I Released Medicine in a Romance Fantasy Novel

About 60 chapters in, and this novel is kind of effed up. There is no harem (no female interest of any romantic kind), and no obsession in the typical sense. As Deathly Voaltic said, it is about drug distribution and MC building a drug empire. NOte – somespoilers below).

In the original world, MC had a terrible life because his family was evil – his parents were high end swindlers, and is sister was a doctor with an illegal drug business. MC would get blamed for the faults of his family members and have the victims try and take it out on him despite distancing himself from his family; indeed, even his sister blamed him for stuff she was doing with drugs and tried to set him up as a fall guy.

MC ends up a possessor in a fantasy world (basically just wished to be transferred to a fantasy world and, blam, wish granted) of a thug knight who does work for the villainess princess (one of 3 princesses). In the original story, princess makes an opium business, drugs the empress, and the character MC possesses gets killed (I think) by the hero and 3d princess for selling opium in the academy (or some such stuff). BTW, villainess princess (I’ll call her VP) is just evil – no redemption here.

MC doesn’t want this fate, so gets the VP to switch the drug to something else he can make – pills made of magic mushrooms. Empress gets high and is very happy. (In the process 3rd princess gets brought down for claiming it was poison – her descent into misery is depressing). MC asked for money as a reward from VP, but instead gives him tons of opium. He doesn’t want to go down that road, so he turns it into morphine to sell to the military.

And the story goes from there. Basically, it is all about MC making a drug business, some legal, and some messed up. And of course, this has unintended consequences (e.g., original protagonist who is world’s best swordsman that helps stop war with elves becomes a hopeless drug addict that can’t do anything, so MC makes heroine to get all the elves addicted, which works.)

So I don’t know how to rate it. It’s not poison, it’s relatively original, but not my cup of tea.
