“Hug me, Daddy!”
“Daddy’s chin is scratchy!”
“Even if you give me this, I’m not happy at all, okay?”
My beautiful daughters, whom I could put in my eyes without pain*.
I sacrificed my life to protect my daughters, and then…
I was reincarnated.
(idiomatic expression in Korean, meaning someone is so precious that even if you put them in your eyes, it wouldn’t hurt.)
45 chapters in, and it is certainly NOT poison so far, but has the potential to become so (for reasons very likely different than the below reviewers express).
Basic premise (with mild spoilers from first 2 chapters) is MC is transported to a fantasy world where he becomes a hero, joins a party with a beastman, saint, wizard, and elf archer, and defeats the demon queen. In the final fight, though, the DQ and MC have a touching moment before DQ dies, where he tells the DQ his true (Korean) name.
MC then, like typical dumb@ss MCs in these stories, wants to go back to Korea right away (instead of living a life of luxury, fame, adulation, surrounded by women, etc). However, before he gets there, he is magically pulled back to the fantasy world by the saint, who is dying – although it is 10 years after he initially left. Apparently, there are devils who have invaded and killed his party members, each of whom (other than the saint) left behind a daughter. (Note: demons and devils are different in this story, and it can get confusing). So MC kills the head devil (or so he thinks) and goes to raise the 3 daughters somewhere safe (off in the forest).
Unfortunately, a high ranking devil finds them, plans a trap, and MC is killed as a result while saving his daughters. MC then reincarnates 2000 years later in the fantasy world as the son of a count, with all memories intact, and was even given the same name as he had in the past. He finds out the three girls he raised (I guess you can call them his daughters) all became goddesses and stamped out the devils (or so everyone thinks). He has an older sister, who discovers he is a reincarnator (because she is one herself).
Of course, the daughters never really stopped looking for the MC (although they gave up hope after a while because his soul was from a different world / dimension), and learn through an oracle he has returned – so they send their followers to find him. Of course, there are still devils, and they try to find him also. Some stuff happens (won’t spoil), there is a 15 year time skip (during which time MC was living inside his holy sword), and the story turns into an academy novel (i.e. MC enters the academy founded by one of his daughters because apparently some devils have infiltrated and he wants to clean the place up). And of course, at the academy, all the girls in the story show up in one form or another.
So first, why I disagree with the below reviewers who are calling it poison: yes, its a pretty simple story, and there is not much in the way of character development (at least so far) – but that doesn’t make it poison, and in fact I enjoyed this more than a lot of garbage novels that have been popping up recently.
Diatribe time: we really need to establish a clear baseline for what is poison (or when you call something poison, you should clearly explain why). The only stories where I have seen near universal agreement as being poison are NTR, and r@pe / child / sexual abuse. After that, given this is a Korean novel site, stories with beta / cuck / simp Japanese novel style MCs also seem to be generally regarded as poison. Gender reverse worlds and TS stories also seem to be viewed as poison for a number of folks. From there it really diverges.
So this is a simple story, and the author isn’t the most skilled, but the mtl is pretty decent, we’ve got some yanderes brewing, and there has been nothing really offensive so far with respect to bad tropes. So far, I would put this in the top half of novels I have read on this site – its a popcorn / fluff piece you can use to kill some time while waiting for your favorite stories to be updated.
So why do I think this might become poison? First, because this is heading down an ambiguous / unconsummated harem path, where a bunch of girls are in love with the MC, but nothing every really happens. I find this kind of story to be absolute poison. Second, at the academy, we are starting to see some hints of the “I must hide my powers” because “reasons” trope, which is the second worst trope in all of web novels, only behind the dense MC.
Thanks for the review, all of these 8.8 rating novels have all been trash or low mid so far and I might just consider only reading 9+ ratings because those are the actual gold
Thanks for your hard work. Having said that, if so then it’s not for me. I don’t like the MC and it looks like the story is a Frankenstein type with famous plots put together, seems weak.
thank you for your sacrifice and my saved time
Thanks for the review. İt may not be an absolute poison, but I still don’t want to take that risk
You say it’s not poison and then explain step by step why it’s pure poison. I really found it very funny. In each paragraph the novel has changed genre, setting, protagonist and location because surely the author has been taking from here and there each of his favorite novels. It’s not poison, it’s pure rat poison.
The real MC is Holy sword, author should change the title to Hard Carry of Holy Sword 🤣
Holy sword can do anything, it can taking care your child, give the user super human ability, can cook, it also can find the spy and tracking.
All hail for holy sword ululululu
Don’t worry guys, the possibility of me getting sent to a novel world is 0 because I’m too deranged for that.
God authors gonna be like: “nooo you’re supposed to save the world, not simp for the white haired demon queen or king!!!”
Too late, maybe don’t make best girl the main antagonist
Black hair girls are better 🤫.
😧
I see no denial
Every time I don’t see a regular poison tester, I think about the possibility that them were forcibly transmigrated in a trashy novel.
Nothing to say …
trash 🗑️
Nothing like emotion …so simple…
After 30 chapters I can only say this is jorgumandr level poison.
It is not an issue of MTL, the writing of the author is simply bad, the characters are 0 level dimension and the story is superifial.
Better read something else
Not cataclysm????
10 Chaps here. This story is… eh it was pretty bad for what I read. For the most part the start was pretty much a flash read with everything happening real quick with no stops. Then there is parts that just felt off and given no time to set like the guy taking care of the girls(Even then, this type of stories always feel bad to read). I give it a 4/10 at least it as readable from what I read I guess.
don’t tell me, her daughter was…
Oh, if I give this novel a bad review? Will I transmigrate into a novel? Hhhh
..
man’s trying to get reincarnated in EX-class that i raised. LMAO
If anyone were to transmigrate it would be me, I don’t think the god authors particularly dislike or like me because of the amount of insane ramblings I have.
Go poison testers ….
Don’t die
It’s OK, at least it’s not gender reversal roles…
I’m afraid to read this thing 🥶
The daughters better not be heroines please god no. Weird asf if that’s the case. Poison testers pls tell me so.
Don’t have too much hope, remember that there is already something to do
A novel with this kinds of title, having the daughter(s) not be a heroine(s)? The amount of novel I’ve read that don’t make them a heroine can be counted with one hand
His blood related sister is a heroine and his sword too imagine foster daughters… Lol and yeah the novel is crude and nothing really makes sense actions feel totally unreal the emotions are stupid and everything flows weird
Why with only 1 hand…? What are you doing with the other?
