The Villainess Whom I Had Served for 13 Years Has Fallen chapter 80

80 – The Unqualified Person -4-

[Hans’ ‘Corruption Value’ has exceeded a certain level.]

– Unable to proceed with persuasion due to Hans becoming a perfect ‘villain.’

[Quest ‘Persuade’ has failed.]

– Ding!

[The will of the person hostile to Hans has been broken.]

[Reason]

Lune: Long time friendship

Mikhail: Noble belief of not killing people.

Yuria: No combat ability / Fragile heart that cannot kill friends.

[Unable to find a person with the will to kill Hans.]

[Quest ‘Eliminate Hans’ has failed.]

[Quest has failed.]

As doubt arose from Hans’ words,

The blue window rang with a eerie notification, announcing the end of the story. The blue window, which told us there was no hope for us without qualifications, pronounced our ‘failure.’

Upon hearing the word ‘corruption,’ Yuria’s eyes trembled.

The thought of it being too late and the guilt of not being able to protect Hans made Yuria’s expression darken.

“Hans…”

“Don’t look at me like that. It’s too late, even if it is late.”

Hans said to Uriah, who had a pitiful expression on his face.

“Let’s continue what we were talking about earlier. I asked how someone like you, who hasn’t even learned offensive magic, managed to survive in the dungeon.”

Hans’ words brought back Uriah’s forgotten doubts. Hans, who offered a different opinion to the question that had been confirmed as Ricardo’s doing, had a bitter smile on his face.

“Aren’t you curious? How you managed to survive?”

Uriah thought it was Ricardo’s doing.

She had thought otherwise, but if it wasn’t what Ricardo had done, it wouldn’t make sense for her to have been brought out of the dungeon. She thought there must have been some connection.

It was too absurd to call it a coincidence.

However, Hans’ disagreement began to shake the conclusion she had reached.

“The truth is, I was there too. I had come to the dungeon to test some good magic I had learned.”

Hans casually spoke while putting his hand on Ruin’s head.

He said he wouldn’t fail this time, as he strangled Mihail with black chains and expelled dark magic. He was looking at Uriah.

“About an hour passed. I heard strange noises in the hallway and told Mihail not to do anything. I didn’t like him from the beginning. I heard him say not to mess with commoners. I thought it was definitely you. Honestly, no one else would say such things. Isn’t that right?”

Hans ignored Ruin’s cursing in pain and told her about the day he remembered.

It was like speaking with eyes as venomous as a venomous snake.

“Those guys are really bad. If they were going to curse at us, they should have done it behind our backs, not face-to-face. And then they collapsed the exit with magic…. I wanted to help too. But…”

Hans erased his faint smile.

“When I broke through the blocked path, you were gone.”

“…”

“You know, Uriah… Have you heard the ghost story about the dungeon at the academy? They say that if you go into the dungeon alone, you’ll be possessed by a ghost.”

“What do you mean?”

Hans chuckled at Uriah’s words.

“You should know too. You were possessed by that ghost.”

In Hans’ hand was a sphere containing Ruin’s unique magic, glowing red. Hans looked down at Ruin, who was struggling for breath, and slowly began to absorb the magic while stepping on Ruin’s head.

With a hot heat, Hans smiled and continued explaining easily for the oblivious Uriah.

“You know Kalyps, right?”

Hans smirked.

“This person is the owner of that ghost story.”

“…Don’t joke. How can someone who died over a hundred years ago…”

“Somebody died, huh.”

“No… Now that I’m dead, is it right that I died?”

Hans snapped his fingers.

From his fingertips, the red sphere that was Rune’s unique magic began emitting hundreds of lights, illuminating the dark ceiling.

In an instant, Uriah, who was met with the bright sight, squinted her eyes and lost her words at the scenery before her.

The ceiling and walls were filled with numerous ancient characters along with countless sword marks.

Hans read Uriah’s bewildered eyes and spoke.

“Don’t you remember anything like this?”

In an instant, forgotten memories quickly passed through Uriah’s mind.

-Miss Uriah, please come back to your senses. If I count one, two, three, we will jump over there. Got it?

-Don’t be scared.

-I will take care of everything. Just keep running forward.

The man’s face in the faint memory did not appear obscured like fog, but the affectionate voice that reverberated was unmistakably someone Uriah knew well.

Overwhelmed by the rushing memories, Uriah tilted her head.

