Synopsis Otherworld TRPG Game Master

As a wizard of the Illusion Magic School, I decided to use illusion magic to create a virtual reality for playing TRPGs.

It was great to have created the virtual reality, but I was in trouble because I couldn’t find suitable players. Then, I received an offer from the royal family for a professorship at the academy.

The offer was to safely fill the students’ lack of practical experience with illusion magic. And so, I became a professor at the academy.

“Send me back to that world, right now!”

“The foreign gods, someday the foreign gods will drive us to ruin, everyone will die!”

“I am not the illegitimate child of the Redburn Ducal Family. I am Namgung Cheonghwi, the foremost disciple of the Great Namgung Clan!”

But it seems there’s a bit of a misunderstanding.

This is not dimensional travel magic, but fiction, kids…

  1. Enoh says:

So far, My Ranking for the TRPG arcs:
    1) Cthlulu Arc (Bennet, Tara, Nioe)
    2) Imperial Future Arc (2nd Prince)
    3) Tower of trials (Envers, Luna, Selvia, Bennet/Tara/Noie_
    4) Savage Lands (1st Princess)
    5) TS Magical Girl (Rodeus, Lulu)

The Murim Heavenly Demon arc isn’t finished but it’s looking pretty good, I’d rank it between 2-3 so far.

    1. Thug Shaker says:

      Mine is

      1.) Future Imperial Arc
      2.) TS Mahou Shoujo Arc
      3.) Ctulhu Arc
      4.) Tower of Trials
      5.) Savage Lands

Honestly the Murim Arc doesn’t really interest me, I’m just waiting for the 2nd Prince to meet his girl.

      1. TheDiir says:

        Agreed

    2. WoWie says:

My ranking is almost the same, except i swapped the Magical Girl and Savage Lands rankings.

  2. Thug Shaker says:

I find the first and third latest arc quite boring, still I’m thankful for the latest chapters.

  3. Doublesubwalfas says:

  9. milky violet says:

Fate, destiny, stupid things that bind us in order to keep us weak. To prevent us from playing ball and aspiring beyond the stars.

There are multiple dimensions and worlds, each governed by celestial administrators to fine tune the world and see life bloom. Why does destiny and fate exist if they are to see life blossom? Idk this is getting too far, what I want to say is

Hunter style story, but the reasons they have monsters and stuff is cause one guy was so good and genius or whatever that he broke his destiny. That’s a no no, you just messed up the dimensional laws and now everything is in chaos!! That guy is like the Prometheus that brought fire and intelligence to man, but it is now freedom.

Monsters spew out from different realms at an exponential rate, ‘godly’ beings begin to build their pantheons, and the essence of magic begins to wrap its dirty hands on this world.

Jk magic is cool, I want to shoot magic lightning bolts from my fingertips.

and the story is defying fate, I hate destiny I desire free will. I hate your desires but I will fight for your right to have it, snd also so you suffer the consequences cause no destiny get out of jail card now hehehe

    1. milky violet says:

Now that I have time to think, I should definitely make it an academy type story… and definitely make it a dense protagonist…

ehhh I’m kinda bored with this idea now. I like the idea of super strong legends

  10. Like, I really like the roleplaying aspects and the misunderstandings :>

  11. bakanayatsu says:

10/10 I even cried on the epilogue. The author is too good at making seemingly unimportant things dramatic.

Last Read: ch 80 (WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE A CLIFFHANGER!)

    1. Sareza says:

Wdym epilogue? We’re not even halfway in the story

      1. bakanayatsu says:

at the end of each arc there’s an epilogue

  12. asf says:

    Its really good. Try it.

  13. Last Read: Chapter 38
    Rate: 10/10

  14. Suherman Joshua says:

This novel has a wise story, but personally I don’t like the MC who plays with other characters with his illusion magic. The author added it as a joke because the other characters misunderstood the MC’s abilities and couldn’t differentiate between illusion and reality. I also don’t like the story with each character where the MC puts them in the magic simulation he is playing, their story is a bit boring. This novel is more like an everyday life story, and each character get enlightenment after get out from MC’s illusion.

  15. Themadman says:

Might be just me but I feel like mtl is worse after chapter 50.

    1. Kir4 says:

Nah, u are right. It’s worse

  16. TheDiir says:

Thanks to NobleMtl for the update 🙏

  17. TheDiir says:

In psychology, there is a term called melancholic. These are individuals who, if given a PS5, would refuse it and prefer to enjoy a piece of cake. You would be puzzled about the allure of the cake until you realized it was made by their deceased mother.

