In general, reading is intriguing and the story seems quite fresh, however, it was not particularly interesting. I was not interested in following the plot development and did not expect anything from what would happen in the next chapters. If you have nothing else to read, you will probably enjoy it, but overall this work does not captivate.

I think the story itself is good, but what’s strange is that he always feels like he chose the wrong race. Well, MC can’t use magic in world of magic and that’s the reason it’s called wrong class. Actually it’s not, in game Homunculus and Mourner combo is like Magic Elden Ring build, both becomes OP and change the difficulty of game to easy or at least normal in mid to late stages.

MC was an orphan raised by his sister after their parents disappeared. Later his sister disappears as well and he continues to play the game that his sister was always playing, partly to be closer to her and then because he enjoyed it. After he started the DLC, he wakes up as a game chara with the Homunculus race, an artificial human race created by vampires/werefolk to provide blood and meat. After being imprisoned for 1 year as a blood bag, he finally escapes and must decide what to do, gaining power/follow the player chara’s heroic path/seek out the chara that his sister used who might or might not really be his sister or just her character? Game is like Dark Souls battles and weapon drops/descriptive text with kinda D&D leveling system, taking feat at level 4, max level is around 18-20, 1 stat point makes a lot of difference, etc.
It’s a pretty good story. I like the heroine Isla, snow leopard kemonomimi is rare, having a thicc tail that she bites is really cute (real snow leopards store fat for cold environment in furry tails and they carry it via biting sometimes because it is so heavy), nice cover girl. I also like that the game MC playing has an interesting class called Mourner. It is like a blood berserker, only instead of being powered by rage it is powered by grief. Berserking is called lamenting and costs lifespan/HP and it was a strong build combined with the HP regen perk/trait from Homunculus race. It’s something I’ve never thought of or encountered, instead of getting a power boost by getting angry, they use their PTSD and tragic memories instead.
Characterization is good, battle scenes could use some work in descriptions.

Good novel. Pacing is good and setting is quite Dark where everything wants to kill other. MC and his sister are orphans, and Older sister raised him alone but she liked playing a game and vanished one day. Little brother tried to find her but failed and in order to trace her tried game.
MC is far better than her as a gamer and found good build for Homunculus race with Berserker attribute. Since Berserkers here lost their pain and gain power it goes well with Homunculus which have higher regen than humans. As it happens his sister also chose that race in her last playthrough. Anyways as he was starting DLC he got transported to the game.
It’s quite likely that MC parents also played this game and that his older sister like him played the game to find their trades. There is quite a mystery here. As of now MC older sister or someone with same name is the protector of Empire and MC is charged with the DLC area called as New World which is a new continent for humans. Story generally revolves around MC fighting hard, he has a lot of enemies and Author is trying his best to show that Villains are not bad all the time while trying to explain why they did so.
It wasn’t to find her, it was to see what she liked about the game and remember her.
It was mentioned in starting chapters that he tried to find her traces and in doing so explored her computer. Since she didn’t have a diary or blog only trace was Game installed on PC so he tried it. In the end he played the game to find her traces but then just played it casually unlike her who played only that game.
