mmh, it’s kind of a generic survival/dungeon-survival novel. mc goes to get awakened and climb tower with annoyingly vague ambitions of ‘fame and fortune’, receives the described conditional powers, finds he’s locked in the tower until he completes it and/or “saves the world” following a matchingly vague prophecy of doom and destruction. so, it’s a bit like one of those super hardcore solo tower climbers… only he’s not actually alone, and it’s not quite all that hardcore. others can come and go just fine, and he interacts with them regularly – he just insists on climbing alone, except all the times he’s forced into parties anyway??
i mean i get the presented logic – he’s too overlvled for party play and cant afford the xp penalty frm it if he’s aiming to reach the end, but it’s all just a bit weird. and the difficulty is so completely random, it’s all a total breeze even solo then suddenly it’s an impossible challenge that in no way could ever have been beaten by even 10-man parties?? and it’s not like the tower is adjusting to him either since it’s fixed for everyone. well whatever…

the real point is there’s nothing new or particularly interesting going on here, as far as i read anyway. if ur looking for dystopian solo/team dungeon conquering, ‘tutorial too hard’ and its ilk have it done way better. if ur looking for story where mc get stronk through pain or self-harm there’s a bunch of those out there too. and for both in one – even those are a thing; ‘suicide hunter’ among the first that come to mind. although they all do come laden with their own problems – especially to me – at the very least i could not bring myself to throw out ‘boring’, as their first label. which is unfortunately not something i could say for this particular piece.

tl;dr i got bord at like ch60. possbly it gets bttr later bt hard doubt. not recommended unless ur like SUPER desperate to red smth like this.
