Didn’t he hear the story from Sylprien?

“…It’s okay.”

As I speak, Arwin asks.

“…Then what will you do if you become a fighter for loneliness?”

As expected, it points out that point.

Ner asked, surprised by those words.

“…Yes? A fighter of loneliness…?”

I waved my hand at them.

“It’s not like that, so don’t worry.”

I put aside the worrying stories and move on.

I didn’t have to explain to them a story I didn’t believe in either.

I just care about it for nothing.

I had to spend some time here anyway.

Training with Gale might not be too bad.

– Chuck.

At that time, the king’s aide, Gendry, who had been going ahead, stopped.

“…Princess.”

And then he lowered his head.

A woman walks past the attendants in front.

Sharp eyes. Straight horns. Red eyes.

“…”

“…”

Her eyes met hers for a moment.

Ner and Arwin, who followed me, reacted faster than I did, so they bowed their heads like nobles.

– Talk tok.

I belatedly lowered my head at Arwin’s act of lightly touching my hand.

“…Was it a berg…?”

The princess asked me straight away without saying anything else.

I answered her by raising her head.

“…Yes.”

Her interested eyes come to me.

I didn’t like it…

It was literally interesting.

It looked like it had seen an interesting toy.

“…I’m Leah Dreygo.”

The girl who introduces me by name and approaches me.

Her surname, Draigo, reveals her confidence.

“I heard a lot of rumors. Whoops. I heard you’re showing off your might on the battlefield next to the hero…”

“…It’s all thanks to our talented leader.”

“Besides, he is humble. You are an interesting person. In addition to this, rumors circulated that he was the saintess’s man…?”

At that, I let out a small sigh.

I had an argument with her wives about it… I didn’t think she would bring up the uncomfortable subject right away.

“…That’s in the past. Now my heart is elsewhere.”

Leah Draigo’s red eyes scanned her wives behind me.

She kept walking towards me.

“Is that so?”

Gendry slipped her way, and she came straight up to me and slowly reached her hand toward my face.

“…By the way…There was a commoner who was this handsome…”

-Sueuk.

I slipped away from that touch.

“…”

Lea Draigo’s expression hardened for an instant.

“…Please don’t touch me.”

Say it with your own courtesy.

Now that Shien’s wounds are over… There was no reason for me to do this.

I could do this much for the anxious wives.

“…Ha..!”

She bursts into laughter as if she’s dumbfounded.

At the same time, interest disappeared from her eyes… And other emotions bloomed instead.

I didn’t even know what it was.

It wasn’t anger or insult.

On the contrary, it seemed like a deeper interest.

Now again she looked at my wives.

She managed her expression with difficulty and apologized to Ner and Arwin with a smile.

He didn’t apologize to me.

“…Sorry. Did I treat you too carelessly? Stop thinking that you are a commoner and a mercenary…”

“…”

“…”

Ner and Arwin did not answer.

At their reaction, Leah Dreygo moved on.

“Then see you next time. Nice to meet you.”

I bowed my head.

Lea Draigo, who had approached in such an instant, disappeared again in an instant.

I looked at her back.

-Tak.

Then Ner crossed his arms with me.

“…?”

-Sueuk. Swoop.

Looking at her, Nere rubbed her face against my arm, rubbing her head back and forth.

She took her arm away from me again and walked away.

…I didn’t know what it meant, but it seemed like he was thanking me.

“…Let’s go, Berg.”

Arwin touched me lightly and moved her steps.

I nodded and followed Gendry again.

  1. G says:

I dont think gail is setting him up. It’s pretty clear that berg is under the curse of that Rin god and his destiny is being screwed with to leave him alone and isolated no matter what with the women around him. Gail is just training him for whatever other crap Rin is going to throw in his way after recognizing the situation.

  2. huehue huehue says:

Lol Ner is marking him with her scent again 😂

  3. Anon says:

i also think it’s best that Berg stays single, he’s getting hard to sympathize with by each chapter

  4. Novem says:

I’m imagining a future where shien dies in berg’s arm on the battlefield and prior to that he finds Ner’s notebook and arwin’s poison and polygamy being abolished which will bring about the prologue.

  5. rob z rob z says:

F#ck Gail. He is setting up Berg big time – Berg should stay as far away as possible.
