The title is wrong everyone is obsessed with him humans mermaid demon etc. But the lich backstory was tragic its really good the mc is not a pushover he is strong but not the strongest and he can regenerate
This novel is oddly similar to Running away From The Hero. The story feel is very similar however the vibe around the whole thing including the MC’s motives and situation is very different. Either way, I recommend the other novel to those that may have liked this one.
Harem? Maybe. A man who got isekai-ed and was born into half demon people. He’s been living for quite some time. He’s a spy who became the 4 Heavenly King, but in his time there he built relationships with persecuted minority demons and are actually made the other 3 consider him somewhat of a friend. When he lost he became a member of the hero party, and doing another “fake death” again to protect her.
Then, he kept doing that. Helping people (woman) and then faking his death. Turns out, he’s been doing this since forever, for about decades, while making multiple identities, mostly due to order from his higher-ups. That’s why he is seeking a comfy retired life. Then the empress whom he had helped ascend found out about him, and this leads to other people finding his traces that he’s actually alive. This created a funny juxtaposition where we’ve seen him leisurely living his live and the people who had thought he died currently in guilt due to his sacrifices. He’s super dense, but chill, and this is a point for comedy too. Like, the empress trapped him to a wedding, he didn’t realize that the groom is him until he arrived and he just thought “welp it’s time to ran away again then”.
I don’t know whether we’ll go the absurdist comedy, or a fantasy harem ending. Maybe both. Be warned though, this is not a story. It barely qualifies as one. More of a summary rather than a well thought out actual stories. Don’t read it expecting it to be good, let alone a decent one.
I am eagerly awaiting the punchline though.

Is he an old man. I kind of hate those, like that one assassin anime/ln. Worlds greatest assassin become aristocrat or something? That one is good I think, but I hate when they think as if they’re an old man unlike Lugh who seems to have regressed in some sort of way and still acts somewhat childlike and his age. I think? Anyways I don’t wanna read this if the MCs and old man.

Sorta kinda. It’s not that he died as and old man and reincarnated as a child therefore regressed and are acting childish, he just reincarnated normally but has been in this world for a long time, possibly decades. And I think that’s one of the reason why he’s dense, he didn’t see most of them as romantic targets, just a kid. Especially since a few of them met him when they’re still a kid so he saw their development through.
Think of this story as “young people who fell in love with long living being” kinda thing, with our MC as the long living being ones.

Harem AF. He has six harem members (including a freaking sword) by chapter 40. Ruins the f#cking story. Hell, even the half dragon heavenly king (who is a dude) may be in the harem (turned into a cerberus and loved being petted by the MC).
Again, a kernel if a good story ruined by awful tropes. MC starts out OK, but turns out to be dense as all f#ck (even with the magic sword possessed by a soul of a priestess continually offering commentary, he just doesn’t get it). And the harem aspect of the story is just garbage. No need for it. If it was simply the dichotomy between Scarlett and the Cana, with the MC having half a brain, it would have been just fine.
