    5.5/10

  6. Diamond says:

    9/10 Good

  7. Here’s a quick summary of this novel as I’ve read up till 46 chapters. One word: Boring.

    1. This novel is just your generic harem story but with “intriguing” main character who behave like a clown. Well of course he is. And all the girls feel like they’re all fawning over MC for absolutely no particular reason. I can’t find any single logical, sensible, and reasonable cause for them to fall head over heels to our MC. Okay I get it if they have a crush on MC, but it’s written like they all treat MC specially and fall head over heels. The relationship progression feels very contrived for me.

    2. The story feels like it’s a barrage of tell-dont-show and there’s a lot of contrivance here and there. Firstly what’s with the shadow step technique? What makes it special? What differentiate this footwork technique with others? How does it work? Okay so the first application is the shadow clone. And then the emperor comes to basically teach the protagonist that the shadow step technique has more depths. But why can’t you write and show the demonstration, application, and process when the protagonist learn it to understand the technique more? It’s just written like he almost died many times, but that’s it, we don’t get to see he’s struggling to understand the technique itself. And what’s with the sudden asspull? It’s like when there’s a fight, the enemy leaps toward MC and then the enemy doesn’t realize that there’s a trap installed in the ground before the MC. Okay, so, when did he set it up? How did he set it up in the first place? How the hell does that happen in the first place? Can you at least give a hint, foreshadowing, and checkov’s gun on it? It just feels like “Oh? Really? What? Did our MC do that?” and of course it’s to show the protagonist’s wit. But in terms of storywriting it just feels like it’s only told, but not shown. And what about when the protagonist spread the news, reports, and buzz when he infiltrated the Noble’s house? Can you at least show it or at least give a hint to us a little? Not just, oh yeah, that happened? And there’s a lot of contrivances here and there as well like example the characters behave very strangely like they’re there to spoon and feed the protagonist with “special treatment”. Its a barrage of tell-dont-show and contrivances.

    3. The MC feels OP not in the power sense but in the social network sense. It feels like he’s golden-spooned by a people with high social status here and there that acts and behave very oddly considering their status. Why do they behave that way and all the same dynamics to our MC? Oh by the way, MC is kinda OP too in the power sense, because not even a dragon could see through his illusion. And how does his pocket ability work? What’s the range, limitation or restrictions of his ability? Maybe you can, I don’t know, use it to drop heavy, massive thing from the sky? Can we explore more into the illusion superpower that he possess? I don’t know it seems kinda important to me considering the fact that a dragon can’t see through it. What about his mask? You can flesh it out more. And not just explaining it but maybe show it as well.

    4. This novel is heavily, like really heavily, revolve around our main protagonist. I don’t find any unique and distinctive attributes, characteristics, and personality on each different individuals presented. The way they talk is all the same. The way their personality and behaviour are written feels contrived. The way their relationship progress feel boring. The way they treat our MC is kinda similar (golden-spoon treatment). I can’t even differentiate which one is who if the author doesn’t write their physical trait first. The other supporting characters kinda feel bland and shallow with how troupey and strangely contrived they behave towards our MC.

    5. What’s up with the recurring repeated mask gag? Okay, I get it, for the first time, it might seem funny, but don’t just shove it down my throat for too many times. And what’s up with the protagonist keep boasting how handsome he is 24/7? Is that supposed to be a funny joke? I don’t get it. Some might say that it’s written like a Chinese cultivation novel MC. It almost feels like we’re following a journey of a narcissistic/histrionic person with how cunning, overbearing, boastful, superficially charming, and dramatic/theatrical he be acting and behave sometimes. And why does he behave that way?

    6. I agree with what the preceding reviewers have stated. The relationship doesn’t really progress somewhere because of how our MC treat them with this “unserious” feeling I got.

    7. In summary, I agreed with what the other have generally stated. This novel is carried heavily by its MC. But it’s still hit or miss. The other characters suck. THE INTERACTION BETWEEN CHARACTERS IS ONLY INTERESTING BECAUSE IT’S CARRIED BY THE MC PERSONALITY (Sorry I don’t know how to italicize this sentence). So, If you don’t like the MC. I bet you would drop this novel early.

    8. I might change my review after I continue reading it. But for now, it’s 6/10 for me. It’s hella boring, ngl.

    1. Sephir says:

      WoW exactly what I thought

    2. Extra Extra says:

Ah, a victim of Loki, I see.

      Darun? Perhaps?