“No. At that time, I’m sure…”

Hans looked at murmuring Uriah, sighed and shook his head.

“What are we going to do about Ricardo’s poor state?”

The moment Rune’s stolen unique ability was fully absorbed into Hans’s body.

-Fajjik!

“Aargh!!!”

The red light began spewing out from Hans’s body.

Suddenly appearing red light began covering Hans’s body. Rune’s unique ability that was being absorbed by Hans returned to its original form as a sphere and started separating from him. Hans covered his head in extreme pain and started screaming.

“Aargh!!! What is this! I perfectly reproduced the Liquor Feeding…! What went wrong?!”

In agony, Hans wriggled his body and tried to find the cause, biting it forcefully, but he could not pinpoint the source amidst the out-of-control dark magic and kept wandering.

“Now!”

Seizing the opportunity, Mihael, who broke free from confinement, ran towards Hans, and Rune’s unique magic that was in Hans’s hand flew through the air and fell to the ground.

Rune knelt on the ground and reached out his hand towards his fallen magic.

Mihael confronted Hans.

Uriah struggled with her head wrapped in fading memories, in a state of confusion and frustration.

In the midst of the out-of-control dark magic, Hans, in a panic, murmured a familiar name with a tearful voice.

“Did you make spoiled food? Ricardo…!”

Hans muttered as he looked at the huge sword engraved on the ceiling. Hans, who spat bitter curses while looking at the erased intricate letters on the sword.

In the midst of everyone risking their lives, the blue window that had caught Uriah’s eyes while standing emptily began to reveal its form.

-As a penalty for quest failure, immediately read “The Unqualified Person”, the 42nd prequel.

At that moment, Uriah’s time stopped.

Michail confronting Hans with a sword.

Lune lying on the ground.

And even Hans, wrapping his head in the rampage of black magic.

Everyone stood frozen, and even the dust floating in the air stopped moving.

‘Um…?’

Uriah had a small question.

Uriah, too, couldn’t move freely in the frozen time. She could only look at the blue letters that appeared in front of her.

A foreboding feeling began to overwhelm Uriah.

-Aren’t you curious?

Hans’ words passed through her mind.

The story that she didn’t know. The hidden memories in the events she thought had ended. Uriah looked at the blue window with trembling eyes.

[After 10 seconds, Part 1 “The Reason He Became Rescued” will be opened.]

[The reading begins.]

Uriah’s vision was pitch black.

***

Uriah opened her eyes in a familiar place.

In front of the academy’s fountain.

She stood there among the many students.

It was early morning.

It was an early morning with the ash-colored sky shining on the fountain.

Confused, Uriah looked around, but when she saw a woman with black hair, she realized it wasn’t reality.

-Hmm.

Yeonae, the youngest daughter of the Deathmoon noble family known for their formidable power and presence that rivals the towers, and the one who used dark magic before she radiated charm with her glossy black hair.

From Olivia Deathmoon’s appearance in the past, Yuria realized that she had come to the past.

“Is this a dream?”

Or maybe she passed out, but one thing for sure was that her current appearance was not visible to them.

Olivia was sitting on the fountain railing. In front of her was a man with red hair, and Lady Gong was chewing on chocolate, displaying a demeanor that once had fierce eyes.

“So, did you do as I asked?”

“Putting poison in the slippers?”

“Yes.”

“I didn’t do it.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s bothersome.”

“Do you want to get punished?”

“I don’t mind.”

“hehehehe!”

The two were casually talking. Looking at how they were joking and conversing just like before, Yuria clenched her fist.

She didn’t like the sight of the two who didn’t get along. The sight of them casually talking about putting poison in her slippers made Yuria tremble.

After having a brief conversation, Olivia let out a deep sigh and spoke to Ricardo.

“I will only say this once. Listen carefully.”

Hearing Olivia’s words, Yuria released her tightly clenched fist.

“What did she say…?”

As if representing her thoughts, Ricardo spoke to the bewildered Olivia from the past.

“What did you say?”

“Just as you heard.”

“No… Ha.”

Surprised, Ricardo ran his hand through his hair. In his eyes that were looking down at Olivia with a frustrated expression, Yuria could see a hint of anger.

Ricardo spoke to Olivia. Suppressing his anger and representing the story he had heard in a calm voice.

“What do you mean by leaving Yuria alone in the dungeon?”