From this, a pattern emerges. Instead of relishing the joy of a PS5, which could bring happiness with friends and create a positive atmosphere, individuals with a ‘melancholic’ disposition are more focused on personal and profound pleasures. This is why they are often associated with introversion or an ability to experience deep emotions.

I am confident that this novel will resonate strongly with ‘melancholic’ individuals.

    1. ACY NED ACY NED says:

Very Interesting. Thanks for your insight.

  18. Zzz says:

    I have read to ch45
First part(2nd prince simulation) was 10/10 but i would rate rest until ch45 8/10, feels like problems that can be solved quickly are being delayed for no real reason
Recommend to give it a try

  19. shelwyn shelwyn says:

    Read to Chapter 50
Good story, funny and insane Mc.

  20. Munu says:

This is one of the best novels in novelpia you should read it if you are free

  21. Komaru says:

    This is really good.

  22. Arcus 101 Arcus 101 says:

This is surprisingly quite good. Though only time will tell how the academy part will go, since it seems there are a lot of events and misunderstanding from various sides about each other and it doesn’t seem like there would be a lot of chance to truly do the TRPG session which is this novel’s main point. I feel like while the academy arc will have some session going on, the author will focus more on the real world side of things, I’ll have to see where this will go.

    1. Arcus 101 Arcus 101 says:

Another surprising part is actually that in 50 chapters, it is only around the later part of those chapters that he is actually inside the academy despite the summary is him being in the academy, the author sure did a lot of build up before actually sending him there.

  23. Rissira says:

the first session was awesome!. . second session is not so much. . if they have other session similar with the first one then this novel will legit be worth reading. . right now, I feel this novel just got lucky because of that first session. .

  24. Hu Tao Hu Tao says:

Really good. Looking forward for more. Haha

  25. sense-san says:

Its not really a table top RPG but more like a magical VR RPG with how it works and how its implemented. Its till great and funny though how the people interact with it.

  26. Veldra says:

This is just peak. If mc was evil with this power the world would be done for

  27. TheDiir says:

Always First rank weeks in novelpia and you still ignore it?

    1. Tian ‎ Tian ‎ says:

it’s only 4 days since it has 50 chapters

  28. Fake Tree says:

This is the best novel i’ve ever read before the end of the year, JFC. To the person who picked this novel, TYSM.

  29. Frauuu says:

Ohhh this novel is finally here huh??? Whooooohoooo

10/10 novel, consistently appear on novelpia’s ranking (1-9th). Whoever brought this novel here is GOAT

  30. I rarely comment on a novel, but to who picked this novel. It is good.

  31. Bob Marley Bob Marley says:

Hot daym this right here is my good stuff Noble please keep updating this! 😀

    1. Bob Marley Bob Marley says:

Holy sht it’s crazy, truly a mad lad of a novel 😀

  32. Big Blackclock says:

    Ohhh?!?!No romance, harem, obsession, regret?!?!

    1. Random guy says:

      Means I’m not reading it🤑🤑🌲🌲

      1. min si says:

        there is a romantic subplot

        1. Extra Extra says:

          Romantic subplot eh?

          Added to ‘Might read’ list

          1. Daver55 says:

            My man!

  33. Wait, isn’t TRPG Tactical Rpg? Like Langrisser and Fire Emblem? But it is described like D&D here?

    1. Most definition of TRPG that I always hearing is Table-Top RPG. Its my first time hearing Tactical RPG.

    2. Seastan says:

Fire emblem three houses but Byleth is a terrible professor

    3. rob z rob z says:

TRPG usually stands for Turn-based Role Playing Game (like D&D), Divinty: Original Sin) as opposed to Real Time RPG.

    4. Komaru says:

TRPG has always been Tabletop RPG. Even if you search for it, it’s that result.

      1. rob z rob z says:

No, it hasn’t. That’s why video games like Baldur’s Gate and Divinity Original Sin are called TRPGs, and they ain’t table top (although as another poster below noted, the word tactical is used as well, but its based on the same concept). And table top RPG is far more often abbreviated as TTRPG.

        1. Komaru s Komaru s says:

Those are CRPG’s and have always been known as CRPG’s. The Baldur’s Gate series has been known as a CRPG since it was released in 1998.

    5. Arcus 101 Arcus 101 says:

Despite sometimes called Tactical RPG, it is more known as Strategy RPG(SRPG) instead, at least in my place.

  34. Bob Marley Bob Marley says:

Looks VERY VERY INTERESTING I wish story is up to par