  8. I’m usually prejudiced against novels that have these covers drawn in the Paint program, but I’ve seen recommendations for this one in other novels I follow and it’s very good. So good that it made me think about revisiting novels that I never even clicked on because the paint cover makes it look completely amateurish and poisonous. lol

  9. Sekiryuutei says:

Great novel i would recomend to read it the story was good the mc is funny and great the way his speaks and dialogue are unique and funny i gave it a solid 9/10

  10. Su 183 says:

  18. Zzz says:

    9.5/10 Recommended
I usually take off 2 points from harem novels cuz fk harem but this novel is good enough for me to disregard the harem.
Mc is interesting, heroines are interesting, character interactions are interesting.
There is a simple but intriguing plot. Mc is neither too op nor too weak so far(ch70, still reading).
I like how it doesnt have too much info dump out of nowhere. The enemy is introduced at a good timing, pace is just right.
    Translation is good too.

  19. Luis says:

    Loco bastardo

  20. Shadow says:

This a must read, A funny mc with development and proper world building and real characters.

The best novel, MC remamber me like Da In

  25. Nando says:

The best novel after manggo stick

  26. Nando says:

The best novel MC after manggo stick

  27. Prettyboy099 says:

It is one of the best novel and mc is also one of the best. Although mc is bit dense, his character itself fills that void. Not even once the novel felt forceful. Moreover the mc have cunning personality and I love MCs with cunning personality. Highly recommended. 👍

    1. rob z rob z says:

Not even once felt forced? The whole mask / handsome gag was one of the most forced recurring jokes since the freaking bat in Running Away From The Hero!, which is one of the 3 worst Korean web novels I have ever read.

      1. Once again, the forced thing depends upon perspectives. What you did not like, I liked it. I am simply stating my feelings after reading. I liked it even better than ‘Munchkin who hides his academy power’ in which I find the mc kinda annoying.

        1. By the way I am the same ppl.

          1. amogustimestwo says:

Meaning you are Prettyboy099 (or something like that)?

      2. Shu Chou Shu Chou says:

Although i agree it was a bit forced, its not that unbearable . after all, where in the world have you seen a korean MC that isnt handsome? like, for real… almost every korean mc are either the most handsome, or just straight have a perfect body.

  28. No21 says:

Anyway, I think it’s a good story and deserves an 8/10

  29. Please update and don’t abandon this gem

  30. Luis says:

De las mejores novelas que leí en éste sitio, la trama puede ser chicle pero es atrapante, además la personalidad del MC es bastante carismática. 10/10.

  31. Luis says:

    Licht Bach?

  32. Eshya says:

this novel is so fun. I love the MC, he is very funny and I like his conversations with other characters. I will always wait for the update, even if I have to pay

  33. Inactive U Inactive U says:

Fun read, poison is pretty much non-existent.

  34. Hu Tao Hu Tao says:

This was an absolute blast to read. While the story and settings were really interesting the MC stole the show. He is absolutely such a joy to read. I am looking forward for future updates.

  35. shelwyn shelwyn says:

    Read to chapter 80.
The story this time was pretty good. The world is centered around Mc family heavily. There is character development but it’s mostly driven by Mcs interaction with girls. OR short paragraph on a person, like curse wizard started hanging out with buff dude and is working out walks with more confidence.

There are too many girls for my taste but Mc is driven by revenge and hate even if it’s not obvious at the start. So he doesn’t push relationships too far.

As for the background and world itself it’s not explained too well but it does very slowly build up. As for technology there are communication devices like basic cell phones that only rich nobles use. Mc is given two. Mostly used to talk to girls.

The story itself is about a jester Mc with illusion powers and an op space bag. He uses doppelganger as well. They’re fake but who knows in the future.

    Anyway I like the story.

    1. shelwyn shelwyn says:

Ugh, I did mean to say it’s centered around mcs family, I meant to say it is centered around mc fairly heavily.

  36. Zen says:

Read till chapter 45 i don’t know if I should continue cause it’s too much BS… Maybe things will change in the future… I can’t find a single logical reason why girls should be interested in him till now… People say his way of talking is charming or funny all i see is a typical cultivation Chinese MC. His way of punishing the prince of a kingdom because he is cause of the death of FMC in the game is just corny and gives alot of Chinese novel vibes like everyone is present there but no-one can stop him or see him in the sad excuse of a unique ability even the pathetic excuse of a dragon can’t see through it. The guy has the op version of Naruto’s shadow clonejutsu also and Because of the protagonist aura, iq depletion of villians and side characters of happening left and right even the emperor can’t think straight in this novel. His ability is not properly explained as it’s ever changing with the method of application and each time some thing is added to the effect. MC is unstoppable not in the power sense but rather I feel like the whole universe is revolving around him. Don’t even start with that mask he is wearing i have no idea till now why he is doing that.. if you are a clown you have to dress up like one or put on a make up but this… Mask is just there to increase word count so that as few words or dialogues can be exchanged like everyone wants to see his face and when asked he puts his finger on the lips and says “it’s a secret” or for corny, “humorous” boasting about his good looks both with mask and without it, we know in the being during character creation that he is handsome but the characters haven’t seen his true face yet only readers know still he braggs about his looks which is supposed to be funny and that’s 60 percent of the novel.

