Siege engines cannot be produced that quickly and doesn’t operate the way they are shown to be used. The mercenaries are not some wandering circus. They were hired through agents during war season in a specific locations in the Flanders, parts of Germany, Czechia, Eastern Poland, Ireland, Switzerland, Gascony etc. etc. and they needed a permit to roam neutral territory. They would bring their own food. Throwing a feast for mere mercenaries is unheard of. There was also no such thing as a “mercenary captain”, and an officer from the main army would incorporate mercenaries into the already established core army. Long story short, this novel sucks 3/17.