Ricardo questioned Olivia as if accusing her. He yelled at her, asking if it made any sense to leave Yuria, who didn’t even know how to use offensive magic, alone in the dungeon. Seeing Ricardo, Yuria thought to herself.

“Why is he making that expression?”

Yuria couldn’t understand Ricardo, who was angry. It wasn’t an expression that the man who tormented her used.

“Shouldn’t you like it instead?”

Yuria felt that her memory was wrong.

The past Olivia was avoiding Ricardo’s eyes.

“It wasn’t my idea.”

“Then who…!”

“Kayla.”

The familiar name brushed by Yuria’s ear.

“Kayla.”

Despite being the child of a high noble called Viscount, she was a precious friend who first approached Yuria, who was bullied.

With the appearance of an unexpected name, Yuria felt a dizzying sensation as if she had been struck on the head with a bat.

She wanted to believe it was a dream.

She had been doing well until now.

When she returned alive from the dungeon, Yuria couldn’t hide her trembling heart, knowing that Kayla, who comforted her first, was the culprit behind everything.

“Kayla said that…?”

“No. Kayla is so kind.”

“We ate together and did homework together, and we were so close.”

While silently denying it in her heart, Yuria tried to focus on Olivia’s words, but she couldn’t easily dispel her troubled thoughts.

Olivia began to talk to Ricardo about why she was abandoned in the dungeon that day.

“Kayla also liked Michael. So she told me to interfere, saying that if I don’t step on him to keep him away from Michael forever, she’ll kill me.”

Ricardo sighed deeply at Olivia’s casual words.

“So did you do it then?”

“No. I didn’t because I thought something would follow.”

“You did well.”

“I see.”

Ricardo rubbed his tense head. He muttered why he kept getting involved in such incidents and then talked to Olivia about Kayla.

“Kayla was the one who put a dead mouse in my locker last week, right?”

“Yeah. I’m scared of mice, so I couldn’t touch it. Can you do it, Ricardo?”

“No? I don’t like mice either.”

“Coward.”

It seemed like Ricardo had known all along. He knew what kind of person Kayla was and what intentions she had when she approached him. It felt like Ricardo had already known for a long time.

‘What…’

Uriah became anxious at the story that was so different from what he knew.

‘Why… Kyra.’

Olivia relayed the story she heard from Kyra, and Ricardo nodded in agreement after hearing her words.

Uriah felt a sense of dissonance at the sight of the two, and her head began to ache with chaotic thoughts.

“Is it a lie?”

Uriah couldn’t believe that her closest friend had tried to kill her, and she couldn’t believe Olivia, who spoke those words to Ricardo.

She couldn’t believe that the actions of Kyra, who had embraced her, were actually just a farce.

Amid her chaotic thoughts, Ricardo put on his coat and spoke to Olivia.

“I’ll take a vacation day for now.”

“To go save her?”

“Yes. Because my friend is in a bad situation.”

He called her a friend.

He called her his friend.

It felt strange to Uriah for the person she doubted to call her his friend.

Olivia looked at Ricardo and told him to do as he pleased. She wasn’t Uriah’s friend, so she wouldn’t care if she lived or died.

Ricardo questioned Olivia, placing doubt in his words.

“But… why are you telling me? Miss doesn’t like Uriah either.”

“Yeah, I don’t like her. But…”

Olivia stood up from the railing and spoke with a clear expression.

“Dying is a bit much. And fighting with Kyra…”

“Did you win?”

Olivia put her hand in her pocket and showed Ricardo a bunch of hair that looked like Kyra’s.

“Yeah.”

It was a move that matched Olivia’s undefeated reputation.

“And even if I told you not to go, you would go anyway.”

“No. If you tell me not to go, then I won’t go.”

“Lies. You helped me secretly last time too.”

“That was just luck.”

“Lies are clumsy,” he said.

“I’ll give it a try,” she replied.

Ricardo watched Olivia leave for the dormitory, turning around with a stern expression.

Then he began to run at a fast pace, without resting, towards the dungeon where he had been abandoned that day.

The moment when the misunderstanding of that day was resolved.

[Part 2, ‘The Incompetent Person,’ begins.]

Pale blue letters announcing the start of the event appeared again before his eyes.

And.

The sight of himself stabbing a sword into Ricardo’s abdomen began to appear.