I am criticising this much cause alot of people supported this novel so I just had to give my honest take. This novel is not for everyone it’s a hit or miss.

    1. rob z rob z says:

I fully agree with your comments. But to be fair to the novel, you need to read the Nightmare arc, which starts around chapter 49 and goes to about 56. It gives important background on the MC and his character.

  37. I raised EX Class says:

Like klein moretti in Sequence clown

    1. Hated Author KR says:

      Wtf Same comment with me?

  38. Hated Author KR says:

Like klein moretti in Sequence clown

  39. Ken Ken says:

At first i thought it was a common isekai story with fun and playful mc. until i read chapter 50+

  40. SenatorArmstrong says:

It’s a clown world after all

  41. Rader says:

Good novel. 9.5/10. And add Yandere tags.

  42. Padre damaso says:

    Worth 10/10

    Compared to most poisons 100/50

  43. RealEason says:

romance and comedy blends really well together, mc also has two personalities that he changes during serious arcs and normal filler. mc also has backstory and depth, not just your normal op mc with generic harem. So far there all romance options are likeable. 10/10

    1. RealEason says:

oh I forgot to mention the obsession. the author actually gave a reason why the yandere is a yandere 💀

    2. rob z rob z says:

I don’t see how you can say this is somehow different from a generic harem, when that is exactly what this novel is. There are literally HUNDREDS of novels on Kakuyomu and Syosetu with the same kind of harem setup.

  44. clown 🤡🎪 says:

    my story???

  45. rob z rob z says:

Not as good as the below reviews make out. The mask / handsome face gag was old after about three chapters – it gets to be really annoying as hell by chapter 20. Based on current trajectory (with the caveat I haven’t read up to chapter 80), MC is going to be the typical d!ckless eunuch MC in a generic harem story. There’s a kernel of a decent story, but poor jokes and questionable tropes hold it back. 5/10.

    1. Bob Marley Bob Marley says:

Read till 80, mc was indeed not a d1ckless eunuch but rather a colorfull devotee of hate crime against necromancers

      1. rob z rob z says:

Sorry, just wrong. I have read up to 90 (the latest update) and the novel is still firmly heading towards a d!ckless eunuch MC direction. To clarify since you don’t seem to understand, this is endemic to the generic harem setting which this novel unfortunately adopts, with multiple women falling in love with and fawning over the MC, and the MC is just the typical JP web novel d!ckless eunuch who never progresses any of the relationships in a serious way, essentially stringing all the girls along. In so doing, the author typically has to bend over backwards to come up with ridiculous contrivances to explain why the FMCs would even tolerate this, or the author just says “screw it” and writes completely unrealistic female characters.

While there may have been some hope with Johanna after the Nightmare arc, that quickly went away and we are back the generic harem setting again.

I will freely admit starting around chapter 49 the Nightmare arc was a very positive development in the novel, and could have served as a springboard to a really good story – with the clown aspect turning to something more like Pagliacci as opposed to Bozo. But no, we get stuff like chapters 83-89, which were just poor.

    2. amogustimestwo says:

ngl i think the handsome thing is funny lol

  46. Veldra says:

This is what I needed to clean my poison

  47. It´s pretty good, fun MC and decent characters, while it is not amazing or anything, it is one of the better novels on this site imo. Solid 8/10.

  48. Big Blackclock says:

Does the mc hide himself using the clown mask?(like hiding his identity)

    1. Cero says:

Nope, on the contrary, the mask is its main distinctive and an artifact

  49. Insufferable says:

This novel is a most entertaining one, I like it very much. The mc acts like the flamboyant and confident loudmouth as well as being mysterious at the same time.

  50. So i decided to test this one out before going to bed, it is now an hour and a half later and I don’t want to put it down. In my personal opinion so far it seems to be a very good read with a unique sense of humor(that while not completely original is still very good).

TLDR: Worth the read in my opinion.

  51. Insufferable says:
